Americans’ Shuttle 4 Less

I used this company twice before. The first time he was late, but called saying he would be late. Second time he was early. This time, I got left strand with no phone call. I tried to call to find out what happened and no answer. I left a voicemail, but I never got a phone call to apologize our anything either. So I called a taxi to pick me up. I almost missed my flight, I had to run to my gate to make my flight. Now I can’t trust them and will be needing to find a different way to get to the airports.

Unfortunately the last time I booked with this company the van never came… I did receive an apology but it was a serious inconvenience on the morning of my flight.

Simply the best there is. Punctual (within 5 minutes or so either way sometimes), professional, friendly, personable. The service is personal — the times we’ve used them it’s been only us in the van… no cattle car-​style service while we pick up 5 other people on the way! And unlike some of the larger companies, we’ve never had a no-​show or excessively late pick-​up. The owner, Edmond, is terrific… he is now our go-​to shuttle service!

I was looking for an alternative to the dreadful not-​so-​super shuttle. These guys seemed to have some decent reviews so made reservation. Guy shows up on time, courteous, friendly, didn’t make a hundred stops, all is well. then we get to the airport and he tells me they can’t do the return leg and that I’d be pawned off to not-​so-​super-​shuttle who I was trying to avoid in the first place !
If you couldn’t do the return leg then why accept the reservation and why wait until the last second when I had no choice to tell me ?
All in all, this added the best part of 2 hours to my return travel which was already at 24hours by the time I got my bags at LAX.
If you make a reservation with them be sure to check if they can actually provide the service and won’t pawn you off. Good luck getting a human being on the phone though, I got one once out of about 7 or 8 calls.

It pains me to write this review but Edmond really dropped the ball with me and ended up costing me over $ 200. Two weeks ago I had called him to set up a shuttle to take me to John Wayne Airport. He was scheduled to pick me up at 4:45a the following day. I was up and ready to go as planned… and waited. Then 5:00 came… no shuttle…5:15 still no shuttle. I tried to call him to find out what was going on and he did not pick up AND his mailbox was full. By 5:30 I was in a panic and worried that I was going to miss my flight. I kept trying to call him but he would not answer. Long story short, I had to drive myself to John Wayne, which, by the way, has no long term parking on site. I was slapped with a $ 220 bill for parking at the end of my trip and never even got a call from Edmond telling me what happened. What upsets me so much about this is that he is not some flaky employee… he is the OWNER! I’m sorry but his inconsistency is unacceptable. Edmond, if you want to make good with me you can contact me on Unilocal and I’ll be happy to provide my address for the check to reimburse me for parking. Until then, I will not be recommending you again.

I was PCSing from Hawai’i to San Antonio, shipped my car to LA and was driving from LA to TX with my 3 dogs (basset hounds). I started calling companies 2 months out to find someone to take us from LAX to Ranchos Dominguez to pick up my car.
This was the ONLY company that was even willing to work with me after I told them I was going to have 3 dogs in tow. The person I spoke to said I would need to reserve an entire van for myself, the dogs would have to remain in their crates, and quoted me $ 98.00. Renting a van from a car rental place was well over $ 160 and, I would still have to figure out how to get the car & return it.
I called two days before my flight to confirm, and they still had my reservation.
They got to the airport before I was out, it took awhile for me to get off the plane, get my bags (6 bags & 3 dogs) and get curbside. Edmund called to see where I was, but waited.

He loaded all my stuff and the girls into the van, stopped at Starbucks for me because I was in desperate need of coffee after an overnight flight, unloaded all the bags himself, and helped me unload the dogs.
I was charged the quoted price of $ 98. A REAL bargain considering my dogs & bags took up an entire van!
All of that would have warranted the 5 star rating, but a few hours later he called me to make sure that everything went well with my car & that I got on my way!

