Old style fast food place with a really nice family that operates it, Great fries. Very good burgers. I love the shrimp burger with a side of chili! They are a little slow in production but worth the wait. Always fresh. If you are looking for snooty upscale… not it. If you are looking for authentic 60’s style Hole in the wall” fast food this is a perfect example.

Skip this place and go to the Un named Taco Truck around the corner. This place wasn’t even mediocre. It was bad. I didn’t think you could screw up a cheese burger, but they did. It was bland. The fries had an odd taste to them. To top it off, you could smell the restrooms.

Not Good at all. Inside was filthy! Went there when it was not busy at all, and the kid was just sitting behind the counter doing nothing. Cleanliness is everything!

The most filthy place I’ve ever eaten! I was worried we were going to get food poisoning. The ketchup bottles were disgusting. I wouldn’t let my kids eat their burgers. Dirt everywhere!!! The fries are great and I think I remember them having good milkshakes but they seriously need to clean. I don’t know how they ever survived a health inspection! Yuck!!!

The food was OKAY. Nothing special about the burger, tasted like a backyard burger to me. The fries were obviously straight from a bag, and we asked for them to be extra crispy, which didn’t happen. There wasn’t an abundance of flavor in anything. The strawberry shake was amazing, otherwise I would’ve given 1 or 2 stars! The workers were net very personal. Seemed like I was waisting their time looking at the menu, although there was no one in line behind us. They charge 89¢ for a side of ranch… Ugh Overall I was wishing for a grander experience.

Amazing how some of the best food in America is found in the strangest places that you would never find anywhere else

This is just a little ma & pa place and it’s super delicious. Seems like the whole family works there which is cool. They try very hard to make their old fashioned burger joint burgers taste like EXACTLYTHAT. Drive in delicious. Cheers to Dexter’s!

I was there this last week and was very disappointed. I love little Mom and Pop drive inns. This was the first time I have eaten there. I was alone and ordered a cheese burgar combo. The gal helping me was very sweet and helpful. I asked for Ketchup only on the burgar and asked for it to go. After I paid I asked for my drink cup and she said a combo didn’t include a drink. I thought for 13 bucks it should have. She gave me a cup and said I will throw it in since I didn’t clarify. When my meal came up I saw two meals in the bag. I told her I only ordered one. She said oops. .I rang you up for two. Instead of waiting any longer I left since I needed to get back to seattle. I opened the bag and found the fries to be under cooked… raw and cold. I opened the hamburger to have it fully loaded with all the fixings. I’m allergic to onions. I checked the second hamburger. .again full of onions. I had to throw the entire meal out and would have taken it back if I hadn’t already gone threw the toll booth. I couldn’t tell you how it tasted. I was the only customer they had. Wrong order, under cooked food and could have killed me if I had bitten into that burgar without checking since it had onions and not was ketchup only. I won’t be back and would not recommend it to anyone.

I have to say… the best part about Dexter’s are their fries! Their burgers are good, but not mind blowing. I think they’re better than McDonald’s though. I loved coming here during high school and I’m glad they’re still in business so I can come by once or twice a year to grab a burger. Their milkshakes are pretty darn good!

Good milkshakes! Hamburgers not so good, my kids was almost inedible with what seemed like a ¼ cup of yellow mustard, the dog still ate her half. The oyster sandwich was really good.

Order: Combo #1(Dexter Burger w/Bacon and Cheese + Fries) Burger Layout: Bun, Sauce, Bacon, Cheese, Burger, Lettuce, Onion, Pickle, Sauce, Bun Cost: $ 7.50 Fries: Dreadfully boring and unseasoned Dexter’s Drive-In has been on my list of places to stop by for well over a year now. They have a sign directing traffic off Highway 16 that advertises one thing about all else: They are open 365 days a year. While it’s nice that you can get their food at any time, the question was now whether I want their food any and every day of the year. After a quick stop by this week, the answer is a resounding«NO». Dexter’s does one thing right. They use some nice quality beef and you can taste the freshness. No freezer patties here. I will now commence the complaints. Meat was very underseasoned, if seasoned at all. Meat was cooked at so low a temperature that there wasn’t any crust at all. Bacon was limp and boring. The bun added nothing. The cheese wasn’t melted enough. Their sauce(relish and mayo) had little flavor and they used too much of it. Fries were straight out of the freezer and didn’t even come salted. 2⁄5

Went to high school next door went to eat here quite often its good greasy cheap food burgers, chili fires, mozz sticks. Its a fun atmospehere when its full of students they even have a little window that you can stand outside and order food through it.

From the reviews I thought this would blow my mind. What I soon realized that this is probably more about nostalgia than food. I had the Dexter cheeseburger(. 50 more for cheese) and the combo doesn’t include drink. The cheeseburger did taste fresh and moderate size. Fries were crispy but a bit too salty. Overall its nothing to write home about. My wife had the chicken strips and said they weren’t that good but took a bite of my hamburger and said that was tastier. Not sure if it was just the time i was there but all but one table was dirty. Though the bathroom was suprisingly clean. If I could I would rate this 3.5 stars.

Was randomly driving through the area, decided to I was too hungry to travel any further, this place was the first I drove past. Got a milkshake, double burger and fries. Milkshake = pretty awesome. Possibly the best milkshake I have ever had? Not sure what they did to it to make it so great, but it was really rich and flavorful. Double burger = nothing to complain about. Fries = crispy and fresh Punchline — a pretty solid place to get some cheap eats.

So I went for a little drive and wound up at Dexter’s. Wanted to try it after reading a few Unilocaler’s comments. I ordered the Dexter Double Burger and fries. The Burger was big with three pieces of bread to seperate the two patties, but there was nothing special about it except that it was only 5.75. I just was expecting more from it. Don’t get me wrong it was good but not 4 stars good. Maybe I need to try the pizza next time.

This little burger joint has been there for as long as I’ve been alive! It has the very best burgers in the world(or at least that I’ve eaten so far). I’ve been eating there since childhood and although the name has changed, the burgers never have. The same cook has worked there for as long as I remember. The milkshakes are awesome! It’s totally worth the ten minute wait for your food. There’s no other place like it! But I guess my feelings are a little bit bias since this place is «home» to me and gives me that warm feeling of childhood. It brings back a lot of memories. Truly a tiny gem in my opinion. And there aren’t many of those left. Especially in purdy.

This is a tiny little place with take out such as burgers and what not. Delicious though and they have the best milk shakes around!

My boyfriend and I didn’t feel like driving far from his place and we saw Dexter’s and decided to give it a try. They have burgers, desserts, and pizza, among other things. It was our first time and we just wanted something quick and simple so decided to go with the pizza. We were given the option of for there or take & bake. We went with the take & bake and their instructions led to perfect cooking. The crust of the pizza left a bit to be lacking, but for a quick fix for dinner it was better than a frozen one. The toppings were surprisingly good. We had a garlic chicken with Alfredo sauce. The sauce was actually delicious and the chicken was just the right amount of flavor. They were out of artichoke hearts, but that wasn’t the end of the world to me and they did offer to substitute something else. I foresee us coming back here in the future for quick dinner fixes. There’s also a bit of seating if you’re not in a hurry and want to linger.

This is how I spent my summers: french fries dipped in strawberry milkshake. And it was glorious and my metabolism could keep up with it.
