My friend and I decided to top off our Girl’sWeek with their Barrel Tasting package, a combination of massage, foot scrub and facial. Martha and Kat were our therapists, and they were superb. The massage is done inside a giant old wine barrel, which is kind of cool. They use all natural oils and products. Really a wonderful experience.

A very relaxing enjoyable hour, I left ridiculously relaxed and very thankful for the experience.

Magical Massage is the most amazing place I’ve every had a massage. Willow is the best massage I’ve had in years. The whole environment is relaxing and I can’t wait to visit California again.

I’ve had lots of massages. I’ve had cheap ones and expensive ones. I’ve been to independent spas and chain spas. I’ve had massages in San Francisco, Manhattan, Europe, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand. All that being said, I’d like to consider myself a spa connoisseur.
Usually I find something wrong whenever I go. Either the pressure is too hard or too soft, the masseuse talks too much, I hear other people talking, music is annoying, I feel too greasy from the oil, too much chafing from not enough oil, temperature isn’t comfortable… so many things can be wrong with a massage experience.
The massage I had today at Magical Massage was by far, the best massage I have ever had in my entire life. We (my mom and I) got the 90 minute Magical Massage and the 60 minute Magical Organic Facial Massage. Yes, we splurged, but it was well worth it. The masseuses were Carolyn (my mom’s) and Kim (mine).
Every single detail about this experience was perfect. The smells, the sounds (silence other than soft music and the sound of raindrops hitting the skylight above), the pressure, the room itself which is an old wine barrel, the hot stones, and the warm towels all allowed me to feel more relaxed and pampered than I ever dreamed was possible. As I drifted in and out of consciousness, I just couldn’t believe what an amazing experience I was having.
I will probably never go any where else in Sonoma County for a massage again and can’t come back soon enough! My experience at Magical Massage was life changing. 24 hours later and I still can’t stop thinking about it!

The masseuse refused to apply more pressure because «I was paying a groupon price.» The massage was barely a massage, moreso a light skin stroke, and her response was wholely unprofessional, besides un-​relaxing.

You haven’t experienced Napa until you have a massage in a wine barrel.
Magical Massage is a humble hidden gem in beautiful Sonoma. My friend and I came here after a day of wining in Napa, and we loved the «Barrel Tasting» massages we got — 90 minute full body massages complete with hot stones, foot scrub, and facial. We found this place on Groupon and booked our massages the day of – so accommodating! Kat (my masseuse) was wonderful and took care to spend extra time on tenser regions. My favorite part was the facial — so many layers (there were at least 4, I lost track)! I’d say this is the perfect spa for your Napa visit, and I couldn’t recommend it more!

I got the barrel massage and it was so good! I had Carolyn, who found and work on every knots. So good! I was SO relaxed afterwards. Most massage I’ve got was okay, Carolyn top that. I plan on going back.

I took my wife for a couples massage and the ladies are very nice with a talented touch.

I think massage therapy is one of the best forms of restorative health and wellness methods in the world. Nothing beats human touch in life, to me.
That being said, we have an abundance of extraordinarily talented and healer gifted massage practitioners in the SF Bay Area. I found more of them at this lovely place, Magical Massage and Inspiration Gallery.
I’ve experienced multiple massages from Martha, Willow, and Cat. All three are very talented, well trained, nicely experienced, and kind as can be. I am touched (pun intended) by each one of them and their intuitive and compassionate massage abilities.
I love the deep-​tissue with stone massage that each of them do. The aromatherapy with essential oils is a plus as well. The massages for either sixty minutes or ninety minutes are on the the expensive side. But, the prices are on par with spa massages and are still less than what resorts usually charge.
The massage studio is in a novel location, inside a gigantic wine-​barrel. The gallery part of the studio is on the small side as it does not occupy much space in the building.
The town of Glen Ellen is the ultimate tiny, laid-​back, boutique-​ish, wine country village in Sonoma Valley. There are a number of upscale restaurants close to Magical Massage.
Everyone at Magical Massage and Inspiration Gallery treat me very warmly and always greet me with a warm hug and a parting hug as well.
Incredible massages and genuine hugs. .. what more can I say.