I was looking for alternative for supershuttle, since I will be around Glendale for pickup, checked their website and it quoted 19 dollars to LAX

Decided to give them a call about 2 days before trip and scheduled for pickup.
The guy answering the phone quoted me for 34 dollars … Asked them about the price on their website ?, he mentioned it was wrong!. «Hmm okay». So I thought I’m gonna booked anyway since 34 dollars still a reasonable fee. He told me to make a call again the day before my pickup to confirm. one day before my trip I called them again to confirm schedule. The guy answering the phone was the exact same guy I spoke the day before. I asked him for confirmation just like asked before… But what worries me is, he didn’t have a clue about my reservation i made before, he even re quote me for 39 dollars … I told him I’m just gonna go somewhere else…
I ended up using supershuttle it cost me 36 dollars and it did pick me up right on time… Next time I’ll keep in mind, saving something that might be cheaper not always be a cheaper and for some case not always be reliable…

Before my recent trip to Costa Rica, I have never taken a shuttle service from the airport so I was skeptical at first regarding all shuttle services. Reading all of the good reviews for this service, I decided to book a return back to the Long Beach area on my return flight back to the US. I’m so glad I booked this service.
First off, my flight was to return around 12:15am (yes, that’s past midnight). I didn’t realize that the hours were only until around 10pm each day. So when we arrived at the airport, we had to go through customs which took about an hour. Once we got all of our baggage at the baggage claim, it was around 1:15am in the morning, so my first thought was «Damn, no way a shuttle service is gonna wait for an hour, especially this late.»
As we exited the building, I called the service and guess what. The owner picks up the phone and tells us he is still at the airport and will pick us up in 5 minutes. I was so relieved, yet so tired from the 6 hour trip. Next thing I knew, he shows up with his van and away we go.
The ride back home was very convenient and despite how late it was, the owner made us feel comfortable and was very easy to talk to. And once we got home, it was 2am and I was ready sleep for the rest of the day.
So if you decide on a shuttle service to or from the airport, I would definitely go with this one. And yes, I would take it again.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. My credit card was charged TWICE, and after spending nearly 4 months very politely requesting my $ 100 over charge returned to me, I have had lame excuses, delays, and still had no refund. They don’t even bother to respond to my calls or emails now so have left me with no choice but to tell everyone here on Unilocal to embarrass them into doing the right thing.
They have stolen $ 100 from me and simply don’t seem to plan to give it back. I gave Edmond (the business owner) two weeks notice that I would post this unless he refunded me, but he didnt even respond then. I guess he thinks he can just get away with it and it wont impact his business. Let him know that stealing client’s money doesnt pay off, buy giving your business elsewhere and warning your friends of this dodgy business. Yes, he DID seem nice, but it seems that this changed when he had my money and didnt want to give it back. No stars. No more business. No more $ 100 thats owed to me sadly.

6÷19÷12 UPDATE — I have still not received a refund or a reply, and I will continue to comment until I do. As stated, I WILL remove my review upon receipt of the overcharged amount.

Great service owner driver was very friendly professional and punctual. Picked us up at LAX Right after we got off the plane and brought us to Anaheim for $ 22 per person.

Set up a reservation the night before, called them when I got out of baggage and went straight home. Great price.

Edmond, the business owner is truly a stand up guy. My mother and I were the only passengers on one of his pick-​ups, so I had the opportunity to interact with him first hand. He was right on time, friendly, helpful and considerate. He didn’t hesitate to help with our heavy luggage and also assisted my elderly mom out of the van. Personable, great prices, great service — an excellent alternative to the big name shuttles. Also, I initially booked the wrong time by accident and he corrected it as soon as I called in without any problem. I was often met with the answering machine though, but he was always prompt with returning my call whenever I had questions. Definitely recommend his services and will be my first choice whenever I need a shuttle in the area!

