Established in 2010.

Goodie Girls Cupcakes took the win on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars Kentucky Derby episode & runner up in Cupcake Wars Champions Pixar «Brave» episode. From there, we went nationwide to do an on air demo of our famous Pumpkin Pancake Cupcakes & share with the nation our original «Cake-​Up» (push up pops) on CBS’s «The Talk» with Julie Chen & Debi Mazar. Goodie Girls has also been featured on Fox 11’s Wednesday’s Child with Christine Devine, KTLA, CNN, & has sponsored multiple media events.

Goodie Girls has provided cupcakes for the elite clientele including Kaley Cuoco, Anna Kendrick, Daniel Radcliffe, Nikki Reed, Jay Leno, and more. Some corporate clients include CBS, KTLA, DIsney, Pixar, Focus Features, Relativity Media, Dreamworks, and have also been named the Official cupcake for ParaNorman and the 2012 Breeders Cup.

Annette Starbuck, the multi-​Award Winning Founder of Goodie Girls exuberates a joyous passion for creating a variety of baked delights through her valiant curiosity and enchanting talent.

Even more remarkable, aside from countless independent Instructional Culinary Sessions, Annette has never actually enrolled into any institutional Culinary Programs or attended Culinary School, but she’s achieved acclaimed success only through her seasoned personal experience and pure creative determination.

This is one of those times when I wish I could do half stars because I want to give them a 4.5, but I’ll round up and give them a 5.
I stopped by and got their red velvet cupcake yesterday. It wasn’t the best – but it was very close to being the best red velvet cupcake I have ever had.
I was also really impressed by the service. The girl that helped me yesterday was really friendly and nice. The ambiance of the shop is very cute.
I would definitely stop by here again!

Cute little shop. They really like the color pink! There’s even a hello kitty in the front store display. In any case, just stopped by to pick up a few cupcakes for a friend’s birthday around closing time, and bought their last two cupcakes for the day. Really friendly service. Good cupcakes!

Love their pinkamena, breeder’s cup, and mint julep! I enjoy the fact that they rotate flavors… it keeps things fresh and allows customers to try new flavors!
A little on the pricey side, but it’s to be expected for gourmet cupcakes. The staff are nice, but not always the warmest greeters.

Goodie Girls has a set of pretty standard flavors, and then some more creative ones. But their creativity seems to outweigh their capabilities.
I’ve definitely had better cupcakes elsewhere. Much better, in fact. The cupcakes here tend to be dry. And they’re not as flavorful as their names seems to indicate. Most recently I had the raspberry lemon cupcake and a glass of milk was definitely needed while I was eating it. And on top of that, the lemon flavor was just barely detectable. However, the raspberry preserves inside seemed fresh and flavorful.
The staff here is pretty nice, and the cupcakes are okay, but they’re not mind blowing which is good because I can easily walk here from my apartment.

I ordered 8 dozen mini cupcakes for my daughter’s first birthday party. Everyone LOVED them!!! First, ordering was really easy. I called in my order and payed over the phone. When I called back because I’d changed my mind and wanted to add more, the person on the other end was courteous and not bothered by my indecisiveness. I sent my husband to pick them up the day of the party. When he got home, they were perfectly packaged. The ladies had tied a cute pink ribbon around them to keep them together and reduce jarring on the ride. They were all in perfect condition when they got here. Last, and most important, they tasted amazing! The few that were left over kept and tasted great for many days to follow. Thanks Goodie Girls! We’ll definitely be back!

