YWCA of Gettysburg & Adams County

The facility is clean and friendly. They offer a lot of different classes and have a good selection of equipment too! It is a fun environment and it makes you feel comfortable and confident!

This is a real community center as well as a gym. The equipment in the gym is pretty comprehensive ranging from cardio machines to strength conditioning machines. Lots of weights too if that’s your orientation. Very relaxed atmosphere and membership is reasonably priced. They offer many health related programs free with membership. This is a great resource for Gettysburg and beyond.

This is all that I could ask for in a gym.
They have 4 excellent octanes ellipticals, the best machines I have ever used. They also have two older machines, one of which I’ll use if I have to, but the other completely sucks. I think they get new equipment as they get donations, etc, so that explains that. They only have one stair climber, but they have at least 6, possible 8 treadmills.
This doesn’t seem like a lot, but I have never once had to wait for a machine, and I’ve gone at every hour of the day possible over vacations from school.
They have an extensive weight selection, and I think all of the equipment is made by nautilus. If you are a new member a trainer will walk you through the weights and how to use them correctly, without bugging you to procure his or her services.
The locker rooms are mid size, but nice. There is a a sauna, a mat for stretching and using exercise/​medicine/​bosu balls, free weights, rooms for classes, an occupational therapist, a giant Olympic size pool (where I used to be a lifeguard) and a whirlpool.
My mom gets a family membership every year, which is excellent because there are no ballys or golds within a 50 mile radius of my village. But this place really sets the standard for me in fitness accommodation. They have a really good childcare program as well, and a coffeeshop that is a branch of the best coffeeshop in town, the Ragged Edge.
