This place said they were available then went dark. They can’t even call us back to book the entire place.

So, I used to go here when I was in college and I had really fond memories off all the beautiful cats and the funny pygmy goats. I went back recently and found it a bit disturbing. The founder/​owner has since passed away and the business has reorganized as a nonprofit (I’m not sure it this status is based on religion or the work with animals?). So many surfaces are covered with cobwebs. They have a truck/​van that says something like, Donate Money to Us, We Save Ocelots and we have 501c3 status. But they did not rescue these ocelots. They bought or even bred these ocelots and other exotic big cats like Servals. It’s true, the founder used to BREED exotic big cats in San Francisco. They didn’t save them. They brought them into the world to live in a cage! The cats sit all day in these depressing pens with dirt floors and cobwebby covered chain link fences with very little stimulation. And based on the way the cats are walking (gingerly and with a painful limpy gate) it really looks like they’ve been declawed. If you don’t know about declawing, watch «The Paw Project» on Netflix or online. It’s all about the massive pain and disfigurement that we do to cats when we declaw them. It’s cruel and inhumane and there’s a huge push to make it illegal. In many places it is already illegal. It’s like cutting of the first joint of our fingers, but even worse, because we don’t bear all our weight on our fingers. Other than these poor exotic big cats, I have to admit I enjoyed admiring some of the other animals like the emus, the alpacas, the exotic neon-​colored pheasants, and the happily squawking and talking birds. Some of the employees/​volunteers are really quite nice and helpful. And some are like hippies/​alternative lifestyle people who have that judgmental thing going on.

I tried to book at airbnb for about 4 days with DeTraci. I left also about 4 messages and texted twice. I got a response by text once that said, «call back, I’m busy.» I responded when and no response.
I finally got one response that the place was booked for a wedding on the weekend I wanted. Ok. I responded with two days available during the week and the response approved one day without any response. I responded if they could provide two days together since we have flexibility. No response.
I am bummed with the customer service/​responding. I really want to check out this place and edit this review; I know this place is probably a slice of heaven.

I made a reservation for this place on
about 2 weeks before our a intended weekend away. I reserved one of the private cabins. When we arrived after a really weird greeting I was told that sometimes
doesn’t send them the info when it’s booked so while they had room in the communal space the cabin we had reserved had been rented to other people and was not available to us. I really just wanted a quiet weekend in a cabin with my wife, what we got was weird costumer service and no cabin and no accountability from the staff.

The name is so perfect! I just came down with a friend who is a regular. I’m a city girl so I was totally out of my element.
I loved all of it. So peaceful, tranquil, oozing of love. Pick ripe plums of trees or sip tea in the Pavillion. The kids totally enjoyed the pool.
Hope you get a chance to enjoy Oasis.

Undoubtably the best Valentines Day weekend ever… Just found this little hideaway in Geyserville on Airbnb app, my High expectations were surpassed. The whole place was a spiritual experience. The lodge was magical, we had room 5. The bed was super comfy and the pool was heated for Feb! The jacuzzi was perfect for a nice end to a fab day as well as the improptu fire show! (not a reg thing just happened to be a special eve) loved the animals and owner De Traci and Jim the best thank you can’t wait to be back soon

This was an airbnb booking fail. About 10 of us (men and women) stayed here and all of us were creeped out. Some guests even left a night early without getting a refund because that was better than staying here another night. We stayed in the 3 bedroom house with an upstairs loft. Every bed (12+) had dirty cheetah print sheets and everything, literally everything, was decorated with tacky, dirty, cobb-​webbed Egyptian decorations. I am all for a cultural experience but this was disturbing. Not to mention, the owner or management lady kept coming to the house at odd hours to give us really pointless things — coming over at 10pm to give us a plug for the tub is just weird. We will never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

This place is a gem! Even when it is pouring rain ;) Miguel, the guardian greeted my husband and I upon arrival. He gave us everything he could to make us feel 100% welcome. Great sauna, jacuzzi, and breath taking property. The gingerbread house was delightful!!! Handmade & created by Miguel too. Also, showering outside? So refreshing. Amazing energy!
Yeah — maybe it’s not squeaky clean but it feels like home! I’d go back in a heartbeat.

What a charming spot! We stayed one night in the «Heavenly Yurt» on our way to wine country, and had a very memorable time. As we told our guide Miguel, this reminded us of Harbin Hot Springs, but without all the tourists. Very peaceful and everybody we met was welcoming and kind.

