I had Britni fix a very bad lopsided haircut I had received at a another hair salon. When I called I talk to a wonderful receptionist who I wish I remember her name since she was so great! She recommended Britni after I explained my situation and got me in the next day.
I showed up a nervous mess and left feeling on top of the world. Britni gave me the EXACT haircut I wanted. She was so easy to communicate with. Extremely professional and gave me a fantastic haircut. All my friends and family have been telling how great my hair looks and how this haircut is there favorite. Yeah she did an awesome job.
My whole experience from calling to getting my hair done was nothing but enjoyable.
I am so happy to have found an Aveda salon and Britni. I look forward to seeing her again!

I am very picky about my hair. I have long thick natural curly hair and I like Big Texas hair and not all stylist know this cut/​style. I like volume on the top and that is very hard for most stylist.
My first visit with Emilio and I must say that I am love my hair. I have my layers back and the big hair is great. My family was so happy that I finally found a stylist in AZ. I relocated to AZ from Texas and have tried several stylist, but I always end up back in Texas for my hair cut. Nothing like having a happy hair day!!!

20 Volume Salon is beautiful without being pretentious. I am always greeted warmly and offered a drink while I wait. Emilio is my magician of choice. He understands how important it is to listen to you and he always has suggestions that I never thought of too. Neck and hand massage, the full package!
In the unfortunate event that you can’t get in to see him when you need to, try Mercedez. She gave me a beautiful up-​do for a wedding and I received so many compliments!

Great job by Emilio. I was pampered with a neck massage and hand massage too while receiving a shampoo. His styling genius was amazing. I love my new cut. The salon was very relaxing and calming. The staff was pleasant and professional. Definitely a must go.

I love Aveda so I did a search on Unilocal for Aveda salons near me. I live right down the street and I never knew this salon existed. I am definitely glad I found it! I saw Emilio he was very knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted. I would highly recommend this salon if your near Gilbert.

Britni is amazing! She always listens to what it is I’m trying to achieve and is able to bring my visions to life. And when I need guidance she is extremely helpful and knowledge. She loves what she does and it shows in the quality of her work. I always leave feeling gorgeous after getting my hair done by her. My experience with her couldn’t be any better. I will continue to get my hair done exclusively by her! I highly recommend her.

If you’re looking for consistently awesome results, Britni is your girl! I have been going to Britni for over 5 years now. She is one amazing & talented hairstylist… so good in fact I followed her from Maricopa to Gilbert! She’s 100% worth the drive & highly recommended :)

Emilio is a hoot and did such a great job on my hair! I was there for an hour and the results look like I was there for two hours. I already made an appointment for next time. Regarding the salon, it’s very clean and cozy and the overall service was excellent.

My whole experience was great. The second I went through their doors, I was immediately welcomed. I was able to relax and sip on a glass of wine while I waited for Emilio who was as sweet as can be. He is an incredible stylist and really knows what he’s doing. I’ve found my new go-​to! Thanks Emilio!

LOVE Emilio! He does such an amazing job and really cares. He listens to what I want and takes the time to make it look perfect. The prices are reasonable and I absolutely love Aveda products!

Emilio was very detailed and passionate about making my hair look fabulous! I appreciate a stylist that doesn’t rush and who gets excited about giving me a different look. On top of that, he is incredibly talented.

I am so picky when it comes to my hair. I have such a thick hair and that’s why it is hard for me to find a good styler who can do a good job with it.
Now I can say that I looove Emilio and I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else, he always does a terrific job. He also does my daughter’s hair. Just great!

I am so absurdly happy with my haircut I received from Deanna!!! I have been researching salons extensively for several weeks in anticipation of my big chop. I had thick, waist length hair and hadn’t had a hair cut in several years so I was so nervous. I chose 20 Volume salon 75% based on their Unilocal reviews and 25% based on the fact they are an Aveda salon (I use Aveda products at home). Well, they sure did live up to their reviews! When I called to set up the appointment I asked if anyone in particular was good with thick hair and I was assured everyone would be okay working with my type of hair. So I let the receptionist put me with the first available. Deanna was who I ended up with and she sat me down and we spoke about what I wanted. I showed her some pictures I found of the kind of cut I wanted but with modifications even to that. She nodded her head and seemed like she knew exactly what I was talking about but I was still nervous when she started chopping away. She told me what she was doing the entire time and I really just trusted her judgement. When she finished, it was like she took the picture I had in my head of how I wanted my hair to look and worked her magic on it. I was like a giddy little kid on Christmas morning! I have definitely found my new hairdresser I’ve never been so happy with a hair cut! Thank you so much Deanna for a great experience and I will see you in a couple months!

My first visit to this salon and I am in love with it. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you will experience a good vibe. I had been going to the same hairstylist for 4 years but I wanted a change. I did my research online for a good place and found this place I was a little insecure about it but I was worth it.
Prices are normal, I paid $ 150 for a cut, color and style (including tips).
Emilio is amazing, he asked what I wanted and he also gave me his point of view… I just have to say that I love his work.
I will keep coming back to this place.

I have always had trouble finding a good salon– this place was definitely better than many I’ve been to. I have very long hair that is on the thicker side so I’m not the easiest appointment for most stylists.
That being said my stylist, Mercedes, did a great job, she took the time to really find out what I wanted and recommended style tips and products that would help me get exactly that out of my hair.
The reception staff was courteous and offered drinks as I soon as I walked in, even though I was a couple minutes late for my appointment.
The scalp and hand massages were fantastic– of course– and everyone inside seemed very warm and welcoming.
Be advised: the prices on their website are not 100% correct!!! It says $ 30+ for a basic women’s haircut but the «menu» in store says $ 40+ and mine was $ 45. Not a biggie, the experience has worth fifty bucks, but do be advised, some of the other prices might be off as well.