Took my daughter for her first massage as a 21^st birthday present and of course I had to have one too. We loved it, Magical is a perfect name for this place. Martha and Cat were fabulous, as was Carolyn. We had the Barrel Tasting massages– hot stone massages, facial, and a foot scrub. They were very understanding of my scent allergy and made sure they used unscented products which I so appreciated. The place is funky and small. So small we had to wait outside until the previous clients finished up, but weather was fabulous and the massages even better. My daughter enjoyed it so much I purchased her another package for a Christmas present. If you use Groupon as we did, it is best to print out your coupons before you get there as cell service is touchy.

This was my husband and I’s very first massage! They warned us before we started that the other types of massages are nothing compared to this. And they were right! I dont know what other place can top this! It was a 90minute massage with foot scrub and facial and also aromatherapy! And they gave us a take home gift! This was such a great experience! Kat (my masseuse) was great! She made sure that she was using the right pressure and that if it were too hard or not, to let her know. She made sure the towels and stones werent too hot. They were very respectful and private! My husband and I loved it and we will def come back!

Unbelieveable! I was planning a nice weekend for my 5 year anniversary and we had made an appt at another spa. They called the day before and cancelled so I was panicked! After finding Magical Massage online, I called and left a vm. Carolyn called back shortly (even though she was in the middle of a yoga retreat) and found another massage therapist to squeeze us in for a couples treatment. It was absolutely incredible. The setting inside the win barrel was so authentic. The place smells amazing! The massages were divine, and so professional. They knew exactly what to do to ease our aches, pains, and stresses. I think we found a place to come back every year on our anniversary!

Update: I did come back once more and again, AMAZING! Best massages I’ve had by far! (I got the Barrel Tasting massage both times.) I’ve gotten massages from ME SPA and a place in Calistoga. None compared to the ones I’ve had here. I need to go back soon!

I had the most amazing massage! I’m a massage whore so that says A LOT! Haha I’ve had massages in a cave, a railroad train, 17^th floor penthouse… even as far as the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, AZ. And I must say this is one of my most fave massages and location that I have been to. I was in Sonoma for a bday spa getaway and happened to find this gem close to where I was staying. It was literally a hop skip away. Carolyn fit me in last minute and I couldn’t be happier! It topped of my Birthday perfectly! The massage was a mixture of swedish, lomi lomi, hot stone, aromatherapy, deep tissue, and even a facial! I loved every minute! One of the best techniques and even better than a massage on the beach of Boracay. Sometimes it’s not about the location. Who knew this small town of Glenn Ellen had a secret, magical spot. I will probably go here JUST for a massage and not just cause I’m in Napa haha THAT’S how amazing they are! Thank you, Carolyn for your magical massage!

2 friends and I had spent a weekend up in Sonoma. While there I suggested we get massages to augment the hot tub we were planning. I spent hours reviewing many places, deals and practitioners before deciding on Magical Massage. I was immediately put in touch with Carolyn who quoted me a fair price for in home massages for the 3 of us and told us she would confirm the following day. I awoke to find she not only confirmed but was able to get 3 masseurs to accommodate our needs. Mind you this all happened late Friday afternoon for a Saturday afternoon massage!
The hour approached when the door bell rang and in walked 2 women and a man replete with massage tables. I booked a 90 minute with Don Mahoney, who proceeded to give me one of the best massages I’ve ever had. And believe me, that’s saying a lot since I’ve been getting massages all over the world since I was a child and I’m 61 years old now! From the questions he asked to his initial laying of hands I was put immediately at ease and felt immediately relief! The rest of the massage was shear bliss! His hands were firm, knowledgeable and therapeutic, his personality friendly and professional. My friends both raved about their hour long massages and were sad they didn’t choose the 90 minute option but none-​the-​less felt completely relaxed.
Needless to say, I was the hero of that weekend, the time we spent with these 3 angels turned our time in Sonoma from good to amazing! If you live in Sonoma or are just visiting, your time up here will be enhanced greatly by the healing hands of these practitioners. And all the above was without any of the amenities this company offers at their massage business. Hopefully next time we’ll make our way over there to enjoy those extras too!

