Brunswick Zone XL Gilbert Lanes

I really love this place. They have a decent arcade complete with bumper cars, and they’ve recently added laser tag which is super fun. The employees all seemed really nice, except for the guy who rang me up, of course. I think you might want to retrain them with regards to explaining the pricing. My son and I bowled 2 games, and it wasn’t until after I paid that I realized I could have bought summer passes for just a few dollars more. The price for 2 games was absolutely outrageous, but the Summer pass really looked like a good deal. Oh well.
Then I ask him how much it would be to add laser tag, and he says, «ummm, probably, like, $ 6 a person?» So I add on 2 laser tag tickets. We get to the laser area, and there’s a sign informing me that on Wednesdays (the day I was there…), they have unlimited laser tag for $ 10! So again, I could have paid a few extra bucks and got unlimited games. Why didn’t he tell me that when I asked if there were any specials? I specifically asked if there were any laser tag deals going on.
That kind of shit makes me stabby, because when I worked in the service industry, I always told customers the best deals, or made sure I rang them up in a way that would save them money. Sure, I should have noticed your sign, I suppose, but how about some customer service for a mom who might have her eye on a child and not your signage? This employee couldn’t be bothered and he could have seriously up sold a bunch of things yesterday!

Bowling fun night with the family. Unfortunately, I lost something of mine. If anyone can find my ring I lost it tonight at lane 20.
Its a sterling silver with rose in the middle. Nothing fancy but my high school sweetheart gave it to me back in 2009. :(It would mean a lot if someone found it. Thank you

Terrible management. Bought two summer passes for $ 85. Go to bowl early Saturday morning at 10 a.m. when they open. There is hardly anyone in the place. The lights are on and normal.
They said they would keep them on our side until 12.
An hour later they turn the lights off and it turns into the so called cosmic bowling… It stayed that way the rest of the day.
No chance to really bowl. Also, there were french fries on the floor and the table had all sticky stuff on it probably from drinks the night before. Hey, who is managing this place?
Asked manager Jason what times can we bowl with lights on — in the morning like you said?
He says: «No. We will turn the light off any time we want.»
Felt like a slap in the face.
Asked for a refund of the $ 85. He said, «Go call the company.»
AKA the runaround.
Brunswick gives no refunds on summer pass coupons!
If you really want to bowl… avoid Brusnwick XL Gilbert… or is it Bowlero?

We just had our son’s birthday party here last week, it was great! Originally we were planning on Fat Cats, but the cost made us look at other places, and I’m glad we did. The sales representative really took care of us, and the experience at the lanes was amazing, we definitely will be returning, they made my son feel like a million dollars

We have loved going here on many dates. My brother and I even bought our own shoes because we went so much. I personally haven’t tried their food before, but I just use my email coupons for the games.

My daughter’s birthday was this weekend, we had a groupon to use for bowling and you can’t call ahead and reserve a lane on those… so we just chanced it and went… when we got there, they said it would be a 3 hour wait. I was about to cry (no not literally) the manager was amazing! Someone hadn’t checked in so they gave us a lane and her bday was a success! Thank you so much to that manager and CSR for letting us have a lane. My daughter had an AMAZING day!
They also did the laser tag and loved it!

Just checking in takes forever. One person checking people in two others standing behind the counter doing nothing. One of them obviously a manager. I guess manager at Brunswick means do nothing. At our lanes dirty dishes stacked up at most of the tables and nobody cleaning anything. Bowled for 20 min and not once did a server come by to take an order. If you want to just bowl go somewhere else. We went on a Sunday at noon. Not even that busy they just don’t know how to give any service. The place is very understaffed.

I am a really avid bowler so I thought it would be fun to come here on my birthday. I was wrong. I have never been to a place to anti-​consumer as this one. Allow me to explain:
I came here on Saturday, April 23^rd with a group of 4 peolple. If you weren’t aware, there was a large fire in the area that day. The fire was so big that it made national news. The police shut down Gilbert from Warner to Ray so we could not leave the bowling alley. This also meant that nobody could enter the bowling alley either. The place was pretty dead and our (extremely expensive) time was almost up on our lane. We wanted to get some more time on our lane so that we could at least bowl to kill time until they opened the road again.
At this point, we have been giving this place a lot of money. We had purchased 3 pitchers of beer, 4 shots of tequila, and 2 glasses of wine and food. How much would you expect another hour of bowling to be if we were stuck there and they were not gaining any new customers? $ 15? $ 20? Free since it was my birthday and we couldn’t leave?
Wrong. They had the audacity to offer us 30 more minutes of bowling for $ 40. This is only for 4 people. That isn’t even enough time for a full game. I have never heard of such insane prices in all of my years of bowling. They totally took advantage of the fact that we were stuck there. We had to actually negotiate with them to get them to bring that price down. Totally ridiculous.
Not only that though, we had a lane open right next to us the whole night. There were a couple slow bowlers in the group so we kindly asked them to open that lane up as well. Nope. They wouldn’t do it. It would have cost them nothing to open it up but they didn’t do it anyway. I have never had that problem at AMF or any other bowling company when I have asked. Especially when the place was so dead. They had the opportunity to keep us there so that we keep buying drinks, but they were so greedy that they wouldn’t do anything to help the customer out. It really seemed like they did not want us to be there.
Really dumb move by them in the end though. I used to come to this alley all the time and they could have made so much more money off of me. Now I will gladly take my business to AMF from now on. AMF is much cheaper and they have better lanes anyway. The only reason I came here was because it was close to my house. If you are reading this, please consider going somewhere else. You will not have a good experience here. I have never had such a bad experience at a bowling alley, and they really made my birthday the exact opposite of fun.

