Whether riding in the arena or just meandering around the property, the energy here is relaxed. This is a no drama barn. Everyone is friendly and low key. Boarders ride bareback, Western, and English. A few horses are retired but get plenty of attention. I moved my horse to K2 for the winter in December and I rest easy knowing that Kathy, her family, and staff are keeping him safe and happy. The horses are fed 3 X per day. Just let Kathy know what type of hay you’d like fed. Gabriel takes care of feeding, cleaning, blankets, and supplements as well. There is a guest room for boarders to stay in at the main barn just in case a horse is sick and needs frequent check ins. This is a great location for riding at the regional park, Jack London, or Point Reyes. Trailer parking here is a cinch. As for places to ride on site, K2 has a small covered round pen, access to an outdoor short court dressage arena, and a lovely path for a trail loop around the lake and paddocks. The horses live in large fields that are built into the natural oak savannah landscape. There are various stabling options and several corrals have shelters. The areas without shelters have trees so the horses can get out of the wind. The tack room, cross ties, and wash rack are extremely clean. There is a full sized refrigerator and a porch with cantina for parties. Last winter Kathy and her family organized a holiday get together including a taco truck. The food and company were amazing. I can not say enough positive things about K2. It’s not a training or showing facility but if you are just into being with your horse and being around grounded equestrians, call Kathy for a tour.