I really debated about going to Goodie Girls because the last time I attempted to come here, I used the Unilocal in-​app GPS. Instead of leading me to the store, it lead me to the mountains, which was a big no bueno. A foreshadowing of doom, perhaps?
This time, instead of my original plan of getting a cronut from Crumbs, I decided take the chance for Goodie Girls. Since I kind of knew the area a bit (and not relying on that GPS again), I saw the place heading eastbound, made a quick left into the alleyway, thinking there was parking. Yeah, didn’t happened. Ended circling around and found street parking.
Inside the shop, it was pretty cute; very girly and very artisy. The girl explained to me the whole method of their display: the top shelf has fillings for $ 3.50 and the bottom had no filling which was $ 3. I saw the caramel apple and decided since fall is here, why not get something fall-​like? Bought it, and walked out of the store, noticing there’s edible glitter there! YAY for distractions! And like with every distraction, there’s a reason for it.
The buttercream frosting was just buttercream frosting. Nothing special about it. I was really hoping for some flavoring agent in there, and tasted nothing. The filling wasn’t overly sweet, which some people would like; for me, I was expecting the filling to be sweet, sweet like the filling you get at McD’s or something market-​bought. Just apples. The cake wasn’t bad, just a basic vanilla cake, with nothing. To sum it up, I just had a cupcake, nothing special about it, and questioning how did they win Cupcake Wars, if they make cupcakes that have no WOW factor.
I’m agreeing with Keely G., I had better cupcakes elsewhere. And her mentioning «reduced for quick sale», reminded me that I had cupcakes that were discounted from fresh and easy, and kept them in my fridge an extra day, and THOSE were better than this.
If this place is using their winning in Cupcake Wars to be their spring board to get people in, they aren’t doing a great job of having me return back. Honestly, I would take my money, and go to Crumbs instead.

I kind of feel bad for what I’m about to say because the girl behind the counter was really nice, but you know what makes me feel even worse? Paying $ 4 for quite possibly the worst cupcake I’ve ever had in my entire life (this includes store bought, «reduced for quick sale» cupcakes, bake sales and Easy Bake oven cupcakes made by a 4 year old). As a self-​proclaimed junk food junkie I know a thing or two about cupcakes. In fact, I’ve had more than my fair share of them. It defies credulity that these cupcakes were winners of any type of award, much less the winners of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network. I’m guessing everyone else burned their cupcakes or served up cups of raw batter for this to have occurred. Anyone giving this place over 2 stars MAX, needs their taste buds checked and their dessert cards revoked: STAT.
We rolled in about 2pm and we got off on the wrong foot immediately. They were out of red velvet cupcakes! **Gasp!!!** So I begrudgingly ordered a lemon cupcake. Big mistake. One of the cardinal rules of cupcakes is NEVER, and I mean EVER give me a dry cupcake or you’ll be dead to me. It was closer to the texture of cornbread, than a cupcake. It was that dry. Add on top of that, the cupcake was devoid of any flavor whatsoever, minus a tiny dollop of somewhat lemony filling in the center. The worst part though? What they pass off as «frosting.» I am retching just thinking about it… It literally tasted as if they plunked down a heaping of Crisco, threw in some yellow dye and lemon flavor that was so faint, I wasn’t sure if I was just imagining it. The consistency was slimy, greasy and flat out gross. Two bites and it went straight into the trash. I want my 4 bucks back!

Some of these reviews crack me up! However, I was here to finally write a review for CUPCAKES!!! I’m not sure why I’ve never written a review for this place.
Disclaimer: I haven’t been to the bakery yet — however, have had an awesome friend pick up a few cupcakes — and see below as I post the nummy cupcakes.
What I LOVED —
Each cupcake had their individual packaging to minimize any type of smushing or crushing of the delicate mini cake. The cake was fluffy and flavorful. The frosting was light and airy, almost like whipped cream chockful of taste. It wasn’t overly too sweet, like some of the other cupcakery places out there. If you’re looking for a lighter cupcake — the goodie girls are your girls :).
What I tried–
Pinkamena — Strawberry w/​Strawberry filling. so light. so fluffy. it’s soooo fluffy!!!
Special of the Week — Marshmallow Peep — YES! it was a chocolate marshmellow yuminess!
Glitterglide — Strawberry Cake filled w/​Strawberries & Cream Cheese
nom! as you can tell I love strawberries.
Can’t wait to come in and try others. :)

I love Goodie Girls! I first found out about them on Cupcake Wars and then when I realized I lived a little more than a mile away, I just had to try them. I was hooked from the first bite. Never had a bad cupcake. I’m a huge chocoholic so I am always intrigued by whatever they’re doing with chocolate cupcakes. And besides the yummy cupcakes, the staff is always super friendly and nice.
Mmmmm… now I want a cupcake!

