The Wax Effect

I had a Groupon for a waxing appt. somewhere else and they cancelled at the last minute the day before my vacation. A friend recommended The Wax Effect. I called there and Mari was kind enough to squeeze me in that day. She was extremely professional, nice and her technique/​type of wax she used was virtually painless. I would recommend her services to everyone! And I am not going back to that other salon, Groupon or not, Mari has a new client for sure.

Clean, friendly and professional. First experience with hard wax and loved it! Hurt less, she was careful and meticulous! I’m a loyal customer now! Eyebrow and eyelash tinting too!

Very convenient hours and very nice and clean location. Good service and great prices liked that she uses hard wax instead of the strip because it hurts less. I will definitely recommend Marilu to anyone that wants a pain free or less pain wax

This was an unexpectedly great experience! I recently moved to Indy and have been struggling to find a waxing salon that does a great job at a reasonable price. Not only that, but the number of salons is surprisingly small! I was on my way to Chicago for the weekend with a quick stop at a friend’s in Wheaton… And I couldn’t get a waxing appointment in Indy!
I did a little research on Unilocal and called The Wax Effect, being pretty sure that i wouldn’t be able to get an appointment. To my surprise, Marilu made some time for me after her normal Saturday closing time. And to my delight, she did a great job! I have been getting Brazilians since 1997 when I started going to J Sisters in NYC, and I think that this was one of the most thorough and painless waxing jobs I have ever had. It was such a great surprise! My only regret is that I am not local enough to be a regular.

I had almost given up on waxing after some pretty painful past experiences. Until I met Mari. Dramatically less painful! Not only does she do a superb job, she’s very personable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her!

Mari is extremely talented. I, too, had my share of waxing experiences, some good and some disastrous. But this is the perfect stop. Mari is competitively priced but unlike other establishments, you get her full attention – she’s not rushing to get to her next appointment. Mari uses special wax that makes the results very clean and (compared to others) painless. Mari’s my girl, I won’t go anywhere else. Make sure to tip at least 15%.

Marilu did an amazing job! I have just moved from the city and was looking for a new place to get a brazilian wax. I previous had gone to two different places that had disastrous results. I starting losing hope there was someone in the suburbs who could take care of this sensitive area. I found The Wax Effect on the internet and talked to Marilu on the phone. She reassured me and so I decided to book an appointment. As I said before, everything went without a hitch. She was extremely professional and her studio was very clean and tidy. The actually waxing was painless and it looked great! I would recommend this waxing salon to anybody.

Marilou does a great job! She has a small little room where she does strictly waxing/​facials/​spray tans. She is very professional during the services she performs. Her waxes really dont even hurt that much and she has specific techniques to help reduce the pain. I’m so happy I discovered Wax Effect, being a new resident of Glen Ellyn. Extremely professional esthitician with easy availabilty for appointments! I highly recommend giving Marilou a try!
