TNT Feeds and Animal Supplies

So I finally decided to stop in here a while back and I’m glad I did. My kitty has been on blue buffalo forever and I was wondering if they carried what I used. I was thrilled to see that they always have in stock my favorite blue buffalo litter, and the big bags at that! After reading other reviews here I was wary about stopping in, but I’m not sure what everyone is talking about. I had no issues whatsoever. The male employee is extremely helpful, always offers to carry all the products for me, even offers to put it all in the car for me! I hear him offer to do the same for other customers in there all the time. He seems very knowledgeable when I heard him speaking to other customers. I wasn’t sure about the Exclusive cat food that he highly recommended at first. He told me about people he knows who use it, as well as his kitty who has always been on it, who was in the store there, and definitely looked healthy. I went home and did a little research on it, and found that it’s comparable to the blue buffalo products I’d been using. So I decided to give it a try. My kitty loves it! I’ve never switched back to blue. It’s been several months now, I’m saving a bit of money, and have yet to have an issue with customer service here. He’s always very helpful, and now knows exactly what I want/​need when I come in the door. That’s not solely my experience, I’ve heard him call people by name when I’m there too and ask if they need something specific again. I think people are mistaking his trying to have a genuine conversation with people to get to know them, and his passion for good quality products for being a «know it all» or something. I don’t think they’re right. I don’t necessarily agree with his opinions about organic products, because we’ve talked about that before, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have that opinion. And he listened to my opinion, so he didn’t come across as condescending. Also, it appears that he works there by himself, everyday, all day. I think I’ve seen another man in there once. I think maybe the other reviews are reflecting this situation. He’s handling all the customer flow alone. People will be missed periodically, that will happen. But it’s never happened to me, he’s always greeted me immediately, even if he’s with another customer, when I come in. As far as everyone else’s reviews on here, it seriously makes me sick to hear how ugly people can be. Have a little respect for others, and maybe try to see the good in a person instead of focusing on the negative, and to be honest I didn’t even notice anything negative until I read these reviews, you all should be ashamed.

Unbelievable!!! We raise exhibition livestock and were interested in changing all our cattle over to a newly released Purina product. So we visited the store as they are a Purina Dealer to see about the store ordering in the feed we needed as they don’t stock it normally. I have fed show steers for 30yrs and was treated as though I was an idiot, and was spewed upon with totally false or uninformed advise. The guy we talked to was the most condescending, rude and belittling customer service rep I have ever had the displeasure to speak to. We are not a 1 or 2 sack a month customer, we feed 3 – 4 tons a month. Needless to say, steer clear of this place, people don’t deserve to be treated this way.

The owner is literally SO rude. The kind of rude where you are like «Is this even real?» He’s definitely got some chip his shoulder. I was hesitant to even leave a review cause I like to support small businesses but when I logged in I saw that I definitely wasn’t the only one who’s been treated like this I decided to add mine the bunch! Idk how they are still in business. Pretty crazy how people can get away with treating PAYING customers like shit.

I like to support mom and pop local businesses, especially horse related ones, and as a barn owner, I try to refer my clients to them as well. But when they treat their customers badly, well that chaps me! I bought a bunch of tack and supplies from this feed store right around the corner a couple weeks ago. When I bought it, I told the owner it was for a very small pony, and I was worried it would be too big. He told me no problem, bring it back if it didn’t fit. I brought a few items back today, with the tags still on, never used, with the receipt, and the son who was minding the store told me too bad, they have a no return policy. I asked if he could check with his father, and he told me no. Ya know, I’ve stuck up for these people many times because I feel bad for them, and I know the store is struggling. But apparently they have earned their bad reputation. Take your business elsewhere– they don’t deserve our support.

I was suckered into thinking the new name (used to be Cactus Feed) was under different ownership. I had been there in the past since it was very close to my home and did not like the man at all. He was rude and very condescending. From then on I would go way out of my way to another store.
I finally stopped in again last evening after purchasing a lamb to keep as a pet on our acreage. I can imagine the look on my face when I saw the SAME man come out from the back– urgh!
I asked if he had any lamb feed, which of course he did not. I asked if he would be getting any in and he said they would have some when they reorder. I asked when that would be and he said whenever we decide to order some. OK, like that is real helpful. He then asked me why on earth would I buy a lamb and then proceeded to go on and on about saying why would someone buy a lamb if they aren’t going to eat it and what a waste of time and money an animal like that was. Seriously, how is this place still in business? Never again. Don’t waste your time at this place. This guy needs to go…

This is my first Unilocal review! I’m happy to be able to let people know about my experience here! I’m a new chicken owner, it was my second time purchasing feed for my chickens. I decided to visit TNT because it is only a few miles away from my home. I wasn’t to sure where to find the feed when I walked in, was searching around for awhile when a male employee finally came over to help me. I asked him for organic feed for larger chickens. He condescendingly told me that there is no difference in organic feed and what he had. When I know this isn’t so. I didn’t appreciate his attitude and told him his feed was over priced and not organic, so I would be going to Higley Feed, where they not only treat new people with respect but help you right away and even load it for you! Don’t buy here! Goto HIGLEY FEED they are very helpful, I don’t mind driving the extra miles!