I came here for about a year and it was ok, I was never really happy with the color but it was decent. Lately I noticed that my simple root touch up was getting pulled through and so I said several times please do not pull the root touch up dye through to the ends. I would like to keep the pretty blond highlights that God has given me naturally, and I just want the roots touched up with light brown.
Somehow, I would leave and when my hair dried it would be dark muddy brown from root to tip. This last time I specifically said, DO NOT pull it through because somehow, miraculously, I have been blessed with some nice blond highlights here in the AZ sun and I would like to keep them. No way, she said I won’t do that.
Yet, before my eyes, she took a small comb and pulled the dark black dye through my hair from root to tips. All over and particularly around my face — because, really who wants pretty blond highlights around their face?
When I confronted her, she said I am not pulling the dye through. Really? because now my blond hair is covered with sticky black dye. «No it isn’t.» Ok, I don’t drink but I felt a little woozy at that point. And, she began to get mad at me. Great! Just finish and get me out of here!
Once again, when my hair dried it was DARK brown from roots to tips, all over my head. No blond anywhere, at all. I finally got a copy of the formula they had been using, it was nowhere near the formula I had brought to them a year ago. No wonder the color was not ‘right.’ When I spoke to the manager she was very nice about it but I won’t be back. It will take weeks for any blond to come back at all, thank you very much!
PS — I don’t like writing these kinds of reviews and find them upsetting, I know the salon will learn from this and I will take down the review when I stop being so angry.

I have been going to Emilio since moving to Gilbert and I adore him. He is sweet, fun, entertaining and has wonderful ideas and I never leave with my hair short of perfect.
I watch the other ladies do hair as I get mine done and everyone who leaves the Salon looks incredible. I doubt you could go wrong here.
Tip: sign up for the aveda rewards program and you get points from purchasing products, every so many points you get 75 off a salon service. Huge money saver.

Ah, Emilio… He lived up to the reviews on Unilocal.I looked for an Aveda salon near my new neighborhood, and found 20 Volume Salon & Spa. It’s a beautiful salon on the NWC of Val Vista and Williams Field. Emilio must be good, because it was 2.5 weeks before I could get in to see him.
I brought three magazines with pictures of colors and styles marked, ready to review with Emilio. It had been a while since I’d had a trim and color done. My color was a bit too dark for my complexion, and I also wanted new highlights. He brought my base hair color up a notch or two, closer to my real hair color, and did the best possible with highlights, given that my hair had been so dark before. He also evened out my many layers so that they flow well together for curl and volume. I’ve received compliments already, and it’s been less than a week!
I LOVED the eucalyptus oil he used for a neck and shoulder massage, and bought some for home (goodness knows I need it for the stress of work!). I’d also never heard of the great volume tonic he used on my hair, and I use Aveda products almost exclusively. He showed me the products he used, and I bought the couple I didn’t already have at home.

My experience at 20 Volume Salon & Spa was way more than expected! It’s a beautiful salon in a very nice area. Lots of things to do near by if you ever have to wait. I just wanted a trim. I had 7 inches of length cut off by my last stylist and all I wanted was a trim. Eeeek! That said, I was terrified to get my hair trimmed again. I’ve had many bad stylist in the past just for a trim. How does one mess up a trim, I don’t understand.
After researching like a mad woman for a good stylist, I came across 20 Volume Salon & Spa. The reviews on Unilocal sold me. I booked an appointment the same day… on New Year’s Eve! I was told I would get Emillio as my stylist. I remember reading great things about him on Unilocal,so I was pretty excited and confident it would go well.
Sure enough… it did! Better than expected! Emillio is such a sweetheart and made me feel completely at ease getting my hair trimmed. We talked about my hair and what I wanted. He never once pushed what he thought I should do. I’ve had many stylist want to do all kinds of things to my long/​straight natural hair. Emillio listened to my concerns and was very easy to talk to.
Before we walked over to wash my hair, he gave me an ahhh-​mazing neck and shoulder rub with a wonderful smelling oil! Holy COW I’ve never had one before and I was in Heaven! I was completely relaxed (I’m a mom of 3 little ones so that’s rare… lol).
As he got me set up to wash my hair, he put a nice warm towel under my neck and made sure I was comfortable. I’ve never experienced being pampered like this… and as I was comfy in my seat, he gave me a relaxing hand message with lovely smelling lotion. I was in awe! As he washed my hair, he let me know what Aveda products he was using and how they worked. He’s very knowledgeable with the Aveda products and how to use them.
Finally came the trim. He was quick and precise. He put a few products in my hair, blow dried it and turned me around in the chair to look in the mirror… BAM! I had beautiful, bouncy, volumized hair! I LOVED it! I know it was just a trim, but he put so much more work into it than just a trim and it just looked amazing! He’s got the salon touch and it shows greatly through his work. You can tell he is very passionate about his career.
The only sad part is I am moving. The day I find THE perfect stylist is the day I move. But, I’ll only be 2 hours away and I think the service he provided is well worth the drive.
I highly recommend him and I will definitely spread the word about this ahhh-​mazing salon! If you want to be pampered and feel like a Queen. or King… you should definitely go!
