Jesse James Comics

this is my local comic store, by principle i will support it. The owner is friendly, helpful, and runs an excellent store. however, i come for the card games not for the comics. The staff person behind the card game counter (when there is one, which is basically just weekends) is generally prickly, unhelpful, and sometimes just rude. They also sometimes will give preferential service to their friends or customers they are more familiar with. I know the owner has attempted to rectify these issues by finding new gaming employees but it has still not been solved. i will continue to bring my business here but i wish the customer service and friendliness from the comic side of the store would carry over to the gaming side.

I used to work at enterprise comics and they would always talk bad about this store so I never tried it out. Those snobs were definitely wrong! When I moved to Glendale I finally checked it out and it’s way better than most comic stores I’ve seen. They have everything including drinks, popcorn, and they always have a movie playing when I come in! This store and All About Comics are the best comic book stores around!

I enjoyed the shop. I was on that side of town having lunch with the girlfriends mom and decided to swing by. The shop was bigger than most and had separate rooms for MtG and other trading card games. The only issue I had was the layout. it felt manic and spread out. I figure its to get people to wonder around looking at tables for whatever they may like. I ended purchasing a trade paperback and got my girlfriend 2 books. On that note she wanted the one in the case that was marked 14.99 but the guy who was talking with us said don’t worry about that price. When we checked out I noticed i was charged 19.99 for it. Good thing was the guy ringing me up fixed the price and gave me an additional 10% on it. I will go back and stop in again when i’m on that side of town.

Has all you need and more. If you can’t find it on the shelves, the fine staff will absolutely search high and low for your needed book. As a long time reader and collector, I brought my daughter in for her first comic book store experience and she had a great time! The staff even guided her towards books she would enjoy to begin her collection.
Free board and bag and an awesome rewards system will have us coming back regularly for our comic book fix.

This is my local comic book store. I frequent it fairly regularly, when my new titles are in. I’ve seen it grow in a short amount of time, and each time it gets more and more impressive. There is a lot of product that goes in and out, that being said if you don’t find what you are looking for come back next week. I did that a few times and not only found what I was looking for, I also walked out with things I found in addition.

Okay. So comic book store doesn’t really describe this place. Jesse James Comics does sell comics. Tons of comics. But the location is so massive with tons of everything the medium is all about– original art, old issues, new issues, graphic novels, toys, 50 cent boxes (Yup, 50 cent boxes. O yeah!!). Comic book world is more like it. It’s like your at an actual comic book convention but it’s a store.
Even though the place is huge. It’s very easy to find something that you are interested in. This day I brought a good friend’s kid to buy some comic books. In two seconds, he had five books in his hand.
What you will also notice about this place is the people who work and run the place. They are people who love comics and love what they are doing. The vibe is very friendly and laid back. Throughout the place they have sofas, chairs and tables. It’s not about making a sale and get out. They want you to take your time and buy something you really want.
Going in. I have been interested in trying MTG. Having been familiar with the game but not have actually ever played the card game. I was floored. They had a separate space just for gaming. There was a guy in there who answered all my questions. Gave me some good tips and gave me a deal on a good starter deck. Awesome! I am ready to kick some Magic butt.
Overall an awesome time. Very jealous that I am not a local resident just a guy on vacation from out of town. I would be here everyday. The place is just so cool. Someone who really enjoys comics can be in here for hours.

I decided to come back to this shop (even after my last negative review) because I’m addicted to all comics and just can’t get enough of them. I have to say that this shop is much better than it ever was before. The selection of comics has greatly improved and the prices are down right cheap. Now that the smoke shop next door is gone, the whole place smells better. The store has been remodeled and was pretty clean when I came in to shop. The discount section was organized (even the 50 cent bins). I’m surprised to be honest; it looks like the owner really went to town to improve the place since my negative review last year. It’s not a perfect store, but its a good place to get some cheap runs and key books at a discount. This place still does not bag and board comics; supplies are still minimum at this shop too, but you can’t beat the prices and quality of the discount area here. Its very much improved… nice work.

I live all the way out in Buckeye, and although there are closer comic shops, none are better. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and always goes out of their way to help or recommend titles you may like. What sets them over the top for me is that they frequently participate in charity events in the industry. They have a big heart and it shows.

A very friendly staff and extremely helpful. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the floor the staff will go out of their way to find it for you.
I want to give five stars, but the only thing holding back is it can be difficult to locate what you are looking for. Other than that I would pay a visit to this place.

Let me start off by saying I’m a huge comic book fan & have always loved mom n pop type stores that focus on the consumer unlike atomic comics did. With that said I decided to check Jesse James comics out, the store was a mess, the comics I was searching for were scattered all over the store; it was like trying to find Waldo. I decided to ask for help, there’s a toy shop that’s connected to the comic store so I thought it was the same store and asked the attendee where I could find a comic. He was way to busy playing a transformers game to help so he shouted across the store for help :-/​finally I was pointed out to a poorly stalked dead pool section. I still bought a comic book that retailed 29.99 just to show I was a paying customer. I hope this store thrives & keeps its loyal customers but unfortunately they lost this avid comic buyer

JJ’s Comics is an awesome little shop. Nicely priced top-​loaders and a table full of «The Walking Dead» comics make this place my go-​to spot. Not a huge MTG card collection, but they have boosters and accessories.
The asian lady at the counter is super friendy and recognized us the second time we were in the shop.

This store is amazing and one of my favorite comic book shops in the Valley. The owner (Jesse James) is a fantastic person just to sit and talk to and his store is very warm and inviting. After Spazdog Comics closed down, I was searching for another comic store to call my own and I stumbled upon this store on day with my friend Joshua. We were met with open arms and the people have become more like family to me now.
Jesse James Comics has become a staple in the local comic book scene here in Arizona. His knowledgeable staff can help you out with your comic book needs. He as large events every so often that attract alot of local independent and professional artists and writers from around the Valley, state and out-​of-​state. Jesse also organizes Doodle Nights where people can come and draw and chart with other artists. The store also has large card tournaments for Pokemon and Magic. It also sells collectables and action figures.
Jesse James Comics prices are very reasonable and he even has discount comics as well, so you get more bang for your buck. Come by Jesse James Comics and prepare for a memorable experience.

Kind of bummed out that this place doesn’t have better rating.
I have been to quite a few comic shops and granted this isn’t the nicest or most organized in the valley but the staff is pretty amazing. Maxine is always so sweet and knowledgeable about the products she sells. Just adore that lady!!!
This kids come here to play their CCGs and they always have a great time and get some reading in between matches…
Prices for everything here are very reasonable.
Lots of little knickknacks. Great place to get some shopping in for the boys (or maybe girls too) in your life!

I haven’t had a comic home since Atomics closed up, but I was on the hunt for a sold out issue and this was 9^th place I called, losing hope I would find no Obi Wan for help. But they had a copy, we’re amazing nice on phone as I got lost searching for them.
Go in store and it’s loaded with all the goodness that other stores also were out if or did not carry. Wall to wall. Check em out, I just might have a new home also!

Comics, comics, wall-​to-​wall comics!
Not only do they have every comic imaginable, they sell comics by local artist. Jesse Criscone, the owner, is an amazing guy that will have a real conversation with you. He also donated comics for an exhibition so kids can enjoy free comics.