Just so they don’t escape the review by changing their store name. I wrote a review a few years ago and realized it was on my mother’s account. Just updating it and reposting it for people to be warned.
I was shocked to see that Jesse is still working for this company despite so many bad reviews and even a bad reputation from friends if I mentioned the store by word of mouth.
I raised a goat through FFA a few years ago. Because this was the closest feed store, I would always buy from (formerly) Cactus Feeds. Ever single time I went into this store, Jesse never hesitated to just stare me up and down like a piece of meat. Keep in mind that I was only 16 years old just trying to buy some feed. I learned to throw on a baggy t-​shirt before coming into this store, even though it never stopped his eyes from staring at my chest even when I was talking to him.
I wasn’t the only one that noticed it. I went in with my sister and her boyfriend once and while we were checking out, her boyfriend noticed the same problem of this guy just staring at me. He turned to me and just whispered «Pull up your shirt.» The shirt was more than school appropriate, but Jesse just can’t even handle himself.
I talked to a few girls in my FFA chapter about Cactus feeds and they all said they had the same exact issue. Some of them wouldn’t even return to the store and would drive out further just to avoid Jesse.
THE BEST PART OF THIS? Shortly after I posted my review, my mother got a nice email from Cactus Feeds saying they would PRESS CHARGES if the review wasn’t removed. Interesting, considering stores can’t even offer a bribe to remove a review. And exactly what would you press charges for? Im dying to know. I’m the 16 year old girl being looked at like I’m a piece of meat by a full grown man.
Don’t waste your time here. You’ll have your daughter/​wife/​sister stared at up and down while you’re here. Take your money to a more respectable feed store until they get rid of Jesse.

On the plus side I felt like this store had a better selection of chicken supplies then where I was shopping before.
Even with that being said I will never return due to the extreme rude and disrespectful behavior of the male employee that everyone else has also complained about.
He was condescending and rude to another customer and her children in the store when I was there.
He also accused me of having a red bottom to a plastic container I was buying and when I clearly showed him that it was a red art project that my daughter was holding from summer camp that day he still went on about how he could have sworn that I had a red bottom that he made very clear was a separate charge from the plastic top I purchased.
This guy needs to be fired ASAP if this place has any chance of keeping it’s doors open.

Horrible customer service. I’m a new chicken owner and the guy was speaking to me like I was an idiot. I had some basic questions since I’ve never raised chickens before. I’ll never go back. PRATTS IS WORTH THR DRIVE. LOL

Horrible customer service. I’ve gone in twice now and I won’t ever go back again. I bought $ 130 worth of tack and when I went back to return something I was met with extremely rude service and the guy even argued with me for 30 minutes about the return! Everything is overpriced and you will be treated like shit. Do not go here…

This store changed its name to avoid the bad reviews from Cactus Feed which is what it was before.
I went back to this store after 2 years away do to the rude guy there. The place was just remodeled and looks great, BUT the RUDE SON OF A BITCH still is there. I can’t believe this guy still works there and still treats the customers like SHIT. I wish the nice young lady would take over daling with the customers, (She is so nice and polite) I guess she is the rude man’s Sister. She should just let him do the shit work in the back room and she should take care of customers. Anyway, I purchased some dog food from the nice young lady and she charged me 1.99 per can. I went back 1 week later and the gentleman behind the counter charged me 2.99 per can and when I told him that I bought the same food 1 week earlier for 1.99 each, he tried to tell me that it was the new shipment and that the price went up. I told him this was the same 6 cans I left earlier in the week when I bought them, and he said the price is 2.99 and if you don’t like it, don’t buy it!!! WHAT A RUDE SON OF A BITCH. Never Again will I go back there!

I’ve had several rabbits for years, with great resources to learn about their care and diet. We usually get hay from Tranquility Trail in Scottsdale but was out and about our neighborhood when I decided to check out the local feed places for hay just in case.
The younger woman who helped me was very knowledgeable, and I probably would have been quite happy returning to purchase from her. However the gentleman that also helped let me know they have some ‘not so good hay’ in the back, which can they clarified to be moldy hay, and that they usually break that down to sell in smaller bags for small animals.
Um… no. The younger woman must have realized how dumbfounded I was when he mentioned it and jumped in to say ‘no, that’s not good for rabbit’s stomachs, cows yes but rabbits no.‘
The gentleman was very matter of fact about pellets and compressed hay cubes that contain alfalfa, which is not good for adult rabbits, even when I expressed to him that it’s not good for my adult rabbit and it’s not what I was looking for.
Please do research about what you recommend to rabbit owners, the recommendations made with the moldy hay are just appalling.
