Our Approach

At Axia Learning we engage students’ interest in academics through empowering their learning abilities and skills, so they can excel academically.

Engage Interest

When students’ interests are engaged they are more likely to put in a greater effort into learning tasks than when they are not interested (i.e. doing class work & homework, studying, etc.).

Our first step is to uncover and understand if and why a child has lost interest in academics.

Empower Learning Abilities & Skills

To empower a student’s learning ability means to understand how that student learns best. All children have individual variation in the factors that affect their ability to learn.

During our assessment, we come to understand students’ learning strengths and weaknesses both academically as well as behaviorally.

Excel Academically

When a student’s interest is engaged and s/​he feels empowered to learn and put forth the effort required, s/​he will excel academically.

Shakeh H.

Manager

Shakeh Haroutiounian, M.A. Ed. is a California credentialed teacher with a Master’s Degree in Education specializing in Curriculum & Instruction. Ms. Haroutiounian also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish Literature from UCLA. Ms. Haroutiounian has over ten years of experience in education, including teaching in two public schools, as well as, founding and operating Tutoring Scholars, Inc., a company that has now successfully transitioned into Axia Learning, Inc.

Therefore, our role as parents and teachers is to work as a team to provide them with the best learning opportunities so they reach their full potential. Unfortunately, people become discouraged for myriad reasons or experiences and lose sight of this need to learn. My passion is to help parents and students enhance or reconnect with this natural desire and ability to learn.»
