History

Established in 2009.

Go Musicals is me (Kevin Frei), my partner Leah Koestner, and our growing team of international collaborators. Leah and I are both from Arizona and graduates of ASU. Leah was studying economics in college and performing as a solo acoustic musician around town when I met her. I had recently graduated with a degree in English Lit and History and was working with an arranger on the score and demo for Final Vinyl, my first musical. (The story of Final Vinyl actually goes back to 2003 when my friends and I put on an early version of the musical as seniors at Glendale High School.) Leah offered to sing on the demo and we soon became partners in this new venture.

As for the name «Go Musicals», it was originally an abbreviation of «Golgonooza Musicals.» «Golgonooza» is a nice little reference to the poetry of William Blake, but it’s hard to remember so we changed it to «Go.»