I stayed at Isis just as a stopover as I was traveling through northern california. A very interesting place indeed! It was set up as an alternative, communal retreat and shared living space and now hosts all kinds of guests from families with kids to solo travelers to group retreats. Miguel was exceptionally welcoming and helpful — he is the groundskeeper and in charge of guests and built the adobe structures, outdoor pizza ovens, and sauna. The property is home to a variety of animals– llamas, bobcats, emus, goats, chickens, and friendly talking parrots and cockatoos! Many of the animals were rescues of some sort. There’s a pool and jacuzzi and several different lodging options for guests — big houses/​lodges where you could come with a group or maybe rent individual rooms, a few trailers, and awesome custom-​built adobe huts (where i stayed). I stayed in the «Hobbit Hut» and the name pretty much says it al. It was a cozy round hut with colored glass windows and a skylight, an electric heater built in, and a double bed. I was very comfortable and slept amazingly well. In the morning, I walked down the street to a nearby coffee shop and spent some time reading and walking around the grounds. At lunch, Miguel offered me some of his homemade pizza for lunch, which was delicious! I would vote it the most unique and enjoyable 24 hour stopover I could have asked for!

Staying here was a truly terrifying experience. The accommodations were in no way clean and the entire compound was creepy and cultish. The owners of the place failed to mention that the house we rented was over a basement that people would be coming and going from with out our knowledge so that was a fun (horrible) surprise. Everything felt dirty, the animals were depressing, and the decorations were cultural appropriation at its worst. It was so bad we left the second night even though we payed and didn’t get a refund. I would never stay here and would not recommend it to others unless you like drinking the kool-​aid sleeping dirty sheets

If you want to feel like you are immersed in the middle of a cult of lost people following a Big Ego Leader, here you go. If you want to stay in a place that keeps you up all night with Egyptian-​worship partying, this is the place for you. If you’d like to see beautiful wild cats in tiny enclosures with no place to run, hunt, explore, well you’ve arrived. The roaming peacocks are great, the garden area lovely. Eccentric, maybe. Restful no. Disturbing, yes.

All I can say is AWESOME.
We had our Jewish wedding at Isis Oasis with 120 guests from a Friday night to Monday morning. This included the rehearsal dinner catering and ceremony catering. We rented the whole place, 65 beds, for a full 2 days and rented various cabins the other night.
First, if you are thinking about Isis for your wedding, you should know that this is not the place you want to go if you are trying to have a ‘perfect’ wedding. As Lady Loreon says, «We don’t do perfect». What they do do is offer a very relaxed atmosphere, awesome amenities, and fun for all your guests in wine country at a very reasonable price. This place is quirky and with it comes really happy guests and a relaxing weekend for everyone.
The staff is amazing. They are not your typical catering staff, these are people that live on the property and are invested in the well being of the animals, buildings and atmosphere. They couldn’t have been more helpful, charming and quirky (which we liked). We had tons of compliments on how helpful and genuine they were. I felt like they were guests at our wedding because they were so emotionally invested in making sure everything went according to plan. I was truly impressed.
The food was a risk for us. We hadn’t tasted it before or talked with anyone who had eaten it. All we knew was they used to operate a restaurant which has few, but great reviews. We just trusted that they would come through and be able to handle the volume of people. THEY DID! The food was priced way under any catering service and they did an excellent job. The timing and flow was amazing. This is not top of the line catering, but it was great buffet style food at a very reasonable price. Everyone was fed and happy. People went back for seconds and complimented us on the food.
All the rooms and accommodations were clean and comfortable for everyone. Most of the accommodations are dorm style and even our NYC guests felt comfortable and relaxed.
Everyone loved the pool, unique buildings, the animals, trails, people and vibe of the place. Plus it’s about one driveway away from ‘downtown’ Geyserville, so no need to drive or shuttle around the entire weekend. Everything was in one location, which is so nice.
If you are going to have a major event here, you have to be OK with trusting that they will come through without having a lot of oversight of their process and stressful planning. They have a mellow way about managing events, which may not be comfortable for some people. We are big ‘planners’ and their style might not have worked well for us, but for how unique the place is and how reasonably priced it was, we were willing to work with their style and trust that they would come through. I am so glad we did, it was the best decision we made for the entire wedding. We are still hearing compliments on the venue and all the fun stories that came out of the weekend.
The entire wedding weekend went unbelievably well. For a pseudo DIY wedding, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Plus, getting married under a 600 year old tree is pretty amazing in itself. I can’t thank the staff enough and Lady Loreon for her vision and leadership in creating such a unique place.
We will be a reference for them anytime.

