I filled out the forms to purchase a firearm in May when Maryland released the details for their new laws True their staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to just about any type of firearm. Also good was their direction when filling out the forms and their input for the changes the new gun laws would bring. These two points are the only reasons I didn’t give them 1 star and here’s where they fall short: When the approval came back from the State they made no attempt to contact me. I was told to just keep calling them to find out if it had been received. How long does it take to make a phone call? We’re talking about home protection and they found it laughable that Maryland was taking forever to complete the approvals. It wasn’t funny to me, how many bad guys got guns in the 4 months it took me to get one the right way? No sense of urgency or any attempt to expedite the process. When I called them for the 20th time they finally said«yes, we have the approval,» so I went to pick up the following day. Well lucky me that happened to be the Monday that the Redskins and Ravens played pre-season and it took 3 hours to get from Alexandria to Glen Burnie. The posted hours are until 6:00pm and I arrived at 5:45. I was told the paperwork would take 10 – 15 minutes on the phone. The open sign in the window was on and a gentleman came to the door and asked what I wanted. I said my gun paperwork came back. He said I would’ve had to been there hours ago to get that done and he refused to let me in. After I told him that I left at 2:30 to get there and showing up at close wasn’t intentional. He said he was sorry he couldn’t help me. They’re closed on Tuesdays so on Wednesday I went before work to avoid traffic. I signed two simple forms and initialed in a few places and I wasn’t there a total of 8 minutes. The approval had sat there for 11 days which was the day after I called to check the time before it came back. Again no urgency or concern for my situation. Great gun and law knowledge with customer service that isn’t part of their protocol. It is a Pawn Shop so I wasn’t expecting warm towels when I walked in the door but I didn’t think I wouldn’t be let in the building during normal business hours.

A&D Pawn was the last place I thought I would end up buying a gun from, but let me say out of all the places I visited and personnel I chatted with, this place got my thumbs up. A lot of people are weary of buying a gun from a pawn shop, but the selection at this place was better than the local gun shops and even Bass Pro. They dont have very many used guns, but their selection of new guns is pretty great. The prices are cheaper than all the other stores too. Their staff is very knowledgable on each type of gun they are sellling and will answers any questions you have in a flash. They were’nt pushy at all, in fact I was torn between buying a .40 cal and a .45, and the gentleman that I was talking to actually told me to go shoot both at a local range and come back when I decided which one to buy. To top it all off, when I decided to finally purchase my gun they told me I could simply make payments on it while I was waiting for the liscense to go through. Overall a staff of very kind, knowledgable, and non-pushy people
