We love this school! The care they give each student is amazing. I have both my sons in this school and I feel so blessed to have them attend. Wouldn’t have my kids go anywhere else.

Our 2 kids have been at PPCS for 6 years! What I like best is the daily interaction you have with the teachers and staff. If something is not up to par you will be notified. Thank you Jesus for an awesome Christian school in our beautiful city of Gilroy!

After several years of hearing of their K-​8 program, I was thrilled to hear that they would be branching out into High School. We proposed the question to our then 8^th grader who was dead set on going to Live Oak. We went to the Open house in Spring of last year and by the time we left 45 minutes later she wanted to go. This meant a lot of praying and sacrifice on our blue collar salary but we are blessed in doing so.
Our daughter is thriving, she NEEDS a quieter surrounding for her to concentrate.
The teachers are caring and the environment is grace filled and a blessing. I wish they had more families that realized the benefit as her freshman class is quite small but either way, it’s a great place! All campuses are amazing and a lasting impact will be made with their years here!

My son is now in the 7^th grade and he loves it! Mrs. McElvy, Mr. Gorris, Mrs. Crowley and Mrs. Carmichael are awesome! If an assignments missing they’ll email me and let me know. They’re on it, and I love it!

Love this school. Teachers REALLY care about their students. Class sizes are small giving students a better learning environment. It’s a happy place where you feel like you are part of a big family. All 3 of my kids were well prepared going into high school and college.

My daughter is 6^th grader at PWCA Junior High. I can’t say enough about this school. They are caring, professional, and they are passionate about what they do. The teachers truly care about their student’s success.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a GREAT school and certainly better than anything else that Gilroy or the surrounding area has to offer. How would I know? Well, I happen to be the first boy to go from Kindergarten through 8^th grade at PWCA. Believe me, I’ve got the full scoop on the school. Last time I was a student there, it was 2004. Here are the pro’s and con’s of the school.
PROS:
— Christian based education — In an increasingly secular world, it’s good to know that your child can have a faith based education.
— Small class sizes — Plenty of individual attention to each student.
— After school care is pretty awesome, never had too many issues with it.
— Lots of great families sending their children there. You will get to know EVERYONE.
CONS:
— Administration — Does not know how to handle kids… at all. I was no saint, but I wasn’t a troubled kid… they just aren’t good with kids. Just plain unfriendly too. They need to switch it up there, that’s for sure.
— Sports teams are lame — I understand that sports teams takes a lot of $ and volunteer hours, but seriously? Green team vs. Blue team? It doesn’t teach kids the competitive edge that they will want or need to succeed at the next level. I played every sport PWCA has to offer as well and the training was… minimal. They need to play other schools.
— The middle school is just sad… Your child will not be getting the full experience. Don’t get me wrong, I loved K-​6^th, but the middle school was a joke. I was totally deprived of a normal pre-​teen life. You’re stuck on the roof of a church in 4 puny rooms…(Again I know it costs $$$), but seriously it’s lame. The curriculum is way too easy and is at least a year behind where it needs to be. I was not ready for Algebra at all by the time I got to high school, big surprise. No dances either? All my friends would talk about going to dances, but we didn’t have them… ok? lame.
— NUTJOB TEACHERS —
Maybe and HOPEFULLY this one has changed since I was there, but PWCA would hire the WORST teachers…5−8^th grade was like a carousel of terrible substitutes and teachers who weren’t qualified and couldn’t deal with children.
I understand trying different personnel, but it almost seemed like a fly by night organization with how much they’d switch staff around. Some of the teachers would go over and beyond their curriculum and spout off their personal opinions to impressionable kids… Don’t get me wrong I still get that in college now, but it was annoying to deal with it before I had even hit middle school.
Conclusion:
Don’t get me wrong, I met some great people and one of my best friends (to this day) at PWCA, I received a solid faith based education (up to middle school), and got to hold on to my innocent ears much longer than I would have at a public school. Sending your child to PWCA is a great decision, just make sure you’re very active in talking to the teachers and finding out what’s going on in the classroom. Unless the middle school has DRASTICALLY improved itself, I wouldn’t recommend sending your kid there.

Loving environment, challenging classes, great staff and overall a fun and nurturing school!

We just finished the first year as part of Pacific West. My son was enrolled in their Kindergarten class with Mrs. Baxter, and I have nothing but praise for her and the school, and as long as we live in this area I plan to send all our children.
