Not the best hotel — verging on a dive — but not the worst either. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the location is great. Also for L.A. Can’t go wrong with the price.
Complaints. Terrible in room TV service, can be noisy as the walls are thin and there is an off smell in the hallways.
If you’re looking for a bed in LA without breaking the bank and you don’t care too much about luxury, this place will work for you

Absolutely worst place I have ever booked. Not up to code. Not clean. Very old and musty. Scary guest in several rooms. Awful experience.

All I can say is that I had an awesome customer service experience with Pauline who works for the Front Desk. She was very friendly and helpful over the phone. Priceline a.k.a. Agoda messed up my reservation. Pauline & another front desk person were very patient with me. They both made sure that I had a room for that weekend. They also upgraded my room even though Priceline/​Agoda caused all that inconvenience. We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was a great location, right off the Freeway. Close to Universal Studios. Close to Porto’s. Our room was clean. For the price we paid, it wasn’t bad at all. Beds were comfy. My family had breakfast at the little restaurant downstairs. The manager was really friendly, food was good & service was prompt. Overall my family & I were satisfied.

manager is horable rooms are filthy and i think there are prostitutes and drug dealers working from this hotel but the manager is the worst

A friend was coming in from out of town and needed a place to crash, I actually used hotels dot com to book since she was having trouble finding a low rate in the area. I used my credit to get her a room and the daily rate was about $ 100, paid half the price with my account, since it was Glendale I thought it was fine, but I wouldn’t pay full price at all.
I say not worth the full price because the room I got on the first tower and located on the 2^nd floor was outdated, tube television, the curtains look like they have not been changed in a while, and the air conditioning is the wall mount kind, old building.
But it did have a refrigerator and microwave in case your there for a week and on business or pleasure.
Parking is free but make sure you mention your car or else it may get towed away.
From my understanding the bed was comfortable and all was clean as per my friend after I saw her yesterday. So it all worked out. I might consider actually staying here for myself one day.

As soon as I got into my bed in room 421 4^th floor I started coughing and today my body has been itching. I checked for bed bugs before I got into bed and didn’t find any. No clue why I’m itching. The couch is disgusting and I couldn’t even put my purse on it. Wow this place sucks. I got two nights and I’m not gonna stay a second night.

This is my first hotel review. My family and I are still trying to figure out the categories we want to encompass in our review. Overall we were pretty happy with our impromptu stay at the Days Inn located in Glendale, CA.
LOCATION: The location was prime– right off the 134 Fwy, and very close to the I-​5 interchange (less than 2 minutes). Streetwise– we were VERY close to our beloved PORTOs Pastry (a MUST TRY for everyone!!!), the Grove shopping place and to the Glendale Galleria. We were in the area to visit Universal Studios and Hollywood. Universal was about 15 – 20 min away, the same for Hollywood, the Greek Theater and the Observatory.
ROOM/​ACCOMMODATIONS: We had a reservation for a room with 2 double beds– room #312. We would describe our accommodations as no frills, but clean. Our room had a balcony and faced the back of the hotel. We could see the parking lot and we were right over the pool. There was an air conditioning unit, a microwave, a refrigerator with very small freezer section, a table with 2 chairs, a TV with cable (we watched some Encore channels), a safe (for valuables) and a «closet area» (no doors to constitute a closet, but there were hangers and a place to hang your clothes and jackets). The beds were comfy and clean.
BATHROOM: The bathroom was clean but very outdated. Towels were clean and they brought up more at our request. The shower head pressure was acceptable and it even had a massage head. Our biggest complaint is about the shower drain– it clogged and took forever for the water to go down. For this alone– I would have to really downgrade our number of stars and our overall review. Had to rinse our feet out before getting out– it was pretty gross.
HOSPITALITY: Check in time is 2pm, checkout time is NOON. We arrived here at around 1pm– the front desk clerk was able to check us in early at no extra charge. They warned us that checkout time is NOON, and staying any time after that would incur a $ 28 charge for going over the check out time. We checked out at 1130am– so I don’t know if this actually happens. The clerks were «nice enough» but did not appear happy to be there. I felt like I was bothering the clerks both at checkin and checkout. But let me be clear, they were never rude, just appeared irritated.
Overall– we would stay here again for a night or two. I would check the shower next time to see if there was a problem, but for the price we paid– it wasn’t a bad value.

The days Inn here is great very nice hotel .very clean with a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. the best part is the price, very affordable..