My husband bought a Groupon deal for me for the Barrel Tasting Massage Package which was 90 minutes of massage, hot stones, facial and foot scrub. I can’t remember the name of the woman that did the massage unfortunately. The massage and package was pleasant, and she listened to me when I told her the areas I’m tender and sensitive at. My only small complaints is the area did not feel too private, as the room was closed by curtains and not door. Also, it was FREEZING that day. She said she tried to heat up the room with small space heaters but I was pretty cold the whole time, which made it a little less enjoyable. I was also not given a «take home gift» as advertised as well. I probably won’t be back, only because it was not anything special and the drive is a little far. Could get something like this closer to home.

I booked a massage through groupon for their barrel tasting, and treated myself this morning.
The massage was very attentive and wonderfully done by Willow. She was very good and I felt like I was very well treated.
My only issues were that I had to have the massage in the gift shop/​inspiration gallery instead of the barrel as there was a couple having theirs in that space. They have several folding screens set up to create a little alcove. It does not feel private, and was not as relaxing as I’d hoped. So if you book via groupon, make sure you ask or you’ll be in the gift gallery behind folding screens. A bit weird, but not so weird that I didn’t book another treat with them later. I’ll just make sure, as Willow mentioned, to get into the barrel room next time. It also occurs to me that perhaps that room is just for couples as so many folks here reviewing mention they were twosomes. Sad, as I’m not loaded with cash to not have the full experience given the 99 dollars spent. And I felt a bit exposed even though no one is rolling in and out while you are there.
Also, no take home gift as coupon advertised, which was also a bit of disappointment.
But Willow made it all ok. She was great, and I’d recommend her as she’s got a really nice, pleasant energy. I’ll ask for her again when I manage to get back, and I’ll remember on her advice to ASK for the actual massage room… instead of the gallery space. Yikes.

This was the best massage experience I have ever had. I was looking for a weekend getaway for my bf and I for his bday and came across a deal on Groupon for the barrel tasting package. I am all about reviews so I did some research first and could find nothing but great reviews so I booked us a couples massage.
Just the energy alone when we walked in was indescribable. I felt immediately close to these people. My bf fell asleep during his but I stayed awake and enjoyed every second of mine. I have never had hot stones before and can tell you it is the best feeling ever. I don’t think I will ever do another massage without them. Incredible.
Afterwards, we had a nice conversation and they had some great recommendations on where to go for dinner. We ended up going to The Glen Ellen Inn. Also recommended. The ladies here were just so helpful and all around wonderful people. We will most definitely be coming back to this place in the near future.

I really enjoyed my experience here. Martha and one other lady helped with our massages. It was a surprise for my mother and she really enjoyed it! We had used a Groupon and there was no problem in the process (though I suggest printing it off and having it ready). Pulling it up kind of cut into the spa time since the internet was hard to access inside!).
Otherwise, you enter a large wine barrel where your massages will be. They helped communicate with my mom even though she only spoke Spanish. It was helpful because it put her at ease and definitely was a special accommodation on their part!
They put some pressure and some soothing oils, and you also get a facial in the process. I was really relaxed and this just complemented the day. It was in a very calm neighborhood near Sonoma and was right across the street near Jack London Square (try Yeti Restaurant – delicious!).
Great experience, nice people and awesome products. We got a few things to take home –like their facial scrubs and body souffles. Loved it. Would go back!
