John’s Auto Repair offers professional repair and body services for foreign and domestic automobiles in Glen Cove, NY. We share a bay with Motorwerks and are located on Sea Cliff Road.

At John’s Auto Repair, we perform all general mechanical repairs for your automobile. From diagnostics to shocks, brakes, tune-​ups, mufflers and exhaust — we can handle it all. Need a quick oil change? We’re your shop. John’s Auto Repair can handle any type of service work on your automobile, and performs New York state inspections as well as CarCo photo inspections for insurance. Diagnostics are our specialty, and we have master technicians on staff to service you.

The other shop on the side of our building offers body work and does down draft oven bake spray. We use PPG paint products and spray cars with environmentally-​friendly water based paint. We also do auto detailing. Come see us for all of your Glen Cove automotive needs!

Business Owner

Owner John Shortell has a long history of experience in the automotive industry. He’s got a passion for mechanical things — understanding them, fixing them, learning how they work. His passion led him to a 15 year long career racing cars in NASCAR! John graduated from Denver Automobile and Diesel College in 1983, so his education in the industry started early. Even before that, he worked for people in the car business when he was just a high school student. John is the chief tech at John’s Auto Repair, so you know your car will be taken care of. He and his team are dedicated to performing quality repairs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
