Residence at the Links

This is probably the WORST complex I have ever lived in. DO NOT move here. Management is careless and property is not maintained. Balconies are covered with mattresses and other junk. I’ve lived there for 6 years and regret not leaving sooner. When we first moved in we gave a name of a person who referred us so they could get the commission. The person never got it because the office failed to write it on their paperwork. When it was brought to their attention a few weeks later, it was «too late» and «there’s nothing we can do». If you do an onsite apartment transfer they tell you one fee amount and hit you with additional fees months later saying they miscalculated and «there’s nothing we can do». Apartment was left in good condition yet we are being charged additional cleaning fees of 150.00. Didn’t live there for 2 months and the bath tub was dusty and it was 60.00 for them to clean it. They provided a carpet cleaning from THEIR company right before we moved out as we thought we were going to stay and are now being charged 60.00 for carpets being dirty! Are you kidding me?! This place is an absolute joke. Other coworkers had warned me about what happens when you leave and how they try to screw you. I should have listened! Stay away! Contacted Lincoln Property Management, who owns the complex and are told «there’s nothing we can do». Hmmm. Funny. I think that should be in their advertisement. Issues arose with other residents and cops were called, somehow when we didn’t even call the police we were to blame for the altercation. The altercation happened due to the fact that management wasn’t handling a situation that had been brought to their attention several times. All we would here is «we will send them a letter». After 6 years they aren’t even willing to work with residence. They’re prices aren’t cheap and they apartments are gross. Garbage is always over flowing and is never picked up off the ground. Hallways of apartments stink and are rarely cleaned. The only thing good about this place is their maintenance staff because they will tell you how much they dislike the property as well. Pretty sad if you ask me. Parking is a nightmare! They claim they tow vehicles after a certain time yet the only time I had ever seen a tow truck go through there was to tow my brand new car because there was no sticker. Even tho their office was closed to get the sticker. But they blamed it on me that I should have taken the sticker off the old vehicle and yet again I hear «there’s nothing we can do». After the altercation with the neighbor and they moved out. My vehicle had been vandalized in the parking lot. We went to the leasing office to find out if they had camera or could recommend us on what to do what do you think we heard?! «There’s nothing we can do!» Siding has been missing off certain buildings and has been for a couple years. All this money you pay and for what? Trash? When we informed management we were leaving they didn’t care to ask why we were unhappy and leaving all they wanted to know was where? What did it matter where? Focus on more of why your tenants want to move! I would never recommend anyone to move here! Ever.

I have been living here for 3 years.
They have two amazing clubhouses with a great gym, yoga/​tv area, jacuzzi, sauna room and a very clean locker room.
The staff/​maintanance are extremely prompt. However, we have had issues in the apartment that needed fixed or updated … Overall a great quiet place to be.

I lived here jab 14-​jan 15. I tried to move out mid year because of a spider problem in my apartment but they would not allow it. They offered me more expensive apartments I could move into but none the same price. I also had a «drunk neighbor» attempt to break in through my patio. My utilities were $ 300+ a month, for a tiny one bedroom. My toilet leaked, there was mold being my washer, and the staff was not very friendly towards me. Overall horrible experience.

We moved here in March and have been very happy with our place. I noticed some comments about the people who don’t pick up after their dogs, I haven’t seen any lying around since we have been here.
Matt at the leasing office is great, he was very helpful in our move as well as getting us acclimated to the area.
I really appreciate the amenities of our unit and the speed of the maintenance staff even though we haven’t need to call them for much in the first place.
I would definitely recommend this place!

Do not move here. The people are inconsiderate and the management office is shit. Potholes in the parking lot have not been fixed since I moved in a year and a half ago. Residents park in the visitor parking so there are never any spots if you want to have people over. My car was towed the first week I moved in because the leasing office did not give me a parking sticker and never mentioned that I needed one. They did reimburse me in full but it was a huge hassle to drive all the way to Melrose Park to get my car. Maintenance staff leaves the doors open or unlocked when they come and fix things. They now have to DNA test your dog because people are so disgusting and don’t pick up after their dogs when they shit outside. The place is affordable and in a good location for me, but this is definitely one of those instances where you get what you pay for. I will not be resigning my lease and I cannot wait until it is up so I can move

I lived here from November 2013 –November 2014. I never had an issue with neighbors or maintenance. Everytime I had an issue maintenance came rather quickly.
I loved that there’s two gyms and a pool! The gym is really huge and has a full weight lifting bar.
I lived in a Wood 1 bedroom not upgraded. If you move into a non upgraded apt I will warn you that the appliances are older. They are the beige and black ones with a dial clock. When I moved in I thought that non upgraded meant just white appliances. They are old!
Other than that the price was really good and management very friendly. I would still be living there if I hadn’t changed jobs out in Glenview. I was tired of the 1 hr 10 – 15 minute commute home and that was on a good day!

Leased two years ago was sold by beautiful community and teresa (who no longer works there) because she was bubbly and would go over and beyond to help us. Other than the dirty carpet that i was told was brand new when i leased then found out a year later it was seven years old and chipped floor in kitchen and bathroom lived happy here for a year and a half it all changed the last six months when staff began to change. Not a fan of Tanya (the manager) and Matt at the office they brush you off and are rude. I wish management was diffrent and it was not over priced. I am now at a town house down the street in blomingdale for the same price and plenty more room.

This place is just terrible. Over priced apartment for what you get. They make it look nice but it’s all smoke and mirrors. Everything behind the looks is awful. Maintenance has been to my apartment 25 times in 6 months. The utilities are outrageous. Office people are nice until you move in and then they don’t give a sh! t about you. Do not move here!!! You will regret it. People moving out every month that is why there is always openings. Don’t waste your time here. Other places much better.

Pros:
Great staff
extremely quick and good when it comes to maintenance requests.
Most of the time I go into the office they’re happy to see me and friendly.
Pool is nice
gym is decent shape
people around me are friendly but also leave you alone if you want
Shovel and mow quickly
answer request fast
places are pretty nice
Very dog friendly
I’ve never had any problems with parking or guest parking
Cons:
Windows are a little drafty
you can hear people if they’re loud how ever depends on where you live but for the most part it’s never that bad. I have 2 kids and one was recently born and we’ve never been waken by any outside noise so it’s not that bad
Sometimes they don’t seem to friendly when you have to get a package at the office.
We were told we would get a certain stove that looked nice if we pay an upgrade fee. We paid the upgrade fee but got a different one then what was shown. The one we got is nicer than the non upgrade one but not as nice as the one we were shown we would get.
Very poor paint used in our place by the people before or the apt complex. If you put any amount of pressure on the paint it smears the paint and leaves a mark on the wall. Not sure if it was painted by the staff or renters before.
Overall: My wife and I pretty happy with this apartment and plan on staying another year if it continues this direction.

Lived here when it was Fordham Glen and when it switched to Residence. Neither experience was good. Apartments are drafty and windows leak air. There is dog crap all over the grounds. They have updated the apartments from what I have seen, but I was paying $ 1,400 a month for an old out-​dated apartment. All of the changes they made are only cosmetic to make it appear that it is a nice place. Had my car broken into twice. Move here if you like, but it is not what it appears.