Overall good hotel. beds were great, comfy.
Checked in on a Thursday and parking lot was packed but we found a spot. The lady’s were SUPER nice and very accommodating!
The hallways have funky smells but the room was fine. Clean and don’t believe other photos I didn’t see any bugs in two days. There was however an empty bottle of lotion and empty bottle of lube under the there were no trash bags in the cans but they brought some up. Tried to get towels for the pool they just told me to use the ones from our room (5 people with two large towels) called when we got back they brought TWO more up!
Pool was really cold jets kinda sucked in hot tub.

Wow I was pleasantly surprised with my stay here. I’m a straight up princess and so I’m really, really picky about hotels. Days Inn never would have even crossed my mind but someone else booked this hotel for me and when I got a chance to read the Unilocal reviews, I was nervous to say the least. I almost had them cancel my reservation because I was so scared of the reviews but I decided to suck it up and I’m glad I did due to the fact that my stay here was awesome!
Normally check-​in time is 2pm… I arrived early at 6AM and guess what?! They checked me in with no problem and no extra charge! I was staying by myself and got a huge room upstairs with a king bed, fridge, microwave, table and chairs, and a sofa. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked with all the products I needed. I ended up forgetting my hairbrush and the staff was nice enough to bring a brand new clean one up to me when I called from my room. So after checking in, I got breakfast at the cute café downstairs. The food was okay but I enjoyed the service and it was affordable. After napping for half the day, I went to the Americana and Glendale Galleria which are super close by to get some shopping done.
The location of the hotel is kind of hard to find since there’s two different addresses listed so you need to pay attention or you’ll miss the entrance. The hotel is next to an extended stay motel but they’re not affiliated. I remember driving up and thinking «ewww I hope I don’t get one of these gross rooms» but I learned that the Days Inn is completely separate and extremely clean, but being next to the extended motel may throw some people off.
Anyway, I slept all day in the room and it was quiet and very clean. I ended up staying out that night and didn’t get back until 2pm the next day. Although check-​out time was at noon, the staff were nice and did not charge me extra for the late check-​out. Overall, I would definitely stay here again because of how clean and affordable it was.

Room is clean. average but it does have a couch and a big fridge. which is nice as well. The bar has a free pool table and cheap well drinks. not bad.the diner is not crazy expensive either and the food is ok. Can’t complain too much about my stay. all around good for the price. PS. prolly don’t have to worry about being ravaged by bed bugs… looks clean

I wouldn’t necessarily say «Yay! I’m a fan!», but the Days Inn of Glendale completely suited my needs for the price I paid and I didn’t see a single bug or cockroach anywhere. For anyone who complained about the décor and such, you have to remember this is not the Marriott or Hilton.
I stayed there for 6 nights while in town from Chicago for a wedding. The room was totally your standard hotel room. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and the beds were pretty nice (with the exception of the comforter, which I never use anywhere anyways). Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool which was also clean and maintained everyday.
The front office staff was polite and friendly and when we needed an ironing board, it was delivered within a few minutes to the room. Also they had nice computers for customers to use plus free WiFi in the room (thankfully because my 4G did not work there for some reason!) and best of all: FREE PARKING! All my other friends’ hotels charged daily for parking.
If I had to pick something to «complain» about it would be that the sink and counter is in the bathroom with the toilet and shower. This makes it difficult for more than one person to get ready at the same time (hair/​makeup while someone else showers type thing). Not a huge deal, but I did notice. Also, the complimentary soap smells pretty awful.
Overall, I would recommend the Days Inn for anyone looking for accommodations in Glendale while on a budget. It’s in a really central location near highways and is within walking distance to restaurants and the mall. I would stay there again.

Stayed here for my state board exam, I got a great deal and it served me well for its purpose. Definitely wasn’t the Hilton, but had all the comforts I needed. Will recommend to friends who are taking the exam as well.

I travel several times a month for work and stay in a lot of hotels. Never felt the need to write a review on any of them, but really think the negative reviews here are unfair.
This hotel is great for what it is. You don’t go to a Kia dealership, test drive an Optima, then yell at the sales person because it doesn’t drive as well as a Audi S7. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel, you’re going to have to pay a luxury premium.
I stayed here for about 8 hours when I flew in late to Burbank. Even though it was on my expense account, I didn’t feel right about paying twice as much for all other hotels in town. All the staff were courteous and friendly. The room was clean, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Of course the place needs a bit of updating, but the hotel never claims it doesn’t.
Really can’t say enough about how great the staff is. Rivals any 4 or 5 star hotel I’ve stayed. In the same month I stayed at St. Regis, Monaco, and W. The staff at Days Inn was just as great (and not as annoying) as any of these hotels.

