If you are from la Crescenta, this place is like a high school reunion! Every night my boyfriend and I come here we run into people we know from high school. The bar it self is very small and old style. They have a pool table and trust me! If you’re not a pro at pool table, I suggest to not even look at it. The players take the game TOO seriously! When I come to a bar I’m looking to have drinks and relax maybe play pool not watch a bunch of pros hog the table! (Just a thought)

Perfect dive bar. Always goes people there. The bartenders are nice. The juke box is awesome. Drinks are decently priced. I’ve never had a problem meeting new people there. If they’re 25 or 55. People are chill.

Cool place to hangout with my gals, the bartender is very witty, drinks are good but they don’t offer food here, not a good choice if you’re planning to get some grub.

I enjoyed this place a lot when I went with a couple of friends. The keg blew so she gave me half a beer for free, then quickly changed it and brought me a new one. She was super sweet. And they had all kinds of games out on a table to play which was super fun and different. I haven’t played Jenga since I was a kid! That was really cool. Decently priced. Super laid-back which I love! Definitely added to my list of places to go in that area.

SHADEYTRASHYBAR. the phone # on their recipients doesn’t even work. The bartenders are awful, slow service. They stand around a talk crap instead of serving drinks. You will either get hardly a shot in a drink or they grossly over pour. No consistency what so ever. The bartenders need some class and to take a class on being bartenders. Oh and THEYSTEAL! they added and extra $ 5 to my tip on my bill. I saved my recipient and had to call my bank about the fraud. Complete bs bar, why waste your time. Such a shame because it used to be awesome, the bartenders used to be great. Went totally down hill.

I really like Gilligan’s. Two years ago if you asked me, I probably would’ve said no, but, last couple of years, it’s been our local spot. The bartenders serve up great stiff drinks. The bar is low-key and doesn’t get overly crowded and obnoxious. The crowd are mostly locals. They have one pool table, but we usually come here to play darts. There’s more space in between darts boards than Fantasia and Leo’s who only has one board. The bar area is a bit dark, but it’s spacious and has nice booths along the wall to hang out.

Love this bar! The people are great and the bartenders are so friendly. Plus the food is some of the best I’ve ever had.

My favorite spot on Thursdays. Can’t beat their price on IPAs. Great booth seating for nights out with some friends. I really like gilligans and have never had a bad time here. I tend to see the same guys on the pool table every time I am in. It doesn’t bother me too much, I just don’t go here when I want to play pool. Other than that, it’s a great spot! Great bartenders too!

I like this place a lot better than the capri, even though its the same owner. Its like an upgraded version of the capri but i think its a lot better cause of the crowd. Drinks are the same, cheap but strong and theres 1 smokin hot bartender that works there, little short woman, mmhmmm lololol shes great! Vibe is better, more white folks here than capri. Bigger wider bar and patio!

There is not a lot to say. No food? Oh well. I went for a beer. There are plenty of places nearby. Locals? If you’re looking for nightlife, go outside La Crescenta. People are great. Someone crockpotted meatballs at a table on our first visit. I was eating one 2 minutes upon arrival. Someone I had never met before told me to dig in and I did. The previous words I speak are not important. Cold, beautifully priced pints of Stone and Eagle Rock IPAs are why we go. If you need a cold beer. Go. Don’t go with expectations of an epic night out. You won’t find it. Go for a good pint with someone you like. Or by yourself. You’ll get it here.

Gross! This place is nothing but a trashy drug den. The beers are cheap because they’re watered down and warm! Nothing but drunk locals starting fights and the security is a joke. Sad because the bartender girl was so sweet. Save your money and go elsewhere.

High hopes when they first opened but… Trashy bar. Doesn’t even rate as a «dive» bar(check out Avignone’s down the street for that classic vibe). My buddy, a very mellow dude, bar culture aficionado from Chicago, and semi-regular at a nearby pub(a place that actually serves food and a decent beer selection) went in to check it out one night for a change of pace and almost got into a fight. He was lucky because fights break out there regularly, sometimes spilling out into the street and surrounding neighborhood. No one I’ve spoken to in the surrounding area with a shred of self respect goes there anymore. The general impression of the locals it that the people who go there are mostly folks who are not from the immediate area; troublemakers from elsewhere. Don’t take my word for it, I subscribe to and and ever since Gilligan’s opened a little over a year ago DUI and assault have skyrocketed. Stay away in the hopes they get hit with a public nuisance charge and have to close so something decent opens to replace the trash.

Certain days and times of the day, this bar can be pretty creepy. For instance, I came here with my sister on a Saturday afternoon and it was a little scary. Not scary in a unsafe kind of way, but scary in the way that you actually see the people who drink in bars during the afternoon, and you feel like that could be your future, should you too continue to drink in bars on Saturday afternoons. Even having experienced that, I still love this bar. The owner is the bomb! My favorite bartender, Amber, is the best, and they have an awesome jukebox. Add in $ 3 beers on Thursdays(which happens to be the one night Amber works) and you’ve got the ingredients for one great bar. It also doesn’t hurt that this place is a 4 minute drive from my house. I knew I was going to love Gilligan’s after the first time I came in with a girlfriend. We had a blast and like I said, everyone who works there was super friendly. Steve, the owner, even gave us $ 10 to put in the jukebox. But when we came back, 2 weeks later and both Steve and Amber greeted us by name, I was completely sold. There are a few old«regulars» who can get a little too friendly, but I think that can be said with any bar.

It’s a fine bar — but really when I think ‘Pub’ I think grub. None here. Sunday is quite. The floors are nice and so are the bartenders.

Thursdays are the best at Gills. $ 3 for any beer or draft! Mondays give discounts to ladies. Sundays have drink specials for anyone in the food service industry. It’s a favorite spot for the local young crowd. A lot of old regulars from the My Way Lounge still come here, so the crowd is a great mix of young and old. Good vibes and people.

I began frequenting Gilligans on Wednesday nights when it opened. If you know anything about me, you know that I am a karaōke junkie and I go anywhere I can belt out tunes with my fellow addicts(and the audience of folks who can stand listening to us). I prefer a bar that is… less than crowded. I’m not looking for the hot spot. And Gilligans is not the hot spot but it gets a decent crew. The Wednesday night bartender Ingrid is super adorable and sweet as pie. Seamus hosts karaōke and there’s a pool table and darts for those who prefer a less embarrasing activity. There’s a smoking patio in back where you can get a nic fix. Downsides, the big open space seems a little cold, no food(although Seamus cooks sometimes), and the toilets in the ladies seem to have trouble flushing but all in all, good times, good people, and only like the best karaōke krew in the Greater LA area.