Originally found this place by accident and could not be happier. I stayed in the Hobbit House with my girlfriend and had our own private escape from the rest of the world. We looked to other hotels and AirBNBs in the area and we shocked that we might spend over $ 100 at Motel 6, or $ 150 for a room in someones apartment. At Isis Oasis, you will have a truly unique experience with helpful and genuinely kind staff.
The owner Loreon was always available and helped us with whatever we needed. We met their chief architect Miguel, who built the Hobbit House, as well as their animal wildlife and rescue expert Jim who took us to see their exotic cats, twice. Did they mention that they have exotic cats? Got to get up close and personal with servals, ocelots and a bobcat named Moffit who cuddled all over me and drooled on my shoes.
You can walk the grounds and see other exotic birds, hang out in their hammock or take a dip in their pool/​hot tub. There are also numerous fire pits, outdoor chairs and benches for relaxing. Again, the staff will help meet whatever your request is, and has loads of other handy things in their office and restaurant.
This place is great for anyone, any couple or any group seeking to do something different and is comfortable getting little weird. I say that because if you are not comfortable with sharing a bathroom or using a communal kitchen, you probably are better off paying the wine region premium for motel/​hotel. If however, you want a unique experience, at a reasonable price, within proximity to many vineyards, then I would make sure that you don’t miss this place.

This is a story about rainbows and butterflies… and oh yeah, bobcats.
We booked this place for a friend’s birthday weekend and it was perfect. It is in the middle of nowhere, but that adds to the magic. It literally does feel like you’ve escaped modern day and gone back to ancient Egypt. We all had rooms on the first floor in the main Lodge close to each other. Of course, my room was named «Isis», as is pretty much everything here.
By day, we lounged by the pool and sweated it out in the sauna. By night, we enjoyed freshly made pizzas from the clay oven, yummy burgers from the BBQ, and then fun games in the big hall. The next morning, I awakened to an all-​you-​can-​eat breakfast and a tour of the grounds and animal sanctuary. They have some interesting birds (that will talk to you) and a lot of bobcats (some that you can pet) here — great if you’re an animal lover or have kids.
It was truly a unique experience and a very relaxing, inexpensive getaway.

Pros:
— the cabin was in a secluded area of the land
— lots of cool exotic looking animals
— loved the cabin’s bathroom (marbled)
— walking distance to nearby restaurant Diavola Pizzeria (they serve really good pasta, haven’t tried their pizza)
— also in walking distance to liquor store if you wanted to get you’re ingredients for a drink in the jacuzzi
— the cabin comes with a private hot tub (we didn’t use it though bc we didn’t know how to make it hotter)
— loved that there was a TV/​DVD player/​cable.
— There is a sauna, pool, and jacuzzi near the office, but the pool isn’t heated. The jacuzzi works. But the in order to heat the sauna, you need to put one of the knob # to a low #…like 2.
— Loreon was such a great host… she even left the fireplace on in the cabin for us before our arrival.
Cons:
— no window curtains at the cabernet cabin at all. I didn’t like the sun being able to wake me up at 7am through the uncovered windows on my «vacation». If we weren’t in a «secluded» area of the land, I’d have a problem with this bc I don’t want to be changing or showering and there are no curtains available to provide privacy. At least the large window in the bathroom fogs up when you shower.

A comfortable, well appointed, and trippy place to stay in Sonoma wine country. We stayed in the cottage and it was spotless. My friend and I both wished it was our house, great windows and vistas, stained glass, comfy and attractive furniture, functional kitchen, plush king bed, and private hot tub. We picked fresh figs off the tree outside. This place is an experience and not for the traveler who prefers standard hotel amenities. Great place for cycling holiday.

I’ve been visiting Isis at least once a year for the last 12 or so. And I always leave feeling blessed to have this unique getaway available to me. It’s difficult to make a comparison to any other retreat center I’ve ever been to, it’s truly one of a kind. It wouldn’t be fare to a Hyatt Hotel to ask where the Temple was located, or the exotic cat exhibit, or to expect to be joined by a wild turkey on your afternoon walk. Loren has carefully crafted a retreat center that’s warm and friendly, relaxing, comfortable and completely unique. It’s in a class all by itself and holds five stars. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Isis Oasis is a fascinating Californian destination. It’s the ancient Egyptian equivalent to Swami’s down in Encinitas. As Swami’s attempts to recreate India in the Southland, so does Lady Loreon try to recreate the mysticism of ancient Egypt. There are recreations of temples, and on Sunday afternoons, Lady Loreon gives a tour/​discussion.
There’s a little lodge with each room named for a goddess. There’s a zoo of sorts with various cats and birds. It’s part zoo/​part spiritual retreat, not unlike the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Ukiah that’s part Buddhist monastery/​retreat center/​temple/​vegetarian restaurant.
Isis Oasis is a serene place secreted among the vineyards and redwoods. It’s like finding Cairo in Sonoma. A definite Wine Country destination.
