Joon Choi, MD

First OBGYN I’ve been to just for a regular checkup and he was amazing! I had gone to another doctor (family doctor) about 2 months ago and she did a Pap smear on me. When I told Dr. Choi that she did it he was surprised. Not only that but she also told me that I may have a HPV and he said she couldn’t have told me if I did or not without having my results. So she basically scared me for no reason. Dr. Choi told me everything I wanted to know that she didn’t even know how to do or was unsure about the results. Definitely going to be changing her.
His staff is also amazing! They’re super kind and are happy to answer any questions you may have. They don’t have attitude like others I’ve come across.
Note: I believe as of July (since he told me next month they won’t be accepting my insurance) they’ll only be accepting Regal, Lakeside, and Eeastland.

My previous OB/​Gyne dropped me and all her HMO patients so I switched over to Dr. Choi. He was highly recommended by my coworkers and I am mighty glad I picked him. I started seeing him when I got pregnant and my first visit was to confirm my pregnancy. I now have a 5 week old baby and I am so thankful that my pregnancy went well under Dr. Choi’s care. I am what they call «advanced age» or simply put, old… teehee! I had a c-​section and it went very well and very fast. Dr. Choi was in and out of the OR in 24 minutes. I wasn’t counting the minutes during surgery but one of the nurses told me. Also, during my recovery time at the hospital, my nurse checked my incision and told me it was a clean cut. When I told her that Dr. Choi was my OB, she told me that Dr. Choi always does a clean cut. I’m so glad that the hospital staff thinks highly of him too.
If you are looking for an OB/​Gyne, go to Dr. Choi. He is quick and efficient.

I started seeing Dr. Choi for total ob care and I would recommend him to all my family and friends. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to transfer care but without a doubt he is an amazing doctor, his staff is great and the office is extremely clean! Thank you Dr. Choi!!!

There have been a lot of instances where I had to page him on emergency basis and every time it took less than 2 minutes for him to get back to me and provide all the necessary information to deal with my situation
With my 4^th baby who was born only 3 days ago I had a life threatening complication and while in the hospital all night he did not go home rather waited to make sure I was doing ok and he was able to save my life and my baby’s life
I am so thankful and blessed I am home with my family for Christmas and part of it had to do with Dr Choi being so professional and on top of everything that is required from a caring and knowledgable physician.

Dr. Choi delivered my daughter 18 years ago. I never thought that I would see him again after 18 years but this time, on a rather urgent and serious situation. When I had to pick a gynecologist from my HMO roster, I was relieved that Dr. Choi was on the list. I went to see him to discuss the course of treatment for my medical issues. He was very keen and open minded to my questions. We had difference on the approach on how I would prefer things done. In the end, he listened to my concern because «he regarded me as a patient who needs care and treatment.» Surgery was performed by Dr. Choi; it was a blessing that it was done because there was an underlying situation that was discovered which he took care of, as well. He went to see me the following day at the hospital and gave me a thorough explanation of the surgery and the unexpected issues that came up as he was performing the surgery. He gave me an assurance that «I will be fine!» What an emotional journey for me. I am so grateful that Dr. Choi was the person to be with me in this journey. He has that distinct charismatic demeanor and such a well maintained composure that just makes you feel that «everything will be ok!» Thank you so much for your gift and talent, Dr. Choi. You are truly a blessing !

Dr. Choi is the best OB Gynecologist. He saved my ovaries when I had hysterectomy and endometriosis. I am recovering well from the surgery and very pleased with his expertise. His clinic is very nice, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I am blessed to have the best doctor and hospital (Glendale Adventist Medical Center).

I was very skeptical about having a male gynecologist after a couple of bad experience in the past, but Dr. Choi was great. He’s a keeper! He was informative, thorough in his explanations and pleasant and good bedside manner which is a must for me with doctors. The office staff seemed well organized and the wait time wasn’t long.

I dont know what all these people are talking about. …this Dr treated me like crap… I went to him, when my period lasted over 17 days. it was an urgent appointment, all he did was an ultrasound & biopsy .gave me an appointment 12 days later… only to try to convince me to take hormonal therapy… which he knew I couldn’t, due to other health issues.& his next thing was…“well medicine is not definitive”…well yes I understand but at this point I was bleeding for 38 days… he is rude. sarcastic & all he cares about was the authorization from insurance, which conveniently his staff forget to submit. I dont think, if it was his wife or daughter or mother… he would wait to solve the problem. (which to this day I didn’t know what it was from him)…thank God for 2^nd opinions… i went to another Dr & he explained everything to me. I am having surgery next week. Dr. Choi was comparing my blood to his… saying «your blood count is better than mine»…really Dr… you took an oath to protect people’s health! !!! Yet you gambled with my healt… jis words were «lets hope the bleeding stops» really! !!! Horrible Dr from hell… I have been bleeding for 40 days… stick to your laser vaginal rejuvenation & other laser treatments… horrible. horrible. Horrible. Staff sucks too.rude. minus stars.

I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with horrible doctors, so it was SUCH a relief when I came to Dr. Choi.
I had been looking for a new doctor and my friend gave me such a great review of this place. I was not disappointed.
The office is very clean and professional and I felt very comfortable from the moment I walked in. The staff is exceptional. They’re all very friendly, attentive and know what they’re doing.
Dr. Choi took great care of me and really knows his stuff. I usually ask a lot of questions and feel like I’m rushed out, but he really took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and had all my questions answered.
I couldn’t be a more pleased patient! Definitely keeping him as my permanent doctor and would definitely recommend him to everyone I know.

For my mom’s 60^th birthday and my upcoming wedding, I bought her several session of Ultherapy because Dr. Choi is one of the only M.D.‘s that are licensed to perform this treatment. And wow, did her face look amazing!!! I was wary of her getting any type of Botox or surgical treatment for her so this new non-​surgical, natural technology to tighten skin was a perfect gift. I wish I took before photos but her face was noticeably devoid of wrinkles. Also, Dr. Choi is so professional, very knowledgable, and a complete expert at everything he does. I would totally recommend him as an Ob/​gyn and for cosmetic treatments such a Ultherapy!

Dr. Choi and his staff are just great! I always receive excellent care, they’re very friendly, courteous, and despite the fact that this office is constantly busy, the doctor takes his time with me and answers all my questions. I would definitely recommend patients to this practice!

Dr. Choi is the best!!! My sister delivered both of her children with him, I did my first child and am pregnant with my second one. He is the best!!! I think the stupid review below by Anna is just ridiculous. He is a professional and I visit their office for routine check up as well and ALL his patients what kind of work ethic Dr. Choi has. You can’t make an «assumption» by just being withy your friend at the delivery room. Your unreasonable review does not make any sense.

This guy is bad ass. Keep in mind we had twins.
MY wife and I went to the doctor and was told «You must go into the hospital today because your babies need to come out soon. one problem, my wife’s regular doctor was on vacation so they assigned us Dr. Joon Choi.
It went down like this… Wife was scheduled for delivery at 5:00PM…They had me come into the delivery room at 5:15 PM. and by 5:17pm Dr. Choi pulled out both girls. They were one minute apart life has never been the same since, and I mean that in a good way.
Dr. Choi came into where they keep all the newborns and shuck my hand and congratulated me. Most Dr’s treat you like a number, but not this guy.
