Mt Baker Lodging

We were mislead by the service agent as to the quality of condo we were booking. We ended up in an overpriced dump with a lukewarm hot tub. The customer service manager was rude an unhelpful.

My friends and I have been renting from Mt. Baker Lodging for several years now. We usually get a big group together and they are always very helpful when we are trying to find 2 – 3 cabins that can sleep 20 – 30 people.
The cabins we have rented have varied in age, décor and amenities and the prices fairly reflect that. The kitchens are always stock appropriately with basic supplies which makes cooking for a large group easier. The houses are always spotless upon arrival and the hot tubs cleaned and ready to go.
I would recommended this company as I feel it is very good value for money and their customer service has been excellent over the years.

I am not sure we’re all talking about the same place. What we rented was not a «cabin» but a big house on Silver Lake. I am not sure what «cabins» these other reviewers are talking about.

We got together with a group of friends to rent a house in the mountains over the holidays. Hip Hip Hurray to our friend who meticulously sent out links and pictures to all of us then emailed owners about availability. It was no small feat.
When we got there, we were impressed with the location right on the lake and the size of the house to accommodate all of us comfortably, then we sat down on the very outdated but functional sectionals. I caved in the cushions, and no I am not fat (but could lose a few, but not in that fat american kind of way). What the fuck, after the first one, then NO FUCKING WAY, after the second one. we couldn’t sit on them. We moved them out of the living room, so some of us sat on the floor so as not to sit on each other’s lap. Weird shit, CHEAP FUCKING OWNERS.
Okay, what the fuck ever, right? So, we were cooking some awesome meals; this group knows their food (not me, I’m just a tagalong). We were set to use the oven to bake when all of a sudden it shut off with some error message about it needing to be serviced… on Christmas Fucking Eve Morning. NO WAY. We were there two more days with cooking going on for every breakfast and dinner. We called the office and left a message. Of course we never heard back, it was Christmas Fucking Eve Morning. The oven worked intermittently, but not always when we needed it.
There were a number of other displays of trashiness — beer cans and cigarette butts around the outside of the house, as well as broken items throughout the house.
Here’s the kicker: We contact the management company telling them about all of this shit and they tell us the owners won’t offer any type of refund. Their excuse is we never contacted them about it! But, we did.
HEY GREEDY OWNERS: WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK AND WE ARE GOING TO MAKE YOUR LACK OF MORALS KNOWN! Peace out. you’re a dime a dozen. Next.

Recently my friends and I decided to treat ourselves to a beautiful mountain home for the Christmas holiday. It was high season rate, and we bit the bullet.
We rented House #7, on Silver Lake for 3 nights at almost $ 600 per night. The house itself is beautifully designed. The photos of the house are accurate. What we got however was a broken down sofa that was the main living room furniture, a «gourmet kitchen» with a stove that kept shutting off with some sort of F1−3 reading, and a list of other issues that frankly were ridiculous for a rental at this price. (Come one… You don’t provide kleenex? or salt and pepper? or working soap dispensers? How about an actual cookie sheet that’s not rusted?) We did call on Christmas Eve and left a message about the stove, but no response and really not a surprise. It was the holiday. I did also stop by the office on our way home on the 26^th to give them our comments, and I asked for some compensation for a house not up to the standard (especially at this price). The rental manager seemed very concerned and polite and said they will contact the owner. Two weeks and nothing. I finally called them back, and was sent an email which said the owner thought the issues were not legitimate and timely. (what?) His response was rude and disrespectful of the situation. (Frankly I would put money on the fact that he would not have driven out to this house on Christmas day to replace the large wrap-​around sofa. Who is he kidding?)
We will not be renting from Mt. Baker Lodging if this is how issues are handled with their rentals. It appears from other reviews that you never know what you’re renting. The quality is all over the place. Good to know. Wish I had checked this out earlier.

