Bark & Purr Pet Grooming

Horrible!!! Not only did they cut my dog but they discolored his coat. Not only did they do a horrible job but they endangered the well being of my animal. I WILL NEVER TAKE HIM BACK THERE!!!

They did a very nice job grooming our 2 boxers and didn’t take long at all. When we picked them up they were happy and looked great! Their nails were clipped nicely and not bleeding and their coats are very soft, will come back again. Thanks!

1. I asked for a teddy bear face and a tiny trim on my maltese. They did whatever cut they wanted. They shaved her down completely. It looked awful and not at all like I asked.
2. They were not very friendly at all. I wasn’t aware of lengths, when I asked questions, they seemed very annoyed
3. The groomer was yelling at the dog that she was grooming and being very aggressive with it, which made me uncomfortable leaving my dog there
4. This place is dirty and doesn’t look like they clean, ever. Someone needs to take a broom, a mop and some lysol to this place.
With that being said, I don’t trust the tools they use either.

I have been going there since Mrs Richardson opened it up, she originally owned one in a different location that I was a customer of since 1997. Then she sold it and everything was okay with one groomer in her new location but she left and its been trouble ever since. I had to change the way I liked my girl done because she was never even, always chopped, so I let them shave her close with clean face and feet. Finally the trip before last, I went to pick her up and she had a face shaped like a little bear, so I walked back in and got her face trimmed before I left, this last time I walked back in because her tail looked like a dust mop. The young man picked her up and said I don’t know if she has time to trim it up. WHAT !!! I just paid for this service and its not right. He took her to the back room and I asked Ms. Richardson if I had to take just any groomer or can I choose now. Well I certainly upset the groomer in the back because she told me I was nothing but a complainer and that Josie bit her… Long story short, I never noticed her face because her tail was so stupid looking and as I was driving home I noticed white stuff mixed with blood on her ear as she sat next to me. The groomer had took a chunk out of her right ear, put quick stop on it and never bothered to tell me anything about it. That chunk will not grow back and she had beautiful ears. I will never go back there again.

Moved to AZ a few weeks ago, and needed to find a groomer for my kitties nails. Did some research and found Bark & Purr which is very close to me. Best find in AZ for me so far. This little out of the way shop is so friendly to both the pets and their owners. The groomer, sorry for got her name, really knows her stuff when it comes to kitties. I highly recommend Bark and Purr to anyone looking for a great experience for their pet.

I had a few problems with this shop and have stopped using them. My two dogs are my only family and they are the lights of my life. When super friendly and «have never met a stranger» Samantha balked about walking into the shop I knew something wasn’t right. When I took her to the vet 2 days after grooming and her anal glands were full and the vet tech questioned why Sam’s nails hadn’t been trimmed recently, I knew it was time to move on. So sorry if I mislead anyone into using them.

Welllll… Looks like we will not be using this groomer again. Started off strong the first visit and has been nothing but problems ever since…
When we took our Abby girl here about 10 months ago her ear got snipped during her groom… Thankfully the owner took Abby to the vet and proper precautions were taken to make sure she was seen and that she had antibiotics. But it was definitely not a pretty site to see our dog all bandaged up and have to worry about her ear and infection for days following. It was also a little upsetting for us that we had also had our boxer bathed and nails clipped this same visit and we were still expected to pay the measly $ 25… But whatever… We figured mistakes happen and they have a business to run.
We decided to give them another chance because we could tell they felt awful and honestly, they’re one of the cheaper groomers around… But we now realize it has come with added cost of frustration and pain for our Abby girl unfortunately. Today was the day we gave them another shot. I picked Abby up and brought her home after work… next thing I know there is blood all over our tile… Her nails are cut so short that she started bleeding everywhere. Now we are having to bandage our poor dogs foot up.
Find somewhere else to go. I know I will be.

I will start off by saying that I moved to Phoenix last ear and tries out at least 10 groomers in a years time, with awful experiences. After a random drive by, I have Bark & Pur a chance. I was so happy with the haircut that my pup received! She looked adorable, and the staff was so kind. They sent her off with one of the best cuts she’s had in a long time, and whatever shampoo they use, smells AMAZING!!! I was clearly not disappointed and I continue to take Princess there every 6 weeks since then. They always work with my schedule, time, grooming desires and questions/​concerns. What a great team, hidden inside the shopping center!

We love this place! The groomers and owner are fantastic. We brought our two medium/​large sized dogs in last minute on a Sunday after Petsmart was simply too busy. Our Black and Tan Coonhound and German Shepard both needed a bath, brush and nail trimming badly! I called and they told us to head right on over! Overall it was such a better experience than Petsmart. The dogs there looked comfortable and happy, and our dogs didn’t have the anxiety they normally do when we take them to Petsmart. We picked up our pups a couple hours later and they have NEVER looked better! Their fur was so soft and they came out looking happy as ever. They even got a bow and bandana which were equally as adorable. I felt that the pricing was absolutely fair for the great quality we received. Their nails were all trimmed evenly. Every time we take them to Petsmart, their nails are trimmed so unevenly and their coats look ok. Our dogs smelt AMAZING when we picked them up! Not the typical wet dog smell we were used to. These ladies are amazing and truly care about your pets. We will definitely be returning customers!

