Duck Donuts – West Broad Village

Love every location of this Donut shop. Thankfully, this one is near home. Perfect location and great inside atmosphere. Lots of room for sitting inside. Yeah!
Faves in our house? Maple bacon, powdered sugar, glazed and all of the «specialty».

These donuts are the absolute best. Lines are minimal to none, staff is friendly and helpful, and my donuts always taste spot on. Can’t say anything negative about this location or their donuts!

Pros: everything is cooked fresh to order and the amount of customization is amazing, staff are very friendly and patient. The price was really good too.
Cons: got pretty messy attempting to eat while driving, and I found a hair in the glaze.
So I had been meaning to try this place for a while and finally found myself in the area with a hunger and some time to spare. Parking wasn’t bad, but I get the feeling especially during busy times that could be very different. When I walked in I was surprised because I didn’t know they were actually made fresh to order. I mean they actually make the donuts as you order them. Everyone knows to go to Krispy Kreme when you see the light on right? This is like that all the time. It was pretty cool to actually watch the process as well.
When I walked up to the counter and looked at the menu I was a little intimidated. The menu offers three steps of donut creation, but I didn’t know what I was looking at at first. The cashier was very helpful and took the time to explain how the menu worked. It took a few minutes for the donuts to be made, but the smells were very much a pleasant distraction. They also make sure that everything looks good before you leave.
I left to go run some errands, planning to eat on the way. That was a mistake on my part. The donuts were hot and fresh, but hotter than I anticipated. I recommend waiting a few minutes for everything to cool down. Also driving while trying to eat these isn’t a great idea, but again, not a deal breaker.
So the first donut? Awesome. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would eat again. The second though, contained an unpleasant surprise in the form of a very long hair that was concealed in the glaze. Luckily I noticed it before actually biting into the donut but that kind of killed it for me. I honestly don’t think this is typical though, because overall the place was very clean, but the hair killed it for me.
Overall the donuts were good, and honestly I would probably recommend it based on taste, but for me the hair was a pretty big deal breaker.

That is an amazing donut. They add all the things to it for you in person, so it’s warm and happy when it goes in your belly. I got mine with chocolate and bacon because that sounded yummy at the time. It was.
In general, these are good donuts. You should put them in your belly.

Great service and fresh donuts, consistent with Duck’s other locations. These are my favorite donuts in the whole world. I like to keep an order form at home, so house guests can pick their own donut configuations when we order a dozen.

The donuts are the BEST! I would describe the type of donut a hybird of Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme. Not comepletely solid like DD but not quite as featherlight as KK. They are wonderfully fresh and made-​to-​order, with tasty toppings to fit your fancy. The price is around the same you’d pay for a dozen here in the RVA (around $ 12)

My boss shamed me for never having tried Duck Donuts (I’d never even heard of them until he mentioned them), so when I found out there was one near my hotel when I traveled to Richmond for work, I just knew I had to try one and absolve myself of the guilt of never indulging in this legendary yumminess.
I see now why he made such a big deal about it. These donuts are gooooooood! Fresh and made to order. I ordered two: one with maple frosting, peanuts on top, and blackberry drizzle. The other with lemon frosting, coconut flakes on top, and raspberry drizzle.
Oh. Wow. The flavors and textures, combined with the chewy, warm cake-​y goodness made for a truly unique donut experience. And the donuts are still warm when they’re serve to you… that’s definitely the icing on the cake, er, donut.

Ladies and Gentlemen, at the risk of being sacrilegious, Duck Donuts is what Krispy Kreme wants to be when they grow up.
The donuts themselves are a cake donut, but the texture is like a cross between a cake and a risen donut. The glazes and toppings are put on when you order them. They’re delivered to you warm. You can have them YOUR way, and trust me it’s going to take several visits before you know what your way is, because there’s plenty of options to chose from.
The place is clean and open. It smells awesome from the time you open the door. The staff is friendly. My wife and I travel out of our way to go here. Top notch, baby!

These were really delicious. My family and I enjoy the location in Willow Lawn, but this one is more convenient. We tried them out tonight and were not disappointed. We all love the cinnamon sugar doughnuts. The staff is very friendly and we didn’t wait long for our doughnuts. I had a great conversation with one of the staff members which gave them a personable appeal. I will be returning very soon!

Their shop at Willow Lawn was definitely worth the trip, but now I don’t have to go as far. It was clean, staff was very friendly, and fast. Love this place! Peanut butter is the best topping in my opinion, but also like the bacon maple. Keep it up!

First time visitor… and will be back. I actually got a breakfast bagel and it was delicious. My daughter got the «zebra“‘ donut and loved it! Very friendly staff and clean restaurant!

Super yummy selection of donuts! Kids enjoyed being able to pick out their toppings. Sprinkles are always a hit. I am a cake donut lover and it did not disappoint, even without the toppings. Can’t wait to go back to Richmond and visit Duck Donuts again!

I’m normally not a cake donut-​type of person, but these donuts are AMAZING. The donuts are fresh and the toppings are delicious. The location is cute, clean, and a great addition to the WBV community.

We went here last minute to try it out, we have been meaning to for a while. The inside was really cute and smelled great! I saw a lady making the donuts and they looked so fresh and tasty!
The manager was really friendly, and we got the strawberry and chocolate donuts and it was like $ 2.50 for both which is a great price for 2 gourmet donuts. We will come again.

The donuts are warm, fresh, and fluffy. Since it’s custom made, the ordering process takes a lot longer than the usual donut shop. This shop is spacious, clean, and inviting. The prices are good for custom made. $ 12 for a dozen.

The donuts are freshly fried and topped — this is obviously a really delicious donut. There are plenty of options for toppings, so you can customize for each person’s moods. I went with a group and ordered a half-​dozen donuts in many different combinations. If in a group, I would recommend ordering separate boxes or specifically ask for a plate, otherwise you will have some sticky hands. They’re nice and seem to have a quality operation.

The space is brand new so very clean, bright, lots of colors, beach themed so Adirondack chairs everywhere. I went with a friend around 5pm so it wasn’t very busy which was great because we got to talk to they guy working the counter about all the flavors. He mentioned most popular flavors, his favorite flavors, specials they had going on that week. So very knowledgeable and I ended up picking two flavors I wouldn’t have normally chosen.
I got the Reeses which is peanut butter icing with chocolate icing drizzled on top and the strawberry lemonade which was strawberry icing with lemon icing drizzled on top. Both were amazing. My friend got the Almond Joy which she raved about! Getting the donuts fresh and sitting down right away is definitely a plus cause they are warm but the icing is super sticky and messy so grab extra napkins!
I am glad they opened this location because it is close to my office!

I was visiting in the area and heard about this place and their fabulous donuts. It’s a very different experience from other donut shops in that you can customize your order as much or as little as you like. I jade the Reese donut and the glazed topped with bacon. Yum! I was so excited to try them that I forgot to photograph them. So I only have pictures of the store itself.

Yes! The hype is real. Straight from Duck, NC to Richmond, VA.
This is the first donut shop that mentioned they were coming to Short Pump and actually came. Otherwise, you have to travel to he other side of town for donuts.
The donuts are cake donuts which are made while you wait. You choose your own topping.
Personally, I’ve always been a fan of cake donuts, so this is awesome.
They also sell t-​shirts, hoodies, coffee mugs etc with Duck Donuts logo.
There’s seating inside. Yes, you can get that coffee, tea, etc to go along with your donuts.
