Open Sesame

I wish I had positive things to say, but the garage door these guys installed for me 2 years ago has required more maintenance than a 20 year old European car. Immediately following the installed (as in, I was pulling my car into the garage for the first time, it made a horrible clunking noise. I immediately called Open Sesame who made their technician turn around and repair it. A few months later, as the AZ heat kicked in, my door just stopped working period. I called them up but our schedules didn’t align to I used another place. They showed me how Open Sesame wired the «eyes» behind a metal plate so when when the heat caused the wood to expand it blocked the wire. The repair person moved the wire and the problem was immediately fixed. When I called Open Sesame they basically said the warranty expired. Well… is there a warranty on incorrect installation? So now my door is squealing… and I have another company here. They pointed out that the wheels used on my door were the cheap plastic ones and the alignment of the rail was off. I wouldn’t use these guys unless you have an interested in a lot of garage door maintenance…

Great service. They came right away, and told me exactly what was going on, then fixed my door. Just what I was wanting.

I would highly recommend Open Sesame. I have used them 2 times in the past 9 months. The 1^st time we just needed service and replacing some older parts. We were given multiple options. The technician was very educated and friendly. The prices were very good as well. The 2^nd time I had an emergency, I could not get my car out of the garage because I accidentally hit the garage door, and my car was stuck inside. I needed to get my daughter from daycare as it was going to close in one hour. They came out within 20 minutes and fixed the problem very fast. I was able to get my daughter from daycare on time. Thanks so much Open Sesame for being so knowledgeable and efficient.

Very unprofessional. They never answer their phones, it always goes to voicemail. If you call on the weekends, good luck. The owners are not very professional. Does not seem like they know what they are talking about especially the female. The tech they sent out Jason also seemed like he was not fully trained and said something else caused this problem so it’s not covered for a home warranty issue. Seems like they just don’t want to fix issues without making more money. I would not recommend to anybody

This is the third time that I have used Open Sesame. Jason was my technician this time and he was very proficient and jovial. Good hire Open Sesame! He replaced some old sensors and rewired the system. In the past I’ve had the company replace a strut on my aging door. I had asked him to contact the corporate office regarding some pricing questions I had. They came back with exactly the answer I was hoping for and that meant a lot to me. It is good to know that they appreciate repeat customers and that I do not need to shop around when dealing garage door repairs. They are competitively priced and have always come through for me. I recommend them.

We were very happy with our garage door purchase and installation experience through Open Sesame. They gave us a quick and fair estimate, and then followed through with the delivery as planned. The install team was a father & son, who were both very polite, respectful of our property, competent and thorough, and professional. The door works great and we would do more business with them.

This is not the first time we have needed our garage door serviced (we used another company before). However it is the first time I have received such fast and professional service. Scott and Nicole were excellent to work with and the problem was resolved the same day I called. I don’t know if they are able to serve every customer that fast, but I was ecstatic to not have had to endure a long wait and parking in the driveway overnight.

They are one of the service companies contracted through American Home Shield. I have had them at my home twice and they were horrible!!! It seemed like they were looking for a way for my home warranty not to cover the repair. The 2^nd time I complained and the warranty company sent out another company and not only was it repaired and covered under my plan, it wasn’t even as bad as what Open Sesame said. STAY AWAY, they are horrid!!!

I found Open Sesame Garage Doors through Costco. I am a huge Costco fan and believe that they only stand behind exceptional vendors. Open Sesame was no exception! After backing into my garage door Saturday night, I contacted Costco on Sunday afternoon. Open Sesame called me early Monday morning to schedule an appointment, they actually came to my house that day! Scott, the owner made the house call. He was awesome! Very knowledgeable, had many options of different garage doors and did not do the usual sales pressure. He listened and offered his advice on what was the best option for my home and needs. It was great to have the owner of the company doing the sales call, that to me, meant that he really cares and wants the customer to be happy. I ordered the garage door and since it was a special order, Scott made sure to follow up many times with me on the delivery date. I was not able to be home when the garage door was installed. Open Sesame came to my home, installed the door and took the old garage door with them. No mess was left behind, they did a FANTASTIC job! I would highly, highly recommend Open Sesame Garage Doors, being backed by Costco says enough, but they are truly a class act!!!

Open Sesame provided a great experience when my garage door broke. It broke in the morning and I had one car stuck inside the garage and I could not lift the garage door manually. They were able to come out the same day to look at it. The spring or coil had snapped and needed to be replaced. They told me that was common and they had already fixed several others in the neighborhood.
Luckily they had the part on hand and were able to fix it right away. He explained everything he was doing as well as provided some maintenance tips. He also took a look at my 3^rd car garage door and sprayed some lubricant and made sure the spring was still ok and set to the right tension.
Overall it was a great experience and I was very appreciative of the prompt and professional service.

My son is learning to drive and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake as he was pulling into the driveway! We had an up-​close meeting with our garage door!
No one was hurt and the scratches on the car rubbed out just fine, but the garage door was pushed in at least three feet; totally demolished!
I found Open Sesame Garage Door Service on Unilocal and it turns out they are the same company my dad used about six months ago at his house.
Sunny (the owner) came out to my house, took a few measurements and told me my options. I never felt like he was pressuring me to purchase more than I wanted.
Five days later I have a beautiful, very well built new garage door!
I know enough about how things work to see that Sunny did a very professional job installing it. It took Sunny only about two hours to remove the old door and install the new one; he cleaned up after himself and hauled away the old door.
I felt totally comfortable having him at my house and would have been just as comfortable if I couldn’t be home and just my wife and kids were at home alone.
Oh yeah, in case your wondering: my son will be paying off half of the new door cost! He learned a good lesson and is becoming a GREAT driver! :-)

Great price, great service. Decided to go through Costco to replace our garage door after getting ridiculous quotes from sears, lowes, etc. Frank is awesome. Upgraded door installed within a week. Professional to interact with and professional service. The door is beautiful and installation was fast and high quality. I understand why Costco partners with them. Full recommendation.
