Great big items for low prices! We got a great bassinet for our daughter for very cheap and I am always able to find adorable girls clothes there, the only con is as the kids get bigger the selection for clothes gets smaller especially for boys. They also have tons of toys and most have all the pieces with them for great prices. Love this place we recomend it everyone who is trying to baby on a budget.

Huge selection. I love the way everything is organized. Everything was still in great condition, staff was friendly and helpful. They had everything you could need and they are open later than most places. Which is a huge plus.

Do not try to sell anything here! I took in a ton of baby clothes… Carters mainly… and they wanted to buy like 6 items and took over an hour. The employees were super rude, so I didn’t even wait for the offer. I took my stuff, I would rather have a tax deduction for donating.

Horrible service. Rude to paying customers. Rude to children. After coming here twice I will no longer give them my money. Lots of over priced items. Shop somewhere else unless you don’t care about any of the above things.

Not a good experience trying to sell them clothes. They advertise «We buy clothes» but what it should say is «We buy 1 out of every hundred pieces of clothing»
I brought in 2 huge boxes of clothes and most weren’t used at all but they only bought $ 6.35 worth!
That was a lot of work for nothing.
Gonna go donate them now.

I’ve been selling things here ever since it opened and it works for me. It’s important to keep in mind that the things your kid doesn’t play with/​fit in anymore aren’t making you ANY money jammed in closets and drawers. If you don’t want the hassle of listing/​selling items yourself online, this is a good option. No, you won’t make a ton of money, but you will likely make more than you will dropping it off in a donation bin (which is ALWAYS 0).
The buyers can explain their pricing policy very easily if you have questions. Their new electronic check in is awesome and they’ll even text you when your sale is ready. Go have lunch, shop around… THEN come back and grab your cash.
Things to help make a good sale:
1. Wash, iron (if necessary), and lay clothes flat. Organize in baskets or boxes if possible. Take a Mr Clean magic sponge to those dirty shoes! Basically, make it easy and appealing for the buyer to look through your items.
2. Make sure toys are clean and in working order. Group small parts together in zip-​top bags and bonus points if you can hand over the manual.
3. Smile. Be courteous. Have LOW expectations. Don’t take things personally. I often hear, «You have great stuff, we are just at capacity for (x item) right now.» You’re not a bad person if they don’t purchase your stuff– they just might not be able to take it at the moment!
Money in your pocket, cleaned out closets, and low-​priced toys now available for a new family to love… All is right with the universe.

I love to buy here but its not worth it to sell. You can make easily two to four times as much selling on FB groups or eBay. Add in the fact that majority of the employees are cranky pants (why I’m not sure) and it’s best to get in and get out fast! This place still beats the prices of Kid to Kid anyday though!

I have been shopping at OUAC for over 11 years, since it was off of Val Vista. It’s always been hit or miss, stuff is often dirty, gear is overpriced, shoes are just disgusting. But my kids have always loved looking at the big selection of toys and we have spent a ton of money there over the years, given the fact that we have 6 children in the home.
This week my oldest daughter & I took the kids & granddaughter to look for halloween stuff. The older kids went off to browse the toys as usual but were sent back to us within 5 mins because they were told they can’t be without a parent. Ok, no big deal. The next 20 mins or so the kids were within 4 feet of us. Of course they picked things up, they’re loud, they’re silly. Then as my daughter & I were standing with one of my son’s while he was showing us a large stuffed shark, a worker stomped up, ripped the shark from his hands and said «you can’t have that, bud, if you aren’t going to buy it». Um. Hello. How did she know we weren’t going to buy it, and why didn’t she ask me, the parent, standing 2 feet away?
I spoke with Tracy, a manager, and was told «I’m sorry, no one should have ripped something from anyone’s hands, but your children have been asked numerous times to put things down, they’ve been running around the store, totally out of control». My jaw just dropped. My daughter was also appalled. My children were spoken to one time, and after that they were in my sight the entire time. Whatever made Tracy decide that lying about little kids to cover her employees error in judgement is beyond me, but it’s not ok. We will never visit this store again. Offend me if you want, but don’t lie about & offend my children to cover your butt.

This place is the worst, I brought a bunch of NEW toys in, never been used and they offered me 8 dollars… and their prices in the store are so over priced. I will never come back here to sell or buy, yuck! Save yourself the disappointment and go to a different once upon a child or goodwill

I waited to review this store until I had shopped there a few times, four to be exact. I have purchased items and have sold items to them. It honestly seems like it depends on the day what they are going to buy — Some days they want a lot of your stuff, other days they want only a few things. When I sell, I have been averaging .50-​$ 1 a piece — It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s used and in great condition, or brand new with tags. They give you a piece of paper that says why they are refusing some items, but most of the time it doesn’t make sense to me because I don’t see the flaws they are talking about. You really never know what you are going to get. The staff themselves are not very professional, but aren’t horrible. I’ve seen mostly young women working there. The store itself is in a nice shopping area, but the inside is very crowded. There is barely any room to walk around or pull clothing down from the top rack. Very frustrating when it gets busy. The pricing also doesn’t seem to make much sense — I’ve found awesome deals on Gymboree, Carter’s, Gap. And then, the next time, they want $ 5 for a used bib that isn’t a good brand? I found some tights from Gymboree that had a sticker on them for $ 7.49 (markdown at Gymboree) and they were asking $ 8.99. Like I said, you really just never know what you are going to get.