I watch Cupcake Wars religiously so after realizing that Goodie Girls was a 5 minute drive away, I couldn’t help but stop in for a visit.
There was another review on here that asked if they actually taste their cupcakes and after my visit, I couldn’t help but ask the same thing!
I purchased 2 cupcakes, thank God it wasn’t more!
The Cupcake Wars winning «Peaches and Cream» was just okay. It tasted like a vanilla cupcake with whipped frosting and ONE peach inside. Really? That was it.
The Strawberry Lemonade which is a «popular» choice amongst customers is a straight joke. My boyfriend opened the container and it really smelled like someone passed gas. I thought it was a spoiled cupcake for the longest time until I realized that whoever baked the cupcake infused it with SO much food coloring. That’s what that awful smell was. I tried to eat it but couldn’t get past the aroma of food coloring. It was also a stale cupcake.
I hate to give them 1 star because the worker who helped us was extremely nice and helpful but the cupcakes are absolutely awful! Such a shame cause this has got to be one of the cutest cupcake boutiques I’ve visited. I’m surprised they won Cupcake Wars!
Highly disappointed that $ 7 has gone to waste.

I honestly wonder if they taste their own cupcakes. I tasted their «winning» peaches and cream cupcake today. It was awful! The frosting tasted like lotion. I also had an extremely stale lemon cupcake.
I keep coming here because its on my way home. And I keep regretting it.
The owner has asked me to stop giving her terrible cupcakes a chance. I will respect her request, leave my 1 star review and suggest going to CRUMBS BAKE SHOP about a mile away… their cupcakes are fresh and delicious and actually edible… Imagine that!

A good cupcake is like the holy grail – a light, rich, sweet, and delicate dessert.
The Goodie Girls Got it. I had the peach mini cupcake at the Malibu/​Calabasas Food Fest and was struck by just how well the ladies balance texture with flavor.
As an aside, might someone please explain how Malibu/​Calabasas are adjacent cities? Then again, I suppose that Torrance is, these days at least, «Bev Hills adjacent.» This is LA after all – home of such disastrous titles as «The Los Angeles Angels of ANAHEIM.»
To that I say, adjacent is the new black!
For the record, I’m founding a cupcakes and wine shoppe. I feel it. I totally feel it!

I remember first bumping into the owner, Annette Starbuck at The Chef’s Center in Pasadena for their summer Food Truck Fare, and instantly I recognized her after watching an episode of the Cupcake Wars on the Food Network a couple of days before our chance meeting. I thought how privileged it is to be able to sample her cupcakes!
My first ever Goodie Girl cupcake was the blueberry pancake cupcake. I was surprised how her cupcakes had filling in them, how they’re not overly sweeten, and how the batter is not dry and dense at all, it is truly a delicate treat to have. This was why I’ve been a fan of her cupcakes ever since.
The moment you step into the storefront of Goodie Girls, you feel like you’ve stepped into a specialty boutique, where the sweet smell of cupcakes fills the air and welcomes you in. Instantly you are drawn to their display case showcasing the array of the cupcakes they’ve baked for the day, as a friendly staff member explains the specials they feature.
I go there whenever I feel like I have to treat myself. The location is centrally located near a major highway, next to a busy mall, and parking is never hard to find by the curbside at the front of the store.
I’ll keep going especially now that they’ve created exclusive Girl Scout inspired cupcakes. Part of the proceeds from the cupcakes are given back to the Girl Scouts. Eating for a cause couldn’t get any sweeter than this.

I had first discovered this place when I was running the downtown dash 5k! And I had forgotten about it until I was driving home from trader joes and saw this place again. I decided to go in after grocery shopping to see what they had. Sadly it was 5:20pm and they were sold out for the day. I called back because the next day was valentine’s day and I was able to put in a phone order for a few cupcakes. I got the spicy red velvet and it was delicious! Thank you Goodie Girls now I have a new cupcake to go to near my house!

