The place was a pigsty and the woman who(barely) greeted me was very unprofessional. I decided to try it because I assumed they had experience altering uniforms– being across the street from Luke AFB. I walked in to see a lady eating chicken wings with her bare feet propped up on a stool. I thought maybe she forgot to lock the door and I had interrupted lunch hour– and I offered to come back. Not a big deal– common in a small business right? But most people would wrap lunch up for a moment and help the customer… She said she would be finished soon and didn’t move to assist me. So I stood there waiting for her to either A. put the wings aside and wipe her hands; B. get up and walk to the counter to greet me and review my clothes; C. Instruct me to a dressing room to try my garment on… She just sat there eating. I had my dress that needed tailoring in my hand, and between bites she asked«what you got.» I said I was there to get my dress altered– and in turn was shouted at– because how would she know what she was supposed to do with my dress unless I was wearing it for her to see? Apparently I was doing something wrong by not wearing my gown into the store? Or maybe she was only shouting at me because she was still 10 feet away from the counter sitting with her feet up knawing on her wings. She barked at me to go in the changing room and she would be finished with lunch in a few minutes. Whatever the case– I was shocked to be treated that way by a business owner– plus I really didn’t want wing sauce on my dress, so I found another seamstress.

After being turned down by another shop(see my Unilocal review of Ale Maria’s) I decided to try Kim’s. I’m so happy I did. I needed two pairs of pants hemmed. I dropped them off on a Thursday evening. I wasn’t in a rush to get them, so when she told me it would NEXT Friday I wasn’t upset, but I was a little surprised it would take that long. But like I said, I wasn’t in a rush. Fast forward to Saturday morning(two days later). I get a phone call from Kim’s letting me know my pants are done! Two day. $ 20. I couldn’t have asked for more. Oh, and the pants are perfect.

The little old lady that does the alternation is so cute and sweet. She reminds me of my grandma. This place reminds me of the oversea tailor shops. I got two pairs of pants shortened. Yes, I am vertically challenged. I brought them in on a Friday, she asked me when I needed them. I was not in a rush, so I told her when you can get them done. She said Wed. anytime. They fit perfect now… :)