Do not try to make a reservation here. You will spend at least 15 minutes on the phone giving useless personal information. You also have to prepay for everything to even reserve the lane. Doesn’t really work out well when you have multiple parties who are paying separately. I definitely took my business elsewhere.

This is my second attempt at taking the kids bowling… well, apparently this place is solely for league bowling. They may as well say that or at least take reservations. Which is also a downer that won’t take reservations but fill every lane before 5pm… cool… I will not ever be going back to this place…

I have brought my kids here on and off for several years, despite long waits, poor service, problems with lanes breaking down, and not enough staff. A lot of the staff have been very friendly and personable, a few have been downright rude; they seem chronically understaffed, and I always feel badly for the people at the front desk.
The last time we went there, the kids were out of school for President’s Day, February 15. We met a friend there around noon and waited a while in line to get our lanes. They swiped my credit card and set us up. I ordered some fries, drinks and later a pizza as a treat for the kids and the wait person, Destiny, took my credit card to start a tab. She informed me that she wasn’t supposed to work and it was her day off, so I guess she wasn’t too thrilled to be there. We had very long waits for the food, but that’s typical and I was prepared since the waitress had indicated she wasn’t supposed to be working. I tipped her well, trying to be nice since she was unhappy about having to work.
Checking out took a long time as the line was long and only one girl was working at the front desk, but we finally got things taken care of and left.
Two hours after we got home, I got an email notification about a charge on my credit card (I get email notifications for any charges made on this card). I hadn’t used the card for anything since we had been bowling, so I checked the charge and saw it was for Brunswick. This was an extra $ 118 plus a $ 10 tip on top of the charges for the food and bowling from earlier in the day. It was very clearly a mistake since the charges were placed hours after we left.
I called the bowling alley and spoke to Kenn about the charges. He took down all of the information — the transaction numbers on the receipts that I had, the amounts of the valid charges and the amount for the extra charge made after we left. He said that he would give the information to the general manager and have them look into it.
The next day, I called back to check on things since I hadn’t gotten a call from anyone. I spoke to Kenn again, and he said that he was going to give the information to the general manager as soon as the GM came out of an interview. He would ask the GM what was going to happen, and call me back if the GM wasn’t going to call me. I never heard back from Kenn or the GM. The following day, Wednesday, the charges went through on the credit card (charges will show as pending for a couple of days then clear after that). No word from Brunswick. I called again and was put on hold, then cut off. Called back, spoke with Amanda, a shift manager or something, and she said that she was going to call the GM that night or the next morning and either have the GM tell her how to have the charge removed or have the GM remove the charge if she was not able to do it herself. I asked her to call me to confirm that it had been done, and she assured me that she would. We never heard from Kenn, Amanda or the GM — not a soul from Brunswick bothered to call us.
We finally filed a dispute with the credit card company and a report with the Better Business Bureau. Brunswick never responded to the BBB. The credit card company finally received a credit of $ 118, but no credit for the $ 10 ‘tip’ that was charged on the card.
I am thoroughly disgusted and incredulous that a business would not only keep a credit card number and charge an additional $ 128 on it, but that they would not bother to respond to multiple phone calls, a BBB report and a credit card dispute!
My kids liked bowling there and it was convenient, but I will never set foot in that place again. They are an extremely poorly run business that has shown me that despite my long time patronage, they could care less about their customers, and have no problem using credit card numbers that they apparently keep to make extra charges. I would advise anyone that goes there to avoid using credit cards or keep a very, very close eye on charges made on that card after using it at Brunswick.

A disaster. By far, in my 43 years on this planet, the worst customer service I’ve ever received at any Establishment. I would avoid this place like the plague. The plague actually may have better manners…

Was at Brunswick Zone XL Gilbert Lanes for my company’s team appreciation event the past weekend. Our party was in one of the private rooms, it was set up nicely, there was a few small issues with the food that was ordered and what we were offered, but Brunswick quickly offered solutions for the problems, they had superb customer service.
I am the worst bowler, I try, but it just doesn’t work, unless I use the bumpers and well I wasn’t going to. Normally I just don’t bowl, but I can say I had a fun time bowling.
We were comp’d some free games of laser tag, now that was a fun time, its 2 stories and pretty spread out so you don’t feel like your over crowded, it was a group of 9 of us, solo missions, we were given a brief explanation of rules and then set free to play. I don’t even know how long we were playing but it was a lot of fun. Your gun has a name on it, and that’s your name for the game and at the end you find out where you places amongst your friends, and well I came in 7^th haha, but who cares!
They have a small area for arcade games, stuff the younger ones would like, some ice ball, basketball, bumper cars and air hockey too.
It was a fun time, Im just not a bowler but if you are, this is your place to go.

