Art’s R.V. Sales & Service

Just read previous reviews and sorry to hear people have had problems. We’ve used Art’s for a number of years and experienced nothing but helpful, timely, accurate service on 3 different campers. I know people are prone to write a negative review but I’m sure there are a number who agree with me.

back in 2008 i was looking for a used truck cap on craigslist, these guys had quite a few listed. the 350 price was in budget so i called. went to look at it and purchased. the salesman said they needed time to take it off the storage rack outside i a can come back tomorrow and they will «throw it on». i come back the next day and waited for about 3 hours, but the salesman did apologize for the wait. they bring it out front and now the bill is 150 bucks higher then the price we agreed on the day before. turns out they actually wired the stupid 3^rd brake light and used weather stripping and cap mount clamps, i even showed the guy the 6 c-​clamps i had to mount it. i was never told about a charge to «throw it on», i didnt want all that crap as it was going to be stored behind my shed when i got back home in 10 minuets, only for use when i needed a cover. so my experience with arts is like it was run a 70s car dealership.

I inquired about a b class conversion van a few years ago the sales agent told me that there were several people interested in it, so I’d better get in there quickly to look at it! I decided not to go with them because of their antiquated sales tactics. 3 months later the conversion van was still listed for sale on Craigslist. Lol like 19 seventies used car salesman! So funny lol

New to RV’ing and brought it here because it was close. I even talked to them before purchasing an RV I had in mind.
Then bought RV, purchased from a private seller, low cost and old. If I didn’t get into this, not much invested then. Then I brought it straight to Art’s. I got a list of issues and told them to start with resealing the roof and windows. Then we can go from there. Literally a month later and still no work done. But the catch is they said they did a couple repairs.
They only work on the RV interior and exterior, no engine work. I called a local RV shop to look at the engine, they picked it up from Art’s. Within a week I had a list of issues and told them to start working on. I went to the mechanic within 2 days and check on the RV. They have it on jack stands and you can see they are working on it.
Then I look at the roof (which ARTs said they resealed) still looked the same as when I bought it a month earlier. I go complain to Dan at ART’s and he said they did «patch work». WRONG! Even the receptionist said she was told by Dan that they did reseal the entire roof. He didn’t charge us the 300 for the initial assesment due to the «mis communication».
Not going back. Would give a half star if I could.

We rented a pop-​up camper and received a walk through on the way out. However, when we returned the camper there was no inventory or review of the camper when we returned. Instead, I was asked if it was Okay and it was. We returned all the items and cleaned it before we returned it. I received a call later that day claiming that a hand-​crank was missing. I called back to say there was no inventory done when I could witness it so I should not be responsible for something they lost because all the items were left inside when I returned the camper. My recommendation is if you go with Art’s, don’t leave the business until they review the rental to complete the return process and don’t allow them to do it later when you aren’t there for their convenience.

We have a truck. We have an RV. We needed to connect the two together. Quickly.
In our quest to find a place that would install a fifth wheel hitch on the bed of our truck, not many places showed up on our radar. We called around, spoke to someone at Art’s RV, was impressed (the person my husband spoke to on the phone was knowledgable, thoroughly answered our questions, and worked with us to find the parts we needed), and decided to trust them with the work. I was honestly quite nervous about it, considering the size of the job and the amount of dollar bills we were dropping on it. We had the hitch and rails, the hardware and actual installation was the work we needed.
We dropped everything off of on Tuesday, explaining that we would need it done by the end of the week. The manager (?) assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. and it wasn’t! We picked it up the next day! The hitch looked great on the truck. We were originally quoted at four hours (at $ 100-​ish an hour), but the job ended up being eight hours because of our older truck had a shifting truck bed. Eek — that could have been a pretty big price tag, but thankfully, we were only charged for five hours’ worth of labor (plus the hardware, and the accessories we picked up). WHEW!
I’m really happy with everything so far. We have yet to hook the RV up to the truck because we are waiting on a few little things to arrive, but I’m sure it will be fine.
So relieved. You have no idea. And so excited to hit the road in our little home!

Since this was nearest to my home, I dropped off my coach early morning here to replace the suspected propane regulator and diagnose the non starting genset. I previously called an made an appointment. When I arrived the shop is a mess. They could not find my appointment info. Ray was unfriendly and seemed agitated. I thought it was that he couldn’t find my appointment but I spoke with him the previous day to setup the appointment. Took my info again, and I repeated the 2 issues above. No call by 4pm so I called. Spoke with Ray, mentioned replaced the regulator and wasn’t able to get to the genset. His genset guy was off today and will be in tomorrow. Ray said that he’d be off tomorrow. So tomorrow comes and no call. On the 3^rd day, I get a return call in the morning and Ray mentions that they replaced the regulator and the genset needs to be sent out, they don’t fix them here. Really? then why would I spend $ 112 (1 hour labor) for them to diagnose? It took them 1 hour to determine «NO COMPRESSION» and Recommendations are to basically outsource to a qualified repair shop? Ray says «I know the Ed (wardo) spent a couple of hours on that» I reluctantly paid the bill. was thinkin’ so maybe I don’t know enough about it. but I wasn’t going to have Art’s RV send it out, I could do that myself. I called Onan Cummins HQ found a local repair shop that specializes in gensets and just 15 miles from home. Gave them a call. Friendly, professional and as helpful as can be. Their labor costs was $ 120 per hour but they can get the job done. Genset was fixed that day and required replacement of a two parts. but they follow up with calls before the work was done. I received an itemized and detailed report on each step of the work performed. They researched the genset serial to find that everything still under warranty. Art’s RV = Waste of my time and my money. Giving 1 star for the plug and play regulator replacement

So far, not so good. Ordered a custom cap for brand new 2013 truck.
It comes in. Have truck washed so new cap will look good. Go there to have it installed.
They bring the truck out; cap is FILTHY (can’t tell if the color matches or not at this point) BUT what is worse, there is now a scratch on my brand new truck from the front of the truckbed to the back.
UNACCEPTABLE. At this point, not sure if even leaving the cap on or have them remove it and order one from a reputable dealer.
