Glendale Recycling Center

Thank you, Lord, finally a decent place to redeem those stupid CRV dollars! Very well organized and thankfully out in the open so it’s not stifling and buggy (there are bugs, just not as many). The whole process was fast and painless, and I’ll definitely be back.

Great operation. All the baskets one needs right out by the parking stalls. Dump your precious recyclables in them and the guys handle the sorting and weighing. They take everything, but you need to sort your CRV plastics from your non-​CRV plactics or risk getting very little for your stash.

Plenty of parking, easy, and friendly staff. The only place I’ll ever go to recycle. What more can I say, they make recycling bloody painless.

Smooth and easy recycling center in the city of Glendale. Plenty of parking. Open Monday through Saturday and the staff is nice and helpful. Makes recycling very easy so our families always go here to recycle our items.

Only place we recycle now. Pretty simple, I don’t think I ever had problems finding a spot to park. I don’t know how fair the pay out is, but I feel much more confident coming here, instead of some of these other recycling places that operate out of a freight container.

Very nice and helpful staff. I came here looking for a lot of cardboard for a school crafting project. They had a bunch of cardboard in all the sizes I wanted, and one of the staff helped pick the pieces up for me. I wasn’t allowed to go and pick for myself because I was wearing open toed shoes, and had to stand far away. That was a nice touch that they were concerned about my feet’s safety — I didn’t tell them that I was much more likely to bang my toe on my coffee table at home!

Totally straight forward. You put your items in the baskets and get in line to have them weighed. Plastic bottles in their own, cans in their own, and cardboard in its own.
You can have plastic bottles weighed or counted. For water bottles I have them counted because you get $ 0.05 for the CRV which is more than you would by weight. Cardboard really doesn’t yield much $. I had 50+/- lbs of cardboard and it only returned just UNDER $ 4. I’m going to put them in my recycle bin from now on.

I have just celebrated a year of recycling all thanks to the Glendale Recycling Center. I know for some this is not a big deal, but GRC and their amazing staff makes it so easy.
I have tried to be good and green and recycle in the past. It was always a pain. The hours of other places would be unpredictable or the amount paid for certain items would always vary wildly week to week. I would usually give up 4 weeks into trying to be «green» and just toss my plastic, glass and paper at my apartment.
Now, I know exactly what I can recycle, when they are open and about how much I will get in return. This is a popular place, so be prepared on busy days (Saturday) to wait a bit. I am always greeted with a smile and am getting to know a few of the employees there.
The facility is as clean as a recycling facility can be, given soda cans and glass bottles drip and spill on the ground. I always leave with a smile knowing that I have done something for the environment and my pocket book.

I got PAID to recycle. I love it! $ 7.35 for a carload of cardboard boxes… Convenient, friendly, good for the earth.

This place is quick and efficient to get rid of your recyclables and get paid. However, I do think they really screw you on plastic bottles. I think you are supposed to get at least 10 cents for each large plastic bottle if you can recycle it yourself (if you can find one of those recycling vending machines outside the supermarkets), but they only pay $ 0.09 cents per pound for plastic (which works out to at least 4 or 5 bottles if not more). So instead of getting your 60 cents, you only get 9 cents. Yikes!

I stopped by the center to drop off an old laptop and PC. Granted I didn’t need to bother with getting anything weighed, but it was convenient and the staff were helpful. They also took a lithium ion battery for my new laptop.

this place accepts newspaper, random paper, cardboard, cans, glass bottles, plastics. just about anything. there were even ppl in line w/​metal scrap.
they will weigh and pay you for your recyclables, but the line was long (even for late-​morning monday) and i didnt really need 45 cents that badly. i ended up donating my stuff to ppl who were ahead of me in line.
just a warning — there were many MANY bees there, swarming around the aluminum can pile. it really gave me the willies.
