Darling Donuts

The Best Donuts in Arizona delicious, light and a lot to choose from. Very friendly staff a joy to go and get breakfast.
Nice way to start the day.

Ok, so full disclosure, I have never stepped foot in this store. HOWEVER, I have the good fortune of working with someone who lives nearby and has brought the doughnuts to the office several times, so I’m basing my review on that alone. That said, I have to say these are some of the most unique and delicious donuts I have ever tasted! Which is kind of saying a lot, as working where I do we get a wide variety brought in to us from all over the valley. THAT, and my first job was a donut shop… So yeah, I know my donuts and these puppies are the BEST!!! My only request is that you please open a shop I. scottsdale!!!

I have been meaning to review this place for awhile, however it didn’t work when I was there. The donuts are fantastic and the service was even better. I came here due to a craving and being stuck in traffic on my way back to Scottsdale. The lady was so helpful & nice. It is a small business which I love! The donuts were delicious… I need to go back again. I was there for about an hour and there was always someone coming in. So to a previous commenter about being out of donuts. They are FABULOUS & made fresh daily in their kitchen! I was there around 7am and it was nonstop! Even though their donuts remained fresh the whole day which is unusual, you can’t be disspointed if you go at 12pm or later… most donut places are low at that point.

We have tried to visit this store 3 times in the past week, due to the good reviews on Unilocal.
The first time we visited on a Tuesday around 3PM, on arrival the doors were locked and a sign read «Sold out, no more donuts».
A couple of days later we wanted to try again, so called the store at around 12PM to be told they only have a few left. We didn’t want to drive over again only to be disappointed.
Our third and final time, third time lucky you may be anticipating, we went to the store at 1PM on a Saturday and the cabinets were empty. There were not even enough donuts to fill a single tray, in a large cabinet with many trays. We left the store without purchase as the only remaining were nothing special.
In conclusion, we will not be revisiting the store and would advise other customers to definitely call ahead if you are traveling any distance to try this place. Perhaps the store should figure out how to supply their donuts better, or change their opening hours to reflect when they actually have stock.

This place is becoming my go to place for my donut fix. I love the chocolates coconut and the dozens holes for a buck.

Very friendly, and good quality donuts and drinks. Nothing super exceptional, though. Good, not great. If there were half stars, I would give this place 3.5. So, this is a solid choice for donuts, and it beats the chains– but there are a few superior donut shops in greater Phx.

This little place is fantastic! Their donut selection is amazing, and the service is always great. The maple bacon donut was my favorite until I tried the old fashioned, which became my favorite until I tried the bearclaw, which was my favorite until I tried the tiger’s tail, which was my favorite until… are you starting to get the picture here? Go in, grab yourself a dozen, and feel good about a) supporting a new, local business, and b) DOOONUUUUUUTS!!! The girl who runs the shop is always really nice– my girlfriend and I have been in here a few times and we’ve always really enjoyed our experience.
… matter of fact, we’re about to leave and get a dozen RIGHT NOW!!!

Ok so the service there is amazing. There was a lady behind the counter that selected all of my donuts for me but while talking she let me know that they do a special for birthdays for a free donut and drink … anyhoo — I was in there to get donuts for a company birthday celebration and she was very nice, even threw in an additional donut for the birthday boy. When I got to my office everyone thought they were amazing. I picked them up at 7:30 and they were still soft at 1pm! The location is convenient and the shop is cute. They really have the best selection in donuts but that’s about it, they said they had one type of bagel which of course I wanted others.
Will definitely be back and have told others about it as well

Seriously such a cute doughnut store. The two girls behind the counter (maybe the owners) were so sweet and the best customer service ever! Very helpful and kind.
I got a dozen donuts. Wow they had a huge variety.
For the kids I got sprinkle donuts and they were very generous with the sprinkles.
The apple fritter was spot on perfect.
Buttermilk old fashion was the best I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth perfect.
Boston crème and coconut cream had a delicious custard filling. Loved all the toasted coconut on the coconut cream.
I gave the other ½ dozen to some friends, they loved them too. Wish I lived nearby to enjoy these, or maybe it’s good I don’t

