Gilbert Foot Surgeons – Brett Roeder, Dpm

I went to Dr. Roeder in part because of all the great reviews on this site. I went for a pain and growth in my toe that had been getting worse over time.
There is just a receptionist (Michelle) at the front desk, who is very friendly. I was seen on time for my appointment. The doctor examined me and without x-​rays, made his diagnosis and gave me basically 2 treatment options, both involving surgery. I asked him some questions and was done, with the whole visit lasting about 20 minutes.
I went to a second specialist for another opinion. It basically was the same. So it came down to who did I want doing the surgery. I decided to go back to Dr. Roeder. But I had several questions regarding the operation and post-​op issues. I emailed them to Michelle who said she’d print them out and have the doctor answer them. I followed up with 1 or 2 emails when there was no response, then by phone. Nothing (I had gotten answers to 2 initial questions only).
I was frustrated by the lack of response so then went to the other doctor. That office had a person dedicated to setting up operation times and getting questions to and from the doctor. Some of my questions were answered by phone, but a pre-​op visit got scheduled where I could ask more questions, which got patiently answered.
So in the end, I could recommend Dr. Roeder for routine issues, but I have to give him a lower rating overall because his front office dropped the ball on the communication front.

From Michelle at the front desk right to Dr. Roeder himself; has a very professional, kind, efficient hospitality. Dr. Roeder had diagnosed me with having a stress fracture along with tendinitis. With an examination of my symptoms, followed some solutions that were made very quickly by the Doctor. I was given a boot to wear, the precautions to be aware of while being in a boot, and supplements to take to help with the process. My follow up was made in three weeks, and I can finally happily say I feel at least 80% better. I am so happy with the whole experience. Thank you Dr. Roeder and Michelle for all the support and help!

Dr. Roeder and his office staff were knowledgeable, gracious, friendly and prompt. He was able to give me a quick diagnosis to my toe pain (probably gout), and some easy treatment plans. It was a great experience, in part because he’s from my neck of the woods in California!

Five minutes into a rock show, I got really excited. So excited, in fact, that I did some kind of aerial ninja moves and (crunch) broke my foot.
I hobbled to urgent care after all the excitement was over and I had a night to beg the ceiling that nothing was broken. In the morning, my dark purple, painful, and wonky looking foot left me with no question. The doc at urgent care was nice enough, but left me with a kind-​of-​sideways, ace-​bandaged splint that made my pain worse. In comes Dr. Roeder.
I’m not sure when doctors’ offices became efficient, but my mind was blown by how quick everything came together. Even so, I never felt that the visit was rushed. Paperwork, 2 minutes of friendly chatter with the front office lady, then right back to see Dr. Roeder. He was a pleasant conversationalist, smart, and thorough. Between jokes, he laid out 3 treatment options and left it up to me… surgery if I were an athlete who needed to heal in 3 weeks, a cast if I’m a kid and/​or can’t trust myself to wear a boot (sometimes I wonder), and a boot if I was a functioning adult. Boot it was! He also picked up on another foot issue I didn’t mention and gave me some suggestions so I could avoid future surgery. Bam, excellence.
I left with a boot, my urgent care crutches, plenty of recommendations, and a plan for a speedy recovery. I will absolutely go back in four weeks, and I will absolutely go back if I have any other foot mishaps! :)

This was the first time I had gone to see a podiatrist and I couldn’t have chosen a better Dr. Dr. Roeder was Friendly and knowledgable and confident in his trade. I went in for an in grown toe nail and he took it right out with very very little pain. I read some good reviews on Unilocal and although he is further from where I live I decided to visit his office and glad I did.

I have suffered with arch problems for years. My previous doctor fitted me with orthotics that left me in some pain. I decided to switch to Dr. Roeder, based on his Unilocal ratings. Dr. Roeder diagnosed my problem as arthritis. He fitted me with new orthotics. I still have arthritis, of course. Not even Dr. Roeder can cure that! But my foot is much improved.
Like other reviewers here, I found Dr. Roeder to be very personable and professional. I never felt rushed. He took the time to explain everything to me. Most of all, he got the job done. I recommend him.

Dr. Roeder (and his staff) were very professional and kid-​friendly with my 3 year old’s ingrown toe nail problem. They tried to make the entire process easy and painless by providing clear information about the issue, its’ alternative solutions, and just general comfort (a drink, some magazines, and just reassuring him that everything was going to be okay).
It was nice since we didn’t feel rushed. The appointment set-​up and clearance of insurance information was very easy and they really showed that they cared.

Dr Roeder is awesome. He takes his time with his patients and isn’t trying to sell you a bunch of stuff like other podiatrists. In fact he gave me print outs of items I could buy on my own. I recently bought orthotics at Dr Roeders office and they are great at a great price. I highly recommend Gilbert Foot Surgeons.

We came to him with x-​rays of bone spurs, and he was very patient explaining everything in detail and giving us a full arrange of options. We left with instructions for addressing the fasciatis. He didn’t seem to think a follow-​up would be needed.
Caring, patient, explains everything, not rushed. What more could you ask?

Dr Roeder is great, have gone to him a few times now for a chronic ingrown toenail problem. He explains the options and really lets you decide, is friendly, professional and does a great job! I feel totally confident in his skills.

This guy takes his time to explain everything to you. He tells you the positives and negatives, and let’s you decide, instead of him. He’s very knowledgeable, and he seems fun… not stiff like other doctors. If he thinks you need surgery, he will tell you the good and the bad of it. If you do decide to have surgery done by Dr. Roeder, you are assured professionalism and outstanding surgical skills.
The clinic is in the historic Grunow building. The staff is very friendly, and his biz partner, Tim Harlan, also a podiatrist seems like a nice guy, too!