Goodie Girls love what they do and it shows! There’s something special about walking in and glazing upon the glittering shiny pretty cupcakes all in a row. I love the strawberry cupcake with the strawberry filling! They have seasonal cupcakes, and I usually go with what they recommend.

I was looking for a cute cupcake shop to take my niece to, and i stumbled upon Goodie Girls on Unilocal.What a great decision it was to head on over here…
very easy to find because of the cute colors of the store from the outside. they are very child friendly with cute little kid like patio seating tables inside.
i purchased 4 cupcakes… the red velvet, pinkamena, teddy and the cranberry apple.(picture)
all cakes were delicious, moist and the frosting was made to perfection on all of them. the frosting is not thick, it was light and perfect… just the way I like my cakes.
i will be visiting this place again and again because of the convenient location, quick in n out experience and to try the new weekly flavors.

The owner of Goodie Girls (Annette @googiegirlcooks) actually contacted me directly on Instagram to come try her cupcakes. So yeah, I post a lot of photos of cupcakes on my IG…
So I’ve had Goodie Girls bookmarked on Unilocal for a while now. They’ve been open since November 2011. My husband, mom, and sister were having lunch in Glendale and my sister mentions that it’s «Sunday Funday» so cupcakes are $ 2 all day! (until they run out). We decide to stop in for dessert. The shop is in a brick building with one small table outside (street parking). You can see the chandelier hanging through the window.
Once we stepped through the doors, we were immediately greeted by chef/​owner Annette. She asks if this was our first time there and tells us about her cupcakes and flavors. Each cupcake is already in its own individual plastic container.
We bought 5 cupcakes for $ 10:
1-​Sugarcup (vanilla cake w/​vanilla frosting)
1-​Luv-​a-​lot (red velvet w/​vanilla cream cheese frosting)
1-​Rainbow Dash (vanilla cake w/​chocolate frosting & rainbow sprinkles)
2-​Choco PB Fudge (Seasonal — chocolate cake w/​fudge & PB frosting)
Seriously, the decorations were cute and appealing. The frostings were beautiful and all had a dash of glitter on them.
Okay, here is the big one… taste!
All the cupcakes had decent flavor, frosting was light & not too heavy. However, the cake itself was dry. We tried the Sugarcup cupcake first, so were were hoping that it was just that batch that was dry so we moved onto the Rainbow Dash & then Choco PB Fudge… Unfortunately, all the cakes were dry and not very moist at all.
The cake itself is 2 STARS (kind of disappointed) but I am giving an extra star for the really cute storefront and friendly customer service.
OVERALL: Not my FAVORITE cupcake shop, but when we are in the area, we will definitely stop in to check out new flavors. (and maybe will get an updated review)

As soon as I removed the lid of my pumpkin pancake cupcake my senses went wild with the aroma of pumpkin. It smelt so GOOD! One little lick of the maple frosting and It was like an explosion in my mouth of flavor. OMG, has to be one of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted. My husband gave me a bite of his red velvet and it has to be the best red velvet I have ever tasted. Super moist and full of flavoe with a sweet cream cheese frosting topped with a little red heart. They are not to big, a perfect size.
So I have been following this place on facebook and watching it unwrap with all the excitement about their grand opening. While in the area I convinced my husband to let me check it out. They were having special $ 2.00 cupcakes from 4−7pm and a free CakeUp with purchase (like a icecream push up but with cake) Such a score, but you know what? I would of bought a cake up anyway. Who wouldnt want a push up in the form of a cake? I ordered the pumpkin pancake, red velvet and their birthday time (yellow cake with a chocolate frosting)
This shop is super cute and the cupcakes come in their own little round plastic box with a goodie girl sticker. They said these boxes keep them fresher. And they are perfect for one the go… you can take a bite on the way home and put it back into its box and not worry about making a mess.
I cant wait to go back and try all the flavors. Lots and lots of seasonal flavors right now. Parking was perfect we were able to park on the street just a few feet away from the door. The girl working behind the counter was so nice offering suggestions for our order and sent us off with stickers.
