Patti did a great job on my wedding dress. I have been warned by several friends to always expect to pay way more than you think for alterations. The bill was steeper than I expected, but was worth every penny. The dress was perfect. My only complaint was the dress wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be. We were having a destination wedding and the dress was supposed to be ready the day before we left. It wasn’t, so I wasn’t able to pick it up until the day we took off, but everything worked out fine.

I needed a dress hemmed in a pinch. I went to multiple places and finally a competitor actually recommended this place. I figured they must be good if the competition even recommends them. I brought my dress in on a Saturday and she finished it by Thursday so I could wear it on Friday. It looked great!

I was searching for a tailor to redo parts of my wedding dress, as well as basic alterations, and found Patti on Unilocal.She was professional and personable and did a wonderful job. I cannot recommend Patti more highly.

I recently lost of weight, so I brought in a suit for some adjustment. The pants were nicely done, with the exception that the waist was still too large — I told them to err on the smaller side. The only adjustment to the jacket was to shorten the sleeves, that’s where I feel very unhappy about the work. One of the sleeves was twist a little, and you could tell by the work that they didn’t put enough attention to details: the brand of the suit is Moschino and if you are familiar with the brand, it’s known that one of the sleeve buttons has that «peace» shape sewed with red thread; when I got it back, I found out that the button wasn’t aligned in the right direction (it was in the right order though to their credit), and they used some very thick thread to sew that very button (regular thread for the rest buttons) which I have no idea why they did that as the red thread wasn’t thick, the only difference was the color. Also, they couldn’t put the decorative button openings back which they shared upfront. Again, I am not sure whether/​why that’s something they couldn’t do — I feel it shouldn’t be very complicated if they have the right equipment. I was lazy to bring it back, and since the Suit wasn’t crazily expensive, so I didn’t really bother to do it.
I am not sure whether this only applies to one of the workers there or it’s the theme. Overall, if you bring in something that’s really expensive or you really care about, make sure you make it clear about your expectations (this was my first visit to the shop so I made the assumption that they would take care of that; and I went there for the awesome reviews); and check the work really closely to make sure everything looks the way you requested.

Patti and crew are incredibly efficient, do great work all for a very fair price. She talks through the details of exactly what they can do whether it is a simple pant hem or taking in a suit or formal dress. Worth driving from Midlothian, passing other tailors, to come to her.

Patti P’s knocks it out of the park when it comes to alterations. Prior to my first visit, Patti had been recommended to me multiple times by friends, and her Unilocal reviews were stellar, so I was expecting greatness. Thankfully, greatness is what I got!
My first visit was about six months ago, and I needed to have a few pieces taken in, a dress shortened, and two pairs of pants hemmed. I needed the dress for an upcoming trip, and when I first dropped by to pick it up, it wasn’t ready, but Patti made sure it was ready just a few hours later so that I could have it in time for my early morning departure the next day. Because of the confidence I felt in Patti’s work following this first trip, I decided to take my rehearsal dinner dress to her to fix. I say fix because I bought it knowing it was ill-​fitting, but I just loved it and couldn’t pass it up. She was able to look at it on me and immediately know exactly what she needed to do to the top of the dress in order to make it fit my body. When I brought it home and tried it on after the alterations, I was thrilled with the result! I’m never one to chance anything, so I had a back-​up dress on reserve just in case the alterations didn’t go well, but Patti came through yet again and now I can wear my first choice dress.

As a male customer, I had a great experience here. I have had her do some minor alterations to pants in the past, but this time, I had a suit from a distance-​tailoring company called Indochino. You submit your measurements online, order the suit you want, the options you want, and then they make it in Asia and ship it to you.
When I received the suit, the coat looked like it was cut for someone with arms about 3 inches shorter than mine and the torso of a child. I’m not overweight, but I could have done the Chris Farley «fat man in a little coat» routine.
I brought it to Patti and she gave me instructions to send to Indochino’s tailors, which led to an excellent replacement. After one more adjustment by Patti, it’s a great looking suit.
She really knows her stuff– what is fixable, what isn’t, and what is cost prohibitive vs. worthwhile. I also happened to see her working with the new Miss Virginia on her gown for her operatic performance, so that’s another vote of confidence (she hadn’t won then, but did end up winning the competition).

Patti has been doing my alterations since I moved to Richmond in 2004. I won’t go to anybody else. She’s the best and her prices and customer service are great as well.

Patti and her team saved me from a bridesmaid dress disaster and now they have all my alterations business (which is considerable!). She knows how to alter clothes to fit specific shapes and realizes a «one size fits all» approach doesn’t work. I can’t say enough good things!

I cannot say ENOUGH good things about Patti! She is a TRUE miracle worker! I was SO worried about my disaster of a wedidng dress not working out (the seams were horrible!). She made it to fit me like a glove (and I look SO thin… for a curvy girl this is AWESOME!) I will be bringing EVERYTHING to Patti! Try her I assure you you will NOT be dissapointed! Shes fabulous, fast, and a true professional… the BEST in the Business!

Patti is great! Bought my dream dress, and continued dieting. To make a long story short, I lost about 2 sizes. Patti basically undid the dress and sized it to my proportions. All of this in less than 1 month! Her price, very reasonable! After this, I’ve continued to take all my clothing that need some kind of alterations to Patti.

Let me tell you a story that I think a lot of women on here have likely experienced. Was in a wedding a year ago. Had to order my dress online going only by measurements without being able to try the dress on. In my 26 years of living this has never faired well for me but I was hopeful! Long story short the dress arrived and the tears flowed! I couldn’t believe how terrible the cut/​fit was. While I stood in my mothers living room sobbing and whining like a toddler about how terrible I looked my mom called her neighbor who used to own a bridal consignment shop. Her friend recommended Patti P tailors. This is where the sun starts shining and I stop crying. Patti P totally revamped my dress. I mean took a one-​shoulder to a strapless, probably cut a good couple feet off the cupcake bottom of the dress. She just made it work! Patti was awesome to work with and kept her word on how when my dress would be ready. She gives quality service and quality results!
Without a doubt, I won’t go anywhere but Patti P for all my alternation needs!

I brought a pair of pants in short notice– I needed them to be hemmed by that evening that very day and Patti had them done by noon (and they were the *perfect* length)! Words cannot express how thankful I am that she could help me!

I cannot say enough about Patti. She is so friendly and does a great job on all of my alterations. I am short, so I always need pants hemmed. She has quick turn around and good prices. I take all of my formal dresses to her to be altered, and my husband takes all of his clothes to her too. She has had a few occasions where shirt sleeves are hemmed incorrectly, but she has done whatever she needs to to make it right. Sometimes that is redoing the alteration, or sometimes she has bought a new Brooks Brothers shirt to replace the one that got ruined. I will keep going to Patti P for all my alternations.