Great concept and some good finds, but it is hit or miss. There will be a stained t-​shirt for $ 6 but an entire lined ASU track suit for the same price. It seems at times there is no method to the madness. And by madness, I mean literally and figuratively. Most of the workers seem unhappy and there are way too many items and aisles crammed into this small space. We literally could not get out pj’s from the special aisle in the back by toys because there were far too many items. Items are not in the correct spots either, although I know this is hard to police unless workers are constantly combing each aisle.
We rarely pay full price for kids clothes because they stain it and/​or outgrow it in about 5 minutes. Most of the items are still under retail, although some more than others. Check out the clearance racks in the back for good finds and they have great costumes for Halloween and theme clothing around other holidays. Often have the large ticket baby furniture and toy items as well. Like their FB page for «just in» popular items and get a stamp card for 20% off after numerous purchases.

I have been to this place a few times and each time I go the associates there seem ruder and ruder. I took a basket full of barely worn baby clothes. Understand some peoples expectations of barely worn or clean are different, but I am very picky about clothing, not so much name brand but clean. About 15 minutes after dropping the basket off they called to say it was ready for pick up. I went over and the girl at the counter treated me like I was a idiot. They took about 15 items (ironically some were from a previous purchase there so double used) so great I was fine with it as I know they have needs at different times. The issue was when I got home and read the reasons why they would not take was pilling, stains and one other ridicules reason. There were items still in the basket with tags, sleepers that my son wore only once or not at all. I went again through every piece of clothing to find this so called stain and pilling to ease my thought not I was not seeing what the young lady saw and nothing. Even the white X-​Mas outfit was spotless.
Thank you for making it easy to share my irritations with hundreds and making it even easier to not take or buy anything from your store again :-)

I live in California, but every time i go to Arizona I make it a point to stop here and stock up for the next season. I have found the most amazing deals here for my 1 year old. Everything I have purchased has been near perfect condition. I’ve found Ecko tennis shoes, Ralph Lauren Polo Mary-Jane’s, Vans, Guess shoes, Puma’s and more, all priced between $ 3 – 8 each. Each of these would’ve been at least $ 30 new. For clothing I’ve found Juicy Couture, Guess, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo, and many more, some with tags still on, all in near new condition. I’ve never paid more than $ 8 for an article of name-​brand clothing in this place. I am a huge fan of this store, and cant wait to go back.

You would think that a place that depends on good customer service in order to stay in business would be nice to their customers. I’ve been selling and buying used children’s clothing for years and this place is a joke!!! I can’t believe the attitude the employees had when I dropped off clothes to be purchased. They also rack up the prices after low-​balling the seller. I also found so many items in the clearance section that weren’t clearance. I also had a rude employee correct me about a name of n item. couldn’t believe her attitude. There are plenty of other ways to buy and sell so today is my last day of shopping and selling at Once upon a child.

These people are swindlers. I dropped off three large totes with well over 300 items in them. They offered me $ 26.00 for everything. I told Ari that my wife didn’t want it sold and we had brought in by mistake and I would be by in the next few days to pick it up. When I came in they indicated they threw my totes and all of the clothing into a donation bin in front of their store. The employee started talking about policy this and policy that which in fact the girl covered up on the counter when I came in. Also they never made it clear that if I didn’t pick up the items they would be donated including when I was on the phone.
They are Shady Shady Shady! Don’t do business with this place if you value your items!

Great selection, great prices, wonderful concept! You will find many bargains here… It’s like a treasure hunt! We even found many matching outfits for twins. Many items were even new with the tags still on. Love it!

If you enjoy trying to walk through a fully loaded cattle car — this is this place for you!
The clothes and stuff are piled so thick you can’t really see any of it and when it comes to equipment and furniture, you definitely can’t get it out to take a look at it. As the other reviewers have said, if it’s a brand name, the price is automatically high regardless of condition. I brought my niece here to grab some onsies. They were 10 for $ 10. Decent price for stocking up. Regular price is $ 1.50/each.
They do have some decent/​nice items for good prices. Just be prepared to fight people in itty bitty spaces to get to them.

I went in yesterday for their $ 1 clearance. First off, it just seemed like there was SO much stuff in the store. It’s a little overwhelming at first.
Pros: great sales and good clothes. You do have to pick through lots of stuff but it’s worth it.
Cons: the checkout took forever and they had few cashiers.
I did sell a few of my baby’s items and was able to use my credit towards my purchase which was nice.

This big beautiful store has an extensive inventory. Everything is clean good condition and many new items all very affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only problem was finding in shopping center… it’s in building somewhat middle of parking lot.

It’s true that their customer service kind of sucks. I called on two separate occasions to ask if they had different items, one of which was a specific Halloween costume, and both times they said. «I don’t know, we have a lot of costumes.» That’s cool and all, but every time I come in there is about 6 people working and it wouldn’t hurt for one to get off their butts and go look since there all separated easily into sizes. AND because I am driving from 25 minutes away.
That being said, I did find the costume I was looking for and it was reasonably priced. There are A LOT of items at this store and I can appreciate the quality of most of them. I will continue to come here when I need to find something I can’t other places.
