I’m a little late with this review, but better than never I suppose. Late last year I had the pleasure of working with Michael Meyer and his team at F&M on the purchase of our new home in Maryland. Not only did F&M offer a phenomenal rate, but they went above and beyond to make the entire process a breeze. Our situation was tricky because my pregnant wife and I were moving from another state for a new job in DC. We needed to close on our house as soon as possible after our arrival for obvious reasons. But lo and behold, I was surprised to discover that it is now virtually impossible for non-​cash buyers to close on a house before starting a new job. I understand this is due to rigid enforcement of federal guidelines prohibiting lending to anyone who is «unemployed»… even if the reason for «unemployment» is moving for a new job. Many lenders I spoke with insisted on 30 or 60 days worth of pay stubs from my new job before closing. Yeah, right… we’ll just go ahead and move all of our belongings 700 miles, unload everything into an apartment, then pack it back up 2 months later and pay to have it moved again, all while I’m starting a new job and my wife is pregnant. Absolutely ridiculous! Several lenders initially promised they could close within a week or two after starting my new job, only to yank the rug out from underneath me and later insist on 30 or 60 days of pay stubs. Thank God I found F&M. They were the only lender able to deliver. F&M had the expertise, knowledge, and ability to navigate the arcane regulations and offer a customized solution for our unique situation. Michael Meyer suggested a sensible financing alternative no other lender had suggested which allowed us to close on our house in a reasonable time frame after starting my new job. Unfortunately, I wasted almost two weeks of my life shopping around for a competent lender before I found F&M. I spoke with at least a dozen other banks and brokers. F&M was by far the most knowledgeable and professional. They were light years ahead of everyone else I dealt with. I only wish I had found them sooner! Thanks again for making our move painless and possible, guys. We will definitely call on you when the time comes for our next move.

F&M Mortgage Group has got to be the première mortgage brokerage around. Not only are they knowledgeable, and friendly, but they had the best rates of all the brokerages I called on. In fact, they beat a lot of the on-​line sites, like lending tree. Who by the way, has still yet to finish spamming me with follow-​up crap; Did I mention it’s been almost a year since I looked?
In short, they treat you like family. Case in point, Michael Meyer, who is one of the managing partners CAME TO MY HOUSE to drop off paperwork that needed to be signed. After closing, the first call on my cell is from Michael calling to make sure it went off without a hitch. They are truly wonderful to work with.
