Established in 2000.

David Carlson practiced law for many years with Esposito, Coleman & Carlson. Unfortunately, his mentor Nick Esposito fell ill with cancer and had to retire. David had admired Judson Collier for many years, even facing him in court when Mr. Collier was a Prosecutor. Since both were in need of a «new» partnership they decided to form Carlson & Collier.(Another partner has since moved on) They have logged many hours working separately and together to defend their clients. Both have the mentality that hard work, attention to detail and always coming to court prepared is essential to receiving the best possible outcome for each and every one of their clients. There are many lawyers in the Greater Richmond, Virginia area however, not all lawyers are the same. David Carlson was born and raised in Lancaster County in Virginia’s Northern Peninsula. He graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 1976. In 1980 David received his Juris Doctor Law degree from the University of Richmond and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar.

After graduation David had the Honor of serving as the Executive Assistant and Counsel to Virginia Governor John N. Dalton. At the time he was only 25, making him the youngest ever to hold that position.

In 1982 Mr. Carlson entered private practice and has devoted his time to diligently representing clients throughout the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. He is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in Virginia including the Eastern and Western Districts for The United States District Court, The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
