This was my favorite neighborhood coin laundry but I have come across some challenges with new management in place. I had a problem with 2 small machines, they did not appear to fill to the appropriate amount of water; leaving my clothes very dry even when moving around inside the machines for a bit. This caused some concern on my part, ultimately, patrons want to get in and out of the coin laundry with no complications in between, kind of the point of automated machines. I asked the person who worked at the coin laundry(only official person working there and exchanging dialogue with customers) if something was wrong with the machine. The gentleman had a condescending reaction and told me, «it is what it is» and proceeded to move on. I then asked him if I could have a refund to use another machine. This is also the point where I stated my problem, «I’m not satisfied with this machine, something might be wrong with it, may I move on to another machine.» The attendant, passively called the owner and passed his phone over to me. I stated my same concern to the owner, «I’m not satisfied with this machine, something might be wrong with it, may I move on to another machine. The machine water level appears to be low, I don’t think my clothes are going to be washed properly.» The owner was very rude on the phone, did not acknowledge my time or stated concerns. He said, «how about we wait until your load is finished, if you’re not happy then I’ll come over and give you a refund.» Again, this is already after I mentioned my «Dry» clothes are just shifting around the machine — I’m already not satisfied or happy. I asked for a refund again. The owner said, wait for the machine to be finished and if you’re not happy I will give you a refund. After telling him that my clothes were still dry, he insisted I still wait 40 mins for my clothes to not be properly washed. And, how can someone tell if their clothes are cleaned properly if they aren’t dried yet? If you scroll down, you can see that other customers had a similar experience with the owner, he was very rude on the phone and unwillingly to hear his customers out. I then stopped the conversation because I felt that it was a lost cause. I then text the help number posted at the coin laundry, «thank you for your help, I will not use this laundry service again, and I will report my experience on Unilocal.» The owner then came over and changed his tone to the complete opposite of what I experienced on the phone, he was friendly and kind in person. He placed our clothes in another machine, though, we still had to use our own soap and wait another hour, he at least paid for it. We did not get an apology for his inappropriate tone on the phone or for his attendant that was also incredibly rude. *This is an updated review by the way. Later that night, about midnight to be more specific, I received a text message from the owner asking me to correct my original Unilocal review. I thought nothing of this and went back to sleep. The next day I received multiple text messages asking me to change my review because he fixed the laundry problem. I then receive a phone call from the guy and I answered because at this point the messages were getting borderline inappropriate. I told the gentlemen, you were rude on the phone and your attendant was rude in person. Yes, you fixed the problem, but that doesn’t fix the way you treated me as your customer. I will add to the review(this being what I’m doing now), that you came over and fixed the problem, you were very nice in person, but you never acknowledged how I was treated on the phone. That being said, this was an agreement we reached at the end of our phone conversation. I then go back to work, thinking that I’ll correct the review when I have some free time. 2 hours later, while I’m still at work, I receive more text messages and phone calls suggesting that I never changed my review. I then stated, «this is not about winning or losing. We came to an agreement and I thought we left it at that. Please do not contact this number again.“He then followed up by saying, «I had a technician come in to look at the machines, he said they are fine and you’re wrong.» I don’t think he gets my point. I ended up blocking this guys number because he kept sending me messages and calling my phone. I’ll add another star to the review because he did fix the problem, but his customer service is bringing his rating down. I am not the only person who felt this, please look at the reviews below. I think the owner can turn things around just by better treating his customers like decent human beings. This coin laundry is decent. Most of the time it’s clean and things are running. It’s too bad that the owner didn’t just say, «no problem, let’s put your clothes in another machine and I’ll have a technician look at those later.» This is the difference between 2 and 5 stars.

The owner is terribly rude and yelled at me over the phone when the washing machine wouldn’t work and I requested a refund.

Ok so it is not our first time doing laundry here. It had been a good place to do laundry because the cleaning guy is so nice BUT today we found out that THEOWNERISSOOOOORUDE!!! The story is one of the machine doesn’t work after we put in 3 coins(I have to put 3 coins at once because they put on a sign that 3 quarters only for 30 mins.). So after we found out that it did not work so we called the owner. He said I don’t know what to tell you but it works just put one more coin. Then he hang up. I called him again asking him to come here he said will you pay me $ 20 for the gas? Really?! What kind of owner is that?!! But that’s not all! I also have to pay him more if the machine works! Is this an elementary school play!!! I just cannot believe that! So I told him you know what I will just ask the money back from the cleaning guy. Then he said he works for me so he will not give the money back for you, why should I? Seriously?! how should I? It’s because you are the owner and you should act like one! In short, machine works badly plus a big rude irresponsible owner. What a horrible combination for a business. Don’t come! You better spend money and time elsewhere.

Hate doing laundry but this laundry mat is clean, safe and has restaurants next door if you want to eat while waiting. They got 2 coin changers so thats helpful. Has a restroom for a quarter entrance fee.

I walked in to get some quarters so I could come back later that day to do laundry(I was waiting for my pizza at Verdugo Pizza next door) and the owner yelled at me! I told him I was coming back but he didn’t seem to care. So screw that guy he’ll never get my business again.

i don’t know about anyone else, but I’m never excited to do laundry… but my local laundry spot helps me out so much. all i have to do is walk across the street from my apartment lugging 2 months worth of laundry, and you know I’m serious about saving those quarters. regular washer: $ 1.25 2 load washer: $ 2.75 3 load washer: $ 3.50 everything-you-got washer: $ 4.25 i stick with the latter. there’s only two in the(w)hole place; but i manage to fit everything i got in the everything-you-got washers for a whole 17 quarters each. always pour a grip of laundry detergent in, or your clothes will come out smelling the same as when they were put in. not all dryers are made equal! i always use the old looking ones on the right wall. deceiving much? yea, first time i was here i popped all my clothes in the the newer looking models; i ended up wasting more money and more time for them to dry. thank gawd for the mexican lady(that prolly thought i was mexican too) giving me the tip about the dryers. $ 0.50 per and your clothes are nice and toasty fresh. if you go on a weekend, expect to wait for the right washers and dryers. i have, and it sucks. at least there’s a tv and some benches for you to chill on so your not staring blankly at the eggshell colored wall. try going at odd hours… 6am on a tuesday, 8pm on a thursday, etc. their open from 5am to 11pm, long hours for all your laundry doin needs. they’ve rotated owners a couple of times… but i think the guy that running in now live in my building and works at the ralphs down the street. so weird. the place is really clean-ish tho.
