Dr. Cohen is a Certified Pettibon Instructor/Practitioner, Certified Clinical Chiropractic Neurologist, and is in active study for Clinical Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
History
Established in 2003.
Dr. Cohen and his wife moved from Chicago to Gig Harbor to start the clinic at the invitation of the world-reknowned Dr. Burl Pettibon. It opened in late 2003 as Gig Harbor Spine & Posture Rehabilitation Center. In 2008, we became simply, Backbone.
Since opening Backbone, Dr. Cohen has completed his Certification in Clinical Neurology and is now 50% through the required coursework for Certification in Clinical Nutrition. He was already Certified in Spinal Biomechanics and Posture Correction by the Pettibon Institute.
We are known for offering hope and healing for the most difficult of cases with a holistic approach to health care that takes us far beyond traditional chiropractic.

Dr. Cohen is a Certified Pettibon Practitioner, Certified Clinical Chiroppractic Neurologist, and working towards completion of Certified Clinical Nutritionist. He has been in practice for almost 10 years, most of which has been in the Gig Harbor area.
As a health advocate, he has numerous speaking opportunites in the community to share his knowledge on numerous health and wellness topics.
Active in the community, he has served on the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce board of directors for over 5 years, is the immediate-past chairman of the board and helped start the Chamber’s Ambassador Program.
He has partnered with non-profit organizations like the Pierce County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the Gig Harbor Boys & Girls Club.
