First Due Concrete Staining

Anthony was an absolute godsend to my family. We have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a toddler. One of our cats refuses to use the litter box, so obviously, our house smelled horrible and the carpeting was soaked in cat urine… I was ready to either get rid of the cat (my husband’s «baby») or sell our house. I started researching acid staining for concrete and looking up reviews for people who did this type of work. After seeing Anthony’s Unilocal reviews I called him and he came over to assess the situation. He was completely forthright and honest, telling us that if we pulled up the carpet and acid stained the concrete, we would have no idea what the final product would look like due to the urine being absorbed by the porous concrete foundation (basically it would react differently with the solution than a floor that had not come into contact with pet urine). I was heartbroken, until he told us about another option… metallic epoxies. He showed us some pictures of the product and it looked beautiful; there were also so many colors to choose from! We decided on a color called Cappuccino. Anthony did a fantastic job; his work is top notch and he is professional, knowledgeable, and very, very affordable. All of our neighbors cannot believe how gorgeous our floors are, and a huge bonus is that they are soooooooo low maintenance! A HUGE shout-​out to First Due for making my house feel like a home again!

We live in a «work/​live» condominium in downtown phoenix. We have two entrances to our condo. The entrances were originally stained concrete porches. The original builder placed landscape pots on ledges that are connected to the porches. These pots were watered by an underground watering system which through the years caused immense damage to the concrete, along with a lot of calcification. This, along with our intense heat made our front entrances look really bad. So we started searching on Unilocal for a concrete company to take this project on. We had a couple concrete staining companies take a look at our porches, and both companies said it was beyond repair and would require major work and expense, and didn’t even want to take it on. So we kept looking and found First Due Concrete. Anthony came out and looked at our situation. He admitted there was a lot of damage, and that it would be a process to bring it back to the original stained concrete look that we had before. But he told us it was doable, and he was confident that with the techniques he proposed, we would be happy with the result. He explained the entire process to us and very scientifically. He showed us an array of stain colors to choose from. He is extremely knowledgeable about the chemical processes involved, the stages of application, what to expect, etc. We were immediately impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. But most of all, Anthony is the nicest, most honest, dedicated person we have ever dealt with when it comes to any project we have had to do. He worked out a schedule that worked great. Always communicated with everything, which is something these days, trades do not do well at all! Even with his busy schedule as a firefighter, he still maintained his schedule with us. He had to come several times to make sure each application process was working according to his standard, checked with us at each stage. Our porches are absolutely beautiful now! We no longer will be embarrassed about our customers entering our business. We couldn’t be happier!
Anthony told us that due to the years of water damage to the concrete, we would need to allow the moisture underneath eventually come up to the surface. So he continued to come out to check it and treat it until he was satisfied with the surface. Nobody these days is that dedicated that they would continue to come back! We have been in the construction business for decades, and have never seen or experienced this level of commitment to quality on a project, that Anthony has. His price to do this job was not outrageous like the other two company’s quotes, it was very reasonable. Again, he is not only a hard worker, and also has a great sense of humor, but he is a person we are privileged to know. We highly recommend First Due Concrete!!!

Anthony stained the concrete floors of my 1,700 square foot house. I originally planned to stain the floors myself, but when I discovered black mastic that needed to be removed first, I called Anthony. He explained the entire process, from grinding, staining, neutralizing, sealing, and waxing. He kept me informed throughout the entire process, and I’m very happy with the result. Anthony worked on my garage floor a little over a month ago and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s always nice when a project exceeds your expectations. Anthony was on time, professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly did GREAT work. I had priced out several Craigslist and Angie’s List businesses before finding Anthony as a referral from a fellow firefighter. I had heard that the craigslist flooring companies use a «do-​it-​yourself» product to keep their costs low and I was able to confirm this by calling around. Anthony was great about talking me through the project and his apparent attention to detail sold me on the fact that he was the guy for the job.
After confirming the price and timeline with Anthony, I also had a request for black epoxy coating which is rare and sometimes difficult to find. Anthony was able to custom order the black coating and have all the materials ready within a week of our first conversation.
It’s also worth mentioning that since Anthony was a referral I felt comfortable letting him work on the garage while I was at work. This was a HUGE bonus for me. I was able to keep from burning vacation time at work without stressing about the contents of my home being safe.
I couldn’t tell you the number of times someone has driven by with my garage door open and slowed down to say how great the floor looks. I wish I had a clear garage door to show it off all the time!
Bottom line– Anthony and First Due Concrete Staining should be your first call.

We cannot begin to say enough great things about Anthony! First off — he is as professional, knowledgable, helpful, and kind as it gets. Secondly, he is extremely detail orientated and takes the time to explain what he has done every day and shares updates and pictures along the way! He went above and beyond in every way — for example, accepting any packages that came to our door or even helping us move furniture back that was not part of his responsibility. He did it to help us and it made a big difference. Also, because of his demeanor and professionalism, we could not have felt more comfortable with him in our house while we were gone for a few days, as he is very trustworthy. Most importantly — our floors turned out great!!! Better than we could have ever imagined. He did a fantastic job and got the job done in great time! If you are in need of someone to help with your floors, Anthony is your guy.

Small locally owned and operated business. The owner/​operator, Anthony, is a firefighter and is extremely knowledgable and experienced. I removed all the tile and carpet in my house and had Anthony grind, polish, stain and seal the concrete sub floor. Simply put, I could not be happier with the job as a whole, and of course the final product (check the pics)!
Pricing is cheap, well below local and national averages, and for the amount of time, effort, focus, and detailed work he administers, you soon realize you’re getting nothing short of a freakin steal!
The other nice thing about this company, (and I shopped around a lot) is that Anthony is always available via phone or email, very patient, and just really customer satisfaction focused. This is something rarely found in companies anymore, let alone contractors.
Anthony takes a diary of pictures throughout the process too and emails you them with updates for your records. That was a fun bonus!
