About Us:

It is our goal to help you create a relationship with your dog built on mutual trust and respect. I consider certain factors and use this information to create a customized training plan that addresses obedience and behavior concerns. These include;

* Temperament

* Breed

* Age

* Sex,

* General Health

* History

Techniques and tools can then be adapted to suit individual dogs or situations as needed. Dogs are a companion animal, and sharing your life with a dog should be a wonderfully enriching experience. This is achieved when your companion is well-mannered and comfortable in a variety of environments resulting from a well balanced pet. My main focus is helping you bring out the best in your dog. Therefore, my program includes, puppy training, adult dog training, socialization and behavioral training, and anxiety problem solving.

History

Established in 2006.

During the summer of 2008, Meridith formed The Polished Pooch, LLC and knew she found her career passion. Her training school is unique and one of the only programs that offer obedience and behavioral training, as well as the socialization skills a dog needs. The Polished Pooch is also one of the few veterinarian recommended training programs in the area. Dr. Darryl Dixon and Dr. Gram Johnson personally know and trust Meridith and are excited to be part of such a successful, growing business. The Polished Pooch opened a day camp program in October of 2011 and it has received remarkable reviews. When asked, why day camp? Her response is simple, «My puppy schoolers loved coming so much, and my clients wanted more options for their older-trained puppies… … So we opened Day Camp!»

Meet the Business Owner

Meridith C.

Business Owner

At 25 years old, Meridith Caver, wasn’t happy with any career paths she had toddled down, thus far. She had been in school for pre-law and paralegal studies, worked as a business leasing/loan agent, a restaurant manger, and spokesperson for a corporate advertising company. She had even owned her on private riding stables where she taught years of horseback riding lessons to countless children. From here, Meridith fell back on two things that seemed to come naturally since childhood, leadership and animals.

In the summer of 2003, Meridith began working at the Collierville Animal Shelter as an animal care technician and assisted with numerously animal control calls. In April of 2005, Meridith left the shelter and began working at Forest Hill Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician.