I always get nervous when I go to a hotel that has such low reviews… my travel plans were made by my travel companion, though, and he got a good rate for a two night stay.
I really enjoyed my stay here. A lot.
We arrived early… like…3 hours before check in, and I know that many hotels will NOT allow early check in. We asked anyway, though, and the woman at the desk was super friendly and helpful. She said that there was a room ready, and got us checked in right away. She gave us 2 Wifi access keys, one for each of our phones, and we went up to the room.
I’ve been in a lot of hotel rooms, and I have NEVER seen one this clean before. The carpet was super clean, and the bathroom was spotless. The bed sheets were perfectly white, and everything smelled very fresh.
We left our suitcases, and took a walk to grab some food. The location of this hotel is perfect: just off the 134, and there are several restaurants/​cafes within walking distance (maybe 2 blocks total).
As soon as we sat down at the restaurant and ordered, I got a call from the hotel saying that they needed to move rooms, that there was going to be construction going on in the room we left our things in. I told her it would probably be an hour, and she was fine with that. The girl who called was very nice, and apologetic.
We took our time, and then walked back, and as soon as we walked in, the woman who had checked us in started apologizing profusely, and it was a very sincere apology.
She was able to move us just two doors down, and the new room was just as immaculate as the first.
Since we hadn’t unpacked, it really wasn’t too big of a deal, and really, it would have been a bigger deal if the apologies were not so sincere. I was given the impression that they REALLY felt bad about having to move us. That’s enough for me to not make such a huge deal of it.
TV channels were decent, the shower maintained hot water for a long time, and the refrigerator was ridiculous cold. Froze one of my Gatorades that I left in there.
The bed was soft, and comfortable, and we had a really nice view of the mountains.
All in all, for the little amount of money we paid, we got more than our money’s worth in service, cleanliness and comfort. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Its also super close to two concert venues, The Mayan (about 15 minutes away) and The Complex (about 6 minutes away). Only 20 minutes from Hollywood Blvd, too! Very conveniently located, and top notch service. :) Great job, Days Inn.

I stayed two nights in this hotel, but they were split nights so I had two different rooms. If I had just stayed the first night, I would have given it three stars probably. Since I stayed the second night though, I can’t give it more than one.
This is of course a budget motel, so I didn’t expect anything luxurious, but I expect things to be clean and staff to be courteous. Also, while Glendale technically isn’t too far from Hollywood/​Downtown, etc it can still be a bit of a drive especially in traffic, so I expect a little more for less money.
The first night, the room was fairly clean, and we had a tv (albeit old), microwave, mini fridge, and tiny coffee pot. We were pretty satisfied with it for the money and didn’t have much trouble with check in/​check out even though the parking is super weird. Yes, it is free, but they have three lots. The one lot that is closest to the door is almost all handicap parking. I’ve never seen any place have that much. How many are they expecting at one time? Half of those would suffice. Otherwise you have to either cross the street or walk around the building, which I’d rather not do at night. Overall, night 1 was three stars.
The second night is where they really screwed up. We got in the room and it wasn’t super clean. It looked older than the first room I’d been in. There was no remote, no coffee maker, and no microwave. We told the front desk and they were just like oh well too bad. So we called maintenance who said that the stuff should be there. Uh… well, they weren’t. They finally brought up a coffee maker and remote, but were pretty rude about it. Not sure how the cleaning crew didn’t notice those three things were missing, especially the coffee pot because they put new packets of coffee in that space.
In the bathroom, there was some purple stuff all over one wall, not sure what it was, but I didn’t want to touch it. The tub was REALLY narrow (and I’m a pretty petite person, and it was super narrow for me) and the shower head itself was barely higher than 5’0″ (I know because I’m 5′ and I barely was able to stand straight under it). I’ve never seen one that low.
Overall, not super clean, rude staff, items missing, very outdated, not great parking, and definitely not good value for the money.
I wouldn’t recommend this motel at all to anyone. I definitely wouldn’t go near here again