These ladies are just simply amazing. They take walk ins for a lot of services. I walked in with 2 dogs to get their nails clipped and they were done within 5 minutes. $ 6 each. Everyone was super friendly and personable. I am not going anywhere else from now on!

I’m so glad I found this place. I have a mini schnauzer and he requires a monthly grooming but it’s difficult to find a groomer near me open on Sundays. I called yesterday (Sunday) and they were able to get him in of a grooming and nail clipping. I told the groomer what kind of style I wanted for my pup & When I picked him up I could tell he was so excited he finally got a awesome haircut. The staff was friendly and the prices very affordable. I will definitely return.

RUN!!! Pooooooor EXTREMELY POOR service what ever you do don’t bother bringing your pet here the owner doubled the price all of the sudden when I question why she told me to come get my dog and hung up in my face shity customer service and jerks! There are Plenty of other places to go to Don’t pick this awful place… and to the owner screw you!!!

We moved here several months ago and if you have ever done that then you know how much work it is to find groomers, vets, and sitters you can trust. I took my Shih tzu here based on good Unilocal reviews and I was not disappointed! They did such a good job on him; nearly a week later he is still soft as a cotton ball. The price is better than you can get at Petco or PetSmart. Best of all, the shop is just down the road from us. I feel much better leaving my baby here although it was five hours from drop off to pick up. To be fair, it was just before Christmas and they were extremely busy. However, we’ll be back.

We have been going here for years. Grooming is cheaper. Staff are nice and animals always come home looking and feeling fresh. I get my small maltese groomed here for about $ 10 less than other places. The only negative is they are always changing their business hours so always call ahead. Currently, they open at 8AM Wed-​Sun and closed Sun-​Tues.

Love this groomer. My 3 Chihuahua’s are a handful in the car going there but they behave when we are there. My dogs know they are in the hands of animal loving people who care about the animal they are working on. So a big five starts from Tony, Angel and Gidget

Excellent, the people are wonderful, helpful, so easy to work with, and really took care of my cat. I didn’t realize they were out in Glendale, but so worth the drive! Will be going again.

I love Bark & Purr! The only groomer that takes the time to get my little Chihuahua sparkling clean! Seriously, they scrubbed that dirty little girl from dingy brown to the white that she is supposed to be. :) For half the price of a chain pet store that I used to take her to, they do a full service groom which includes her teeth (which the chain store wanted extra for). She came home with an adorable little bandana, and smelled so nice. I would way rather support a local groomer any day, so from now on– Bark and Purr it is!

I stopped going to Bark and Purr because I moved to Tempe about a year ago. After trying several groomers in my area and not being satisfied, I decided to take the road trip over to Bark and Purr and I was not disappointed! I have an extremely hairy german shepard, and this time of year his shedding is out of control. He came home weighing 10 pounds less than when I dropped him off! He was happy and taken great care of. He also has epilepsy, therefore I am ultra nervous about leaving him with someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing. But I am never worried about leaving him here. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and Andre loves to see them. Trust is extremely important to me when you’re talking about my animals, they are my children. And I have that 100% here. Because of that I will continue to do the 25 mile drive from now on. Even though I will be spending more on gas, I’m saving on the grooming price. They are extremely affordable!

I do not even know where to BEGIN.
First. I did review this place months back after taking my little dog here for a bath and nail trim. it was $ 17. (She is 6lbs) All was well. A couple months later I brought my other little dog in for a hair cut. (Shaved all down. He is 6 lbs) it was $ 17. Last weekend I took BOTH little dogs in… It almost $ 60. Something didn’t add up. I simply stated it seemed higher then the previous times. She said she did not have a record for my 2^nd little dog. Weird? Well I do. I have the bank statement of $ 17 and a picture I took of him same day leaving their place. The groomer called me later that day and said it bothered her I thought it was more expensive last time and that she would «check her records…» And call me back because that «isnt a way to run a business.» Weird? You told me you didn’t have a record for my dog? So. I checked MY banks statements from October (last time he got a cut) $ 17. I called her back to let her know. I don’t want the $ 22 back. I just wanted her to know. She said «I’m sorry! What is your phone number and name again so I can check my records at home for October. I will call you tomorrow!» Weird? A week later. Still haven’t heard from them.
SECOND… The last after my 6 lb dog left there. Every time you would touch her back she would Unilocal out of pain. 2 trips to the vet later. She is now on two antibiotic /​steroids for a SKIN INFECTION. Her entire back skin under her fur is basically peeling. It is awful. My vet said this is the second complaint on this groomer.
I am not happy and will NEVER take my dogs back here.

I love this groomer, they’re affordable, always caring, always do great job, and love the Sunday hours, they are also quick