Really delicious donuts! I woke up early and thought I’d beat the heat and the rush and snag some donuts. When I arrived a little after 6 it was kind of an odd scene. Two couples were sitting at their tables without any donuts. I was able to walk right up and see what was on display. The cases were only about a third full, but what was there looked really good.
A nice young woman yelled from the back that she’d be right with me. Well I was guessing that we were waiting on fresh donuts and/​or something one of the couples had ordered so I just continued to stare at the donuts and try to figure out which ones I wanted.
The woman working in the back brought up a box of goodies for one of the couples, they paid and left. Then I got to wait 15 minutes while the other couple, who had been sitting there before I arrived, figured out their dozen to go, plus a few to eat there. The case was still mostly empty but I could tell they were working on fresh donuts in the back.
Finally it all made sense. They open at 6:00 on Sundays, not 5 like the online listing says. I made my choices and headed out. The woman working was really nice. I got a half doz plus one for free, a doz donut holes, and a shiny new punch card. The punch card is if you buy 7 doz you get one free. As others have said, these donuts are light and fresh. Really nice. I had those donut holes gone before I even made it to Dutch Bros. I haven’t had donuts in awhile so I’m sure I’ll be a little piggy with them this morning. Really glad I got up early and made the drive!

Oh my gosh! So good! So fresh! I can’t get over how fresh the donuts are here. We got a dozen at 1030 and its 9 pm and its still soft and fresh! The owner is so sweet and nice! She really gives a refreshing first impression. I have been trying to find a local place to get donuts and I can definitely say I’ll be coming here from now on! I love the variety of donuts! Variety is big to me and I am glad she makes different fun donuts to eat! Come here for fresh donuts!!!

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. There is definitely something special about Darling Donuts.
The shop is ALWAYS super clean and Jade, the woman who works at the counter, is always incredibly friendly (even when she’s rushing around). The donuts melt in your mouth (I normally get the coconut cream) and the milk tea (I typically get boba in mine) is delicious.

This place is great! First time here we got a little confused and got skipped ordering. Order at the register not by the doughnuts. Tell them it’s your first time there (only if it is) and they give you a free doughnut. The maple bacon doughnut… It was devoured and DELICIOUS! My hubby loved his coconut crème.
It was nice to see some creativity in doughnuts. They had fruit loop, fruity pebble, and coco puffs in addition to Oreo, red velvet, and that amazing maple bacon.
Girls there were friendly and working as quickly as they could. We will definitely visit again.

Good little place, nothing fast but the food and service make up for it. Got a dozen donuts with the kids and where else can you get fruit loops on your donut? I ordered an iced chai tea and a ham, cheese and jalepano croissant. Both were very good and I’ll definitely be returning!

Amazing doughnut selection. All kinds of crazy doughnuts. I always get smiling and friendly service when I come here. Place is very clean and has a huge drink selection as well. I will always be a returning customer. The only negative that I can say is that the wait time for their drinks is very long, and they serve their Boba warm and it separates so if you have one of their drinks ask them to cool the Boba before they serve. Enjoy!

Really good donuts. Probably as good as Bosa. Made fresh on-​site, or so the lady claimed.
Their donuts seem a little smaller than Bosa’s. And they are not convenient for us (we just happened to be next door and spotted them). But I would come here again if we were in the area.
The smoothies are made fresh. It takes several minutes, but that’s OK. It’s really fresh and not pre-​made. My wife liked hers!

Their glazed is super moist and deeeeelicious !!! I like bosa but I may have found my fav. They have many different kinds, my kid is stoked about fruit loop one :).
Service is friendly, the girl was super nice and helpful, and also they have stamp card where after u get couple dozen, you get 1 dozen free. Great deal !
Will be back often = happy kids, but fat belly for mommy lol

I love this new spots. Has everything I want. Red velvet cake donuts and a refreshing drink w boba. It’s a family own. They’re super nice and great customer services.

I was super excited to try the new donut shop, Darling Donuts. I saw that for opening week they were giving out a free donut. Free food, I’m totally in! Sadly, it was not a great experience. Granted it is probably my fault for going in the evening after I got out of work, but the place was deserted aside from the one lonely, clearly bored, employee. The donuts definitely did not look fresh anymore. The glaze on top of them was cracking, a the tell-​tale signs of sitting out too long, but the guilt of walking out with nothing from a new and empty business convinced me to continue on anyway.
It was incredibly difficult to order for the sound from the TV was so ridiculously loud. Add that to the fact I am pretty short and so was the employee, we had to try to talk through the donut case since neither of us were tall enough to talk over it. (I definitely do not appreciate the height of their donut display counters.) Lastly, the one lone employee did not seem to know how to work the register very well so she asked to ring my card again because a receipt didn’t print out. Sure enough, when I checked my bank account, I was charged twice. Not cool.
When I finally tried the donuts that night at home, they seemed a bit stale as predicted. When they are fresh, they probably taste much much better but I can only say they were average at best and that is being nice. They are a decent size and priced alright but overall the whole experience was pretty darn disappointing, darlings.
