Our goal at ESL by Design [an adult English-​as-​a-​second-​langage school] is for students to have a positive experience living in the U.S., whether they are here temporarily or permanently. Unlike most schools, we design English classes based on the needs of our students so that learning English is practical and enjoyable!

Our class sizes are small and teachers are available to assist students with communication problems they may have outside the classroom. Teachers can come to your workplace for English instruction and create a class that is business-​specific.

We take trips to places that our students need to know about as well as points of interest such as museums, art galleries, and the zoo. We also offer specialized class times teaching jewelry-​making, cooking and other fun learning experiences.

History

Established in 2003.

ESL BY DESIGN was founded to assist the wives of students attending The Thunderbird School of Global Management achieve confidence and success in their ability to communicate in the English language.

ESL by Design distinguishes itself from most schools by creating classes based on the needs of our students so that learning English is practical and enjoyable.

Our TESOL certified teachers can also come to your place of business any where in the Phoenix metro area for English instruction. We can design a class specifically for your employees as well as teach on-​site.

Meet the Business Owner

Jane M.

Business Owner

Jane is a Co-​owner of ESL by Design, along with Francine Gehr.

She obtained her undergraduate degree in Speech-​Communications (1974), and got a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), in 2012.

She has a varied work history in teaching many subjects to all ages, both in the US and abroad; and also has experience in sales and marketing positions.
