Serenity Salon & Spa

When I visit my family in Glasgow, I usually try to book an appointment at Serenity.
Serenity is the brainchild of one of the local physicians, Dr. Melissa Walton-​Shirley. Dr. Walton-​Shirley was on vacation with her family and went to a salon/​spa while there. She came back and decided that Glasgow needed a place like that as well since the closest one was in Bowling Green. Serenity has now been open a little over a year.
Glasgow desperately needed something like this. While there are lots of small salons that work well for most needs, there wasn’t a local place to get a decent manicure, pedicure, massage, or the like. And the décor is fabulous. It’s modern, sleek, and somewhat French-​inspired. Serenity is also an Aveda salon, and prices are very reasonable – particularly compared to prices in Chicago’s upscale salons.
The owners managed to hire some capable, competent, and caring stylists. I had my hair done this past weekend, and I am quite pleased. Renee did an excellent job. She listened, offered advice, and then worked with me to find a suitable solution.
When I’m in Glasgow, I will continue to make Serenity a stop on my trip.