The front desk is hopelessly procedural. My room key would not work so I went to the desk and asked for them to re-​authenticate my card. My better half had booked online and they did not PRINT my name on the registration when checking in. However, I SIGNED the registration form. Last time I checked, a printed name is not legally binding, however a signature is. Considering I signed the contract, I am on the bloody room. I had my ID on me and signatures matched. From a strictly legal standpoint, as my wife did not sign it, she could legally argue that she, herself, is not bound by their terms, rather I was. That’s the disconnect here.
I didn’t know my wife’s cell phone number or her address locally as she is here on business and staying about 30 miles away. All of that is in my iPhone which was in the room. They then informed me that they were calling her number that they had in the system to verify information. Great! They said there was no answer. This was not true. They never called her. Have they not heard of the fact that it would show as a missed call on my wife’s phone? Inexcusable. This type of myopia is asinine. Look, I am all for remedial measures for safety, but that is just being dumb. I had no phone on me as it was in the room and I was facing the possibility I’d be locked out of my room for hours until my better half came back. This is NOT a good sign. Finally after having to escalate this, they gave me a new card. I then went back to my room. Didn’t work. Seriously?
I was about to drop them two stars for this egregious occurrence, however the manager called me personally and apologized. Some people would expect a comp or something. That’s not me. I am satisfied that the manager will take the appropriate measures. However, this situation makes me slightly uncomfortable going forward. Thus, my new rating is a cautious 3 stars.
**ORIGINAL REVIEW**
I have stayed here on four different occasions so far in 2013. I also attempted, in vain, to find something equivalent for the price.
Factors upon which I based my opinion:
1. It is a hotel, not a motel. That is to say, the room’s door empties into a hallway, not directly outside. This provides more privacy.
2. Efficiencies available for $ 10/​night additional. This includes: fairly large dorm fridge, coffee maker and microwave. When you add this additional fee, it is still cheaper than many other alternatives.
3. Clean. It is very clean and, though old, it remains constantly looked after. Rooms are always spotless.
4. Air conditioner is superb. I have been in at least 10 of their rooms and they all have fantastic A/​Cs. I am picky on this and it far exceeds my expectations.
5. Location. it is off a fairly busy street but it is not so busy that it is loud. It is a short walk to Starbucks and Acapulco.
6. Free wifi. It is not fast so do not expect to be streaming Netflix or Hulu, it will play like a staccato Tourette’s sufferer. Yet, it is adequate for email and basic browsing.
7. Free parking. They have three lots. If you come in after 8 you tend to have to cross a residential street. The lots are well lit.
8. It has a decent, yet inexpensive, little restaurant on premises.
9. They have laundry.
Downsides:
1. It is old and very outdated. In reading other reviewers, I find it amusing that the general theme is outdated equals dirty. It doesn’t. As other’s have indicated, the décor is mid 1980’s slapped on a 1960’s skeleton. It is what is is. But, unlike other hotels, it does not pretend to be anything other that it is. There is no identity crisis here.
2. Staff. A few can be a bit rough around the edges at times, but, overall, we have been pleased with the staff and they have been attentive and we have be satisfied with their accommodating of our specific requests.
3. TV. It is an old CRT TV. I ended up just watching things on my ipad.
4. An interesting cast of characters. To me this is actually a plus as I think they should charge to people watch here. Lots of interesting stories I am sure. Now with that said, some people who are from the middle of nowhere Nebraska may find some folks a bit more rough around the edges than you would find at a corresponding Hilton. I never felt uncomfortable once and neither did my better half.
5. Many cosmetic damages such as chipped furniture, lamps not working, outlets not working, permanent stains, etc. Again, look at the location and its competitors and you’ll see that this is not the worst situation. I would much rather have emphasis placed on cleanliness and good upkeep of the air-​conditioners than to spend that same money on wallpaper. You may be different.
At the end of the day, I give it a solid 4 stars. This does not mean it is a «4-​star» hotel, for clearly it is not. Yet, as stated, they do not pretend to be the Hilton. They are a Unilocal 4-​Star 2.5 star hotel if that makes sense; especially considering its competitors.

THE Worst!!!
Stayed one night, June 24^th. Never again. The room had no sheer curtains, so when I walked in and opened up the drapes for light three people in the pool, one floor down looked straight at me and into my room so I had no choice but to leave the drapes closed. Only two of the four lamps in the room worked but they were very dim. They might have had 25watt bulbs in each. The bed was as hard as a rock. My daughter was going to sleep on the pullout couch but wound up sleeping in the bed with me. You could feel and count the springs in the pull out couch. There was no bedding for the couch so we had to call to have some brought up. The wallpaper was coming off the walls all over the room. It was unsightly. The décor of the room and hotel was way outdated, maybe from the 70’s. The most uncomfortable nights stay we’ve ever had anywhere. Never ever again!!!

The cheapest rates in the Glendale/​Los Feliz area. For the price you’ll pay for the Days Inn, you’ll be happy with it. The hotel offers free parking, free wifi and a decent room with cable tv. No microwave or fridge (rent a fridge for $ 10 a day though). The staff, maids and front desk staff were all nice and attentive.
Stay at the Days Inn Glendale if you need a hotel in the area, cheapest rates, and no frills. The hotel room isn’t bad but a little dated but does the job. This isn’t the W or the Ritz, but it’ll do.