I’ve always loved bowling here. The front desk service is great, general area is always clean and I enjoy the music that they play. Their bowling balls are well organized in different section of the area. I prefer to play bowling where the couches are. It is comfy and relaxing while waiting for your turn to play the game. If you are bored, they even converted part of the bars area into a laser tag room. I have not played it here, but glad to know it is an option. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 star is because they no longer offer better prices for the games. We used to be able to pay a low price for 2 hour that includes limited games and shoes… unfortunately they no longer offered that.

WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! Came here to take the kids bowling. They had open lanes and said lanes would be available over the phone. However when we arrived 30 min later they had rented out 90% of the facility for a private party! They still had lanes available, but refused to allow us to bowl!
FYI if you want to reserve a lane it has to be 24hrs in advance, on the flip side you can apparently rent the whole place with zero notice!!!

Really nice place and well maintained. Yes, it is a bit pricey as others have noted but we appreciate the friendly team and nice environment. We hosted my daughters birthday party here about a year ago and it was very nice as they took care of everything. Our hostess was awesome with the kids! When we’ve come as a family just to play we’ve always had a good time. And I appreciate that there’s a good variety in the prize center.

Look at my reviews. It’s hard for me to give 2 stars. This place was HORRIBLE!!! This place is EXPENSIVE!!! For a family of 4 playing 3 games with shoe rental, plan on spending $ 100. Pizza and a pitcher of soda– add in another $ 30. The only thing «Cosmic» about the experience is the prices.
The cosmic bowling (or maybe its just this business that sucks) in California is so different! In CA, they have stickers on the pins and if the stickered pins are the head pins, one wins prizes. There are contests that win prizes. The pins are glow in the dark. There is no country music playing. The do dancing between «rounds». It’s DJ’d. At this place, it’s boring. Just lights off and spinning lights.. Nothing special about it.
As for the staff!!! 4 people assisting with «shoes» and 1 person ringing people up. Shoe people can’t ring up CUSTOMERS even if there are 4 of them lounging around, eating popcorn, doing absolutely NOTHING! No waitress in sight so I went to the café to order food myself. THEN, after having my first experience with a great employee in the café, she brought my food order to my table (it wasn’t even her job.) My waitress appeared. (WHAT? I don’t need anything «NOW!»)
We did have fun bowling but it’s bowling. We could have went on $ 2 Tues for the same thing. I thought Cosmic bowling would be more «interactive», more fun-​like how they do it in California/​more games/​contests along with the «cosmic bowling.» This is just bowling with the lights off. Hopefully another bowling alley has true «Cosmic» bowling.

Our last visit was closer to what we are used to experiencing, minus some really rude, obnoxious bowlers, which isn’t the fault of the bowling alley.
Thankfully the food servers were not the same as the time before, as the ones for this visit were fabulous.
Really wish bowlers would have good bowling etiquette, but most did not. A couple girls next to us, early 20s were a bit on the unaware of anyone around them, and I was talking to my husband about this a bit on the louder side so they could hear, and then they stopped their rudeness and began to have good etiquette.
On the other side of us was a family where the parents let their kids have very poor behavior from grabbing any bowling ball, getting into our lane just as we’re about to bowl, screaming, acting worse than rabid animals (minus the foaming at the mouth). Parents who fail to correct their kids, well, we can see how their kids will grow up to be — inconsiderate and thinking they are entitled to everything.
Okay, but it’s not the bowling alley’s fault for their customers.
I would have given the bowling alley a 5 star, but they had like all their shoes all over the counters and they kept giving us two left shoes. Well, if they just stored their shoes like they normally instead of all over the counters, this wouldn’t have happened.
So, this visit overall was much better. Guess it was better having people with poor etiquette than drunk people with poor etiquette. I wish there was such thing as privacy glass where you can just see people bowl but not hear them or be impacted by them, but that isn’t what bowling alleys are.

BUT…unless you can find a coupon, I suggest sign up for their email program and use them because 6 games, and shoes was $ 55! Glad I didn’t order any food, I’d be broke!
But we love this place and will be back again…

I’ll start by saying we had a lot of fun here. We started out in the arcade room which was honestly the best part. They have a great selection of games! You have to start by loading money onto a card and the card tracks your ‘tickets’ from each machine. They have a ticket redeeming room with games and candy.
The bowling area was nice and spacious for the most part, but our large group was stuck next to another large group and so we were kind of all over each other the whole time.
We also had an issue with one of the girls working the desk. There was some confusion over which lane we were supposed to be in, she had told us one thing, then told another person in our group something else and then gave us a whole mess of attitude when we were trying to untangle the mess.
On top of it when we attempted to pay it took about 30 minutes of them trying to figure out how much we owed and how to split it. It seemed pretty confusing and messy and wasn’t a fun way to end the evening.
