Physical therapist shaved 5 minutes off each session. Occupational therapists were pleasantly, but not very helpful. Doctors were terrible. I called it drive by medicine. Usually exams were conducted in the hall or in occupational therapy. I fell down twice after two days and had to be admitted last the the hospital

Went to visit grandmother to find she had bruises on her eye, cheek and arm. Was told she fell out of bed. No one contacted our family or contacted a doctor to see her. They could not tell us when she had fallen or how long she was on the floor until someone found her. We had to yell and cause a scene in order for them to call an ambulance so she can been looked at in glen cove ER. There was no supervisor to speak to and we were told come back another day to file a complaint. No one could answer any questions as to why they didn’t call family or her doctor. They do not care about about their patients and cover up any mistakes that happen. It’s very sad and the state should shut them down for neglect.

I entered this facility after knee replacement surgery. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their rehab dept. The rehab staff is caring, knowledgeable and determined to have you walk out of there a fully functioning person. I loved the décor which was very modern looking and not at all«nursing home» flavored. Afternoon socials with great snacks also available to my family and friends, made the days enjoyable. The nursing staff was excellent and the Customer Relations people did everything possible to make my stay comfortable. Need to have my other knee done, and I will definitely return to Glen Cove Center.

My mother in law had a knee replacement and entered this facilty. The physical therapy is wonderful, twice a day, and the people are all very qualified and pleasant. Rooms are not great– looks something like an old motel that went in for a «quick fix» makeover. Beds are HORRIBLE– they look like cots, and my MIL said they were very uncomfortable. Climate control is bad– place is overheated during the winter, and rooms have in the wall air conditioners. One of the employees mentioned summer is not too comfortable. Now for the REALLY weak link here– the nursing. Most of the aides are fine during the day. My MIL mentioned it was sometimes difficult to get anyone to respond at night. One night her roommate became ill, and NOONE answered their call. Aides on the night shift often take the chairs out of the rooms, and sleep on them. Plus, my mother in law was not taking any pain meds, but one night requested two Tylenols because she felt achy after PT. Apparently they gave her wrong medication, and she became very ill as a result. They failed to check her when she rang for help, and, of course, in the morning they denied that wrong medication was given. When my MIL complained about the mistake, the head nurse(male) became very verbally abusive. As a result, my MIL left the facilty that day. As the other person said, I WOULD not recommend this facility for anyone, nursing is not good. It is a shame because the PT is very good for the people who are just there for hip or knee replacements. Definitely a NO for anyone who is not totally aware of what is going on at all times.

We had a terrible experience with this facility when my elderly father-in-law was admitted for several weeks for recovery. One of the housekeepers who cleaned his room threw away his dentures that sat on his food tray. After many attempts to contact both the facility Social Worker, Carolyn, and Administrator, Jill, both through email, multiple phone messages and an in-person visit, we got no response or acknowledgement of any kind. In addition, I made 7 attempts to call the facility over the course of 2 weeks and no one even answered the call. I just heard the phone ring repeatedly until I finally hung up. Once he was release and in our care, we were forced to pureee my Father-in-law’s food because he no longer had a way to chew. We had just gotten him fitted for a new set of dentures when he passed away. The level of patient care and customer service that this facility provides is abysmal. This is not the only complaint we had, but it was one that carries a financial cost to us, while we continue to receive bills for Glen Cove’s «service». Avoid this facility at all costs unless you or your loved one is young and in complete grasp of their faculties. Do not entrust the helpless to their care. Bonnie
