Their HDX shelves are great, they are some of the best shelving for garages. In fact their HDX, or home brand, is quite good.

Update to today. I walked in to buy a new tank of gas and a refill and was told I could use the kiosk. I went to do that and it had on the screen that an employee had been called so I cancelled, then suddenly one of the windows popped open with a full tank of gas in it… I had not paid for anything mind you but the window was offering me a free $ 50 tank of gas… I pushed the button for the employee and a teenage kid walked over and had no clue what to do… mind you he responded to the request for the person who ran that station… I explained the situation and he let me know I could complete my transaction inside. I went inside and purchased the tank and a refill. I walk outside and put the new tank in my car while I got the empty. I walk back and now the thing is asking for an empty tank, mind you I have not touched it. Another person had been using the kiosk and went inside because apparently this kiosk requires at least a bachelors degree to run. I asked another teenage kid who was manning the station and again he had no clue what was going on. I eventually fixed what was going on and helped another customer go through this amazingly complex
I finally enter my code for my refill, I completed my transaction, all the while wondering how anybody was confused in the first place by the screens or this process (that is why you even get 2 stars home depot, good job on the screen prompts) I close the window after placing my empty tank into the locker finally thinking all is right in the world I can go grill again, when the kiosk chimes up «you have an extra propane charge on this receipt, press yes if you want to redeem this now or no to redeem later.» Home depot, you are lucky that I am an honest person because I pressed no and I had already paid for the tank of gas I had so I just threw the receipt away, rather than taking a free $ 50 tank of gas.
I would suggest you check into this location and especially the management. This location has been the worst and I will only use them for propane refills which is now even in question.

Simply put, this location at 745 S Val Vista Dr in Gilbert offered the WORST experience at a Home Depot store ever. I’m normally a big fan, but this location is a real disappointment in terms of customer service. The staff was unhelpful bouncing us from department to department and when additional assistance was requested, no one showed up.

I went today to have to keys made and the response I received was «uhhh I have a meeting to go to» as he took the keys from me. Great customer service.

Typical Home Depot. Friendly helpful staff, much more knowledgable than any Lowe’s as usual. The only reason I give this one 2 stars is because of how obnoxious they are with pushing the Home Depot credit card. Employee’s literally walk around the store asking you, and the checkout people are especially obnoxious! I frequent Home Depot 3 – 4 times a week, and it is almost making me want to drive to another location. Obviously there is some incentive to push this credit card so hard, which is fine, but this store is over the top! It’s a crappy card anyway, super high interest 26.99% I believe and it isn’t negotiable. Standard interest rate across the board, regardless of credit score! I will always remain loyal to Home Depot, but tone it down some!!!

Been here several times and been disappointed every time with their plant selection. Seems to me the person in charge of the indoor plants isn’t doing there job or has too much going on and never has time to water the plants. Very little variety, poor selection, and what they have is always half dead with no discount available

My husband loves this Home Depot. They are always friendly and helpful and we get in and out fast. Sometimes it’s hard to find people when you have a question, but once you get your hands on someone, it’s smooth sailing.
In the summer we usually bring our dog here to, just to walk the aisles. (support animal) they know him by name and are super excited to see him when he comes with.

I think I am here every other day. So much so the employees recognize me and ask how my projects are going :) They have all been super helpful and very knowledgeable about every random thing I come in with. Another plus, they let me bring my 60lb dog in!
If you need help with anything having to do with wall textures, paint or stain find Carmen. I swear this woman knows everything and is more than happy to help you find exactly the right colors etc.
In the lighting part is a 50 – 60 year old guy with his ears pierced that can help with anything electrical and has saved us a lot of headache. He has a beard and his name might be Ray but I can’t remember.