This review is regarding an experience with this company in Dec 2011.
I was going to be traveling with my somewhat older Mother during the holiday season, and I was looking for an alternative to those other big companies (you know who they are), since I have had unpleasant experiences with them.
This company has both great and not such good reviews. I was worried about choosing them because of this, but it seemed to be the best option. After my experience, I truly can’t understand the negative reviews.
I come from a «leave for the airport REALLY early» family. When making the booking, I explained that and chose an early time for pick-​up and it was no problem. I called back the night before our trip to confirm, got a real person after hours, and was assured the reservation was good to go.
Edward the owner picked us up. What a lovely gentleman! He was right on time, was respectful and gentle with our bags as he helped us with them, and the van was quite nice. It was just us, so it was like a private car. And Edward makes great conversation during the trip:-)
The real test for me was the return trip. We were coming back at around 10:00 pm on the 31^st of December — New Year’s Eve. I had been worried about that return time since the vacation had been booked, and I sure wasn’t going to trust it to one of the larger companies. Not when traveling with my Mom. Can you imagine how many times we would have circled the airport for fares? Ugh! Again, I called the day before to confirm, but probably didn’t need to. Edward answered, remembered the pick-​up time off the top of his head, and assured me he would be there.
We landed pretty early, and called in after getting our luggage. He was *very* apologetic because he was going to be about 10 minutes to pick-​up, which was still *earlier* than when we were supposed to be landing! Who cares if we had to wait a minute when we were early? He was there! And I could relax:-) He had one other passenger in the car, he picked us up, and we went directly on our way– NO circling!
I get nervous about getting to the airport. I can’t help it, it’s in my DNA. So when I say I trust this company and will use it exclusively from now on, it kinda means something, even if I do say so myself:-)
Friendly, GREAT customer service, reliable, reasonable rates, and nice vans.

I was looking for an alternative to SuperShuttle and Primetime and made a reservation based on the good reviews here. I received email confirmation and assumed things were all set, but when I called them after I landed, the guy who answered said he was overbooked and overextended and told me to go to SuperShuttle. He was apologetic, but … it would have been professional to have gotten a call or an email canceling my reservation before I was standing on the curb with my luggage on New Year’s Eve after traveling for eight hours. Ended up just coughing up the money for a taxi. Too bad because I would have loved to find an alternative to the other shuttle companies!

I booked shuttle 4 less through an online shuttle search engine to LAX. They confirmed with me via email that my reservation was correct and I was all set to go for my 6:00am pickup. The time came and went — I even waited until 15 minutes after the time — and they never came. I called both their day-​of hotline and their inquiries number and left messages and still to this day have not heard from them. Needless to say, they will not receive my business again.

They left me stranded at airport. Did not call me– I had to call them. When I did they implied it was my fault, that they could not «linger» around. When I pointed out that my flight was early, they finally ‘fessed up that they were blowing off my PAID fare because they are a small company, only three vans, and were overbooked. They told me to go to the super shuttle line, which I did, and it cost less.
Promised a refund. When I called back to get it, I was told to call another service to arrange for refund. Why am I going to all this work?
Bottom line: want to get home? Don’t bother with these guys.

Americans’ shuttle 4 less has always come through for me. Changed my flight arrivals two times within a day of my flight, I’ve given them a call 2 hours before my flight’s landing and ED (owner) has come through. This is a company that cares about my needs as a traveler, and understands what differentiates him from all the other options out. there.

I travel for work roughly every other week and shuttle 4 less has been no less than a blessing for me. No longer am I concerned about the safety of my car in airport parking, the outrages parking costs, or with finding a shuttle from the airport to my car. I was always hesitant to use a shuttle service from my house after my experiences with supershuttle and the other big boys. However shuttle 4 less has always come through for me. Changed flights, delayed flights, change of airports, doesn’t matter! I’ve given them a call 2 hours before a return flight’s landing and ED (owner) has come through. Here is a company that understands my needs, and doesn’t give me any grief for it. Furthermore all but one of my rides has been solo, meaning I didn’t have to wait for others to be dropped off, I didn’t have to feel cramped or rushed.
Normally I’d be hesitant about writing such a great review because I don’t want them to get too busy and not be able to fit my needs, but a company like this deserves my praise! Take one chance like I did with them and you will use no one else again!

Superior service! I called at 12:40am to ask a question, and someone picked up. So surprised it wasn’t a machine. I booked my ride online for ~12pm the same day and when I arrived, the driver called to tell me where to meet him. Most of these companies never take the initiative like that. I’m so surprised I wasn’t hassled. I wasn’t rushed either. The driver was very easy going.
Oh by the way, the reason there are so few Unilocal reviews is because this company recently registered on Unilocal