So far, Mt. Baker Lodging has disappointed and we haven’t even stayed at one of their MANY properties yet. I think that if you have no issues booking then you will not have a problem but I must share the experience I have had with them thus far. I have desperately been trying to book a cabin for MLK weekend and have run into snags because we are not trying to stay Sunday night. Understandably, people want more money for holiday weekends so most places are requiring 3 night minimums. I am okay with that. You do your thing.
What I am not okay with is the rudeness that was displayed to my friend after a slight misunderstanding (not on our part) with booking. My friend who was booking on my behalf, was completely reamed on the telephone and I was in shock to hear some of the things that were said to him.
I understand that companies that have their properties on many different sites can sometimes fall behind trying to update their calendars but because it was a mistake on their part, I would think that they would have handled it with grace and politeness. We didn’t demand for them to make an exception and we understood that it was a mistake on their part and took it as that. We didn’t expect their to be any difficulties with the whole thing but the woman on the phone was so completely rude that both my friend and I were shocked.
I don’t doubt that with the right circumstances, this company is a great place to get a nice place near Mount Baker. I do think that there are going to be times when mistakes and misunderstandings will happen and that these «professionals» will handle it in the most wrong of ways.

What an awesome place! Close enough to the mountain that you don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn! Large cabins that comfortably house about 10 – 12 of your closest friends for a fun weekend of (ahem…moderate!) drinking, hot tubbing, and snowboarding! Love it! Thanks for a fantastic weekend!
Taking off one star for the «free wifi» claim, but only having (very slow) wifi in the clubhouse. There is no reception here so plan on having a cell free and mostly wifi free weekend. I don’t mind no wifi, but please advertise as such!

I have stayed with this agency many times. People that work there are great. They will always go an extra mile for you. The only thing that I did not appreciate is that they did not have a criteria for houses they are managing. What would happen to me is that we would pay the same price, same number of people, but the difference in amenities and qualities of the house would be huge. At time we had a houses that were old, moldy, with horribly small rooms, but we paid exactly the same for amazing, spacious house with all amenities and such. Since I have rented so many times I have had my own system where I would never rent the houses that were a horrible deal for the money. I would recommend this agency, but do your research before you go. Pictures of the house insides sometimes are made to make the house look new and desirable. Old house with cheap furniture and lights that are not working will destroy your stay. I called Mt. Baker lodging to complain about the house, but they were not able to do anything about it.

I have stayed with Mt. Baker Lodging in a number of their units over the past several years. They have a great selection/​diversity of homes and cabins and you can count on a professional experience when booking through them. It’s especially appreciated that some of their units, including some very nice ones, are also pet friendly.

Shhhh… I almost don’t want to give out this little secret but I absolutely love going down to the Mt. Baker region and staying in one of the many cabins that are being rented out through Mt. Baker Lodging.
I’ve been booking various cabins through Mt. Baker Lodging for years now and don’t have any complaints about their service. They have a great system in place and offer after hours pick up for keys to the cabins which is great if you are heading there after work on a Friday night. The cabins can accommodate various group sizes, some are pet friendly, and some have hot tubs.
If you want to get back to the basics, leave the land of technology then booking a cabin through Mt. Baker Lodging is the way to go. There is no cell reception in the area and cabins do not have internet access. It really is all about getting out and exploring the great outdoors all the while enjoying the comfort of a nice cozy cabin to come back to.

Snowline is one of many communities along Mt. Baker highway that are perfect for a weekend getaway.
There are individual cabins and condo/​loft units to suit any party, ahem ** I mean… group size.
Since we were there for Mt. Baker, we did not make full use of the pool, hot tub, trail system, and tennis courts. But a summer trip might be in order.
Here is the deets on our solid rental experience:

— 2 large beds, 1 which was in the loft upstairs
— small deck
— BASIC TV served by old school VHS
— dining room
— cozy gas fireplace
— walk down to the river!

Got a raucous group??? Beware, this place might not be for you depending on what «owners» happen to be in town the night you rent.