Let me start this review by saying that this Home Depot has to be one of the worst in the state.
Generally speaking this store has always been messy, disorganized and had at least mediocre customer service. But my last two visits really exemplified their ability to disservice anyone attempting to make some purchases (at least me anyways).
It began with my first quest to purchase some bathroom tile, liner, mortar — you know, all the goods for a bathroom remodel. I had used their handy website to make sure everything I wanted was in stock. Upon arriving to my aisle I noticed the entire section of my tile brand /​type was empty! After walking around that area for about 3 – 5 minutes I had to flag someone down from another department who could flag someone down from this department. Total time to speak to someone: about 6 minutes (I can still live with this timeframe).
Unfortunately the person I was speaking to was just «filling in» but could inform me that they DID have the tile I wanted in stock, as the site indicated, but that for some treason no one had restocked it. Cool? He then stated he had to find someone, to locate it and bring it down. I was left alone for about 15 minutes as he «searched» for appropriate people. Not an exaggeration. Not an oversight in my time keeping abilities. But I was left alone for 15 minutes. At this point — I just walked out and chalked it up to a bad experience.
Today, about a week and a half after my last experience I figured I would give this store a chance for redemption — plus it’s really close to me. As I arrive in the tile area I was shocked to see the exact same products I had come in for last week were still NOT stocked. Again, I ask (a different) the associate if it’s in stock, and again I get the «yes it is, we just have to bring it down» response. I ask if this can be done but get a «The person working this area that can do it is somewhere else».
Fed up — especially since the store has had the request for this tile, basic white subway tile (for the record), and since both times they tell me it’s in stock (and so does the website), I just leave. On the way out I tell the door greeter that the service is atrocious and he should let his manager know in walking out.
His response? He chuckled and said «oh, you think so?»

Just your regular Home Depot location. I was disappointed that we had to ask three people where chain lube might be, only to find out they didn’t carry it after going on what seemed like a treasure hunt around the store. Oh well — would try again for more generic requests. Clean store.

Home Depot… Where else can you go to get what you need for those home projects you should have called someone else out to do that could have done it in record breaking time but your too cheap to pay for something so you do it yourself & after evaluating your performance as well as the amount of time it took you to achieve the crazy project you tried to tackle, you realized you should have called a pro! Now on the flip side of the coin, as a pro, I appreciate your valiant attempts to save money & sometimes thankful you didn’t burden me with your desires. hahahaha! that was a fun little tangent to go off on. I gotta say thanks to HD for offering a military discount!

For years I’ve chosen Home Depot because they were closer and a little better organized than Lowes. But I recently had to make a return on the same day I bought something (bought the wrong item) and they demanded my driver’s license because I had used a gift card for a portion of the order (not the whole thing). This is despite the fact that I had the receipt. This is a really poor policy that the managers can’t override, and the worst part is that they told me the information is given to a third party to track returns. Nobody has been able to tell me the name of this company or their privacy policy.
It’s a big problem to me so I’ll be shopping at Lowes from now on, and avoiding gift cards since they aren’t treated like cash is. A cash or credit card return with a receipt wouldn’t have required an ID, I asked.

Don’t get your keys made here — they never work. 3 different times this has happened. Not a fluke.

Normally I get a little frustrated at hardware stores because I often don’t even know the name of the thing I’m looking for, so I have to do that awkward «It looks like this and it’s shaped like this, and it does this» with hand motions. Well I did that this time and the person who listened to me was very helpful.
Then a true miracle happened. I was standing waiting to get a key made. The person making the keys was helping someone else. All of the sudden, another employee of the store saw me, asked if I needed help, and then made a key for me. Bing bam boom. Done.
Very helpful and friendly store.

Cleaning my front yard today and decided to replace a dead plant.
Home Depot nursery area was well kept and clean, I’ve always enjoyed going to this home depot since the layout is logical in my mind and I know where everything is (Why can’t they all have the same layout?)
The flowering plants were near the front door so it is easy to pick one.
I thought I would surprise my wife with an ornamental pepper bush.

Everyone here is always helpful. Sometimes they have an empty spot or just one of something on the shelves. I understand you can’t always have full stock of the thousands of items they carry though.

Came in here last night and was really impressed by the friendliness and eagerness to help of every employee that we passed while browsing. I expect to find myself in here often in the coming months as we prepare to tweak/​update/​upgrade our house, and I’m glad there are friendly employees there to help me.
