It’s a small cozy restaurant with a nice house feeling. It’s a cool low key spot me and my girlfriend always come back. Food is good, comes out quick, and won’t hurt your wallet. Love this little place.

The jap chae I ordered was delicious and the service was friendly, but the price was much too high. One take out order of jap chae was $ 15(tax included). There was hardly any meat in the dish, yet it cost so much. To be fair, they added complimentary kimchi and two other Korean small bites. However, I’d rather pay a fair price for the food I ordered and not have to pay more for add ons I didn’t want.

Really nice family in this hole in the wall. Son speaks English and takes phone orders, which is good as the phone’s ringing off the hook. Place is tiny, and if we came just a tad later we wouldn’t have been able to sit down. Parking lot is also puny but the dad was nice enough to direct traffic and even close the door so that we could pass through the alley with he giant minivan. The mom saw that to take a call and even kept my soup nice and hot for me. If you’re missing home cooked Korean food this is your go to. Our new go-to away from Ktown. Me I had everything I like — ddukboki, roe soup, dol sot bibimbap. Mmm

I’ve been here twice for the lunch special. I really enjoyed both times. Parking can be a bit tricky but I’ve been lucky to find the last spot twice. Great for a Korean spot in Glendale!

So close to my abode and very friendly service with good quality food. My favorite mainstay is the spicy soon tofu. The broth is the perfect consistency and I love the variety of ban chan they offer. It’s definitely and mom and pop type of establishment with limited parking so I come at 11:00 am so that I can get good back lot parking. There’s no beer or wine, just soda and tea. I intend to try everything on the menu to see what’s my favorite but so far, this is my go-to place for soon tofu when I don’t feel like venturing into Koreatown.

hole in the wall mom and pop korean restaurant in glendale. food was decent, and the feeling inside is homey. got gal bi tang which comes in a plastic blue bowl. thick soup with 2 pieces of pork bones with some meat on it. has some clear noodles and an egg dropped in. side dishes were decent: kimchi, bean sprouts, shredded radish, fish cake, egg pancake. friends got gal kooksu which is noodle soup and stone pot bibimbap. both looked pretty good! friendly service. small place, about 7 – 8 tables and about 5 parking spaces in the back. very homey.

This place has delicious Korean food. It feels like you walked into someone’s home with their humble staff. I got the omelette rice which was AMAZING! The side dishes come with every meal. This meal totally hit the spot. I no longer have to drive to K-Town to get Korean BBQ. Definitely coming back here soon.

I miss my parents cooking I am full Korean and this place hits the spot. This hidden jewel is one of the best places to go when you have family, friends in town and they want s really good home cooked meal I laugh and take hem here! The prices are a little high but hey it’s so worth it. Kimchi soup, galbi are hair a few of my favs but if I had the money I would like to try everything haha maybe every time I go I should try something new and not stick with the normal thing I go with. They have street parking or a small little parking spot in the back. Thank you for your wonderful food!

Nice little hole on the wall family restaurant. I was craving some soup this weekend. Decided to come in and give it a try. Got my dumplings soup and their cold noodles were tasty. Nice touch of spice. Their side dishes were pretty good too. Definitely will be coming here often.

So nice to have a local Korean restaurant around when we’re too lazy to make the drive out to Ktown. I order the Yyuk kkae jang(spicy beef soup) 90% of the time but enjoy all their soups and bibim naeng myun. Banchans are always good and friendly service every time we come. Just don’t come too close to closing time, they are pretty prompt about closing at 9:30 and may turn you away if you come 10 mins before close. Been coming since they opened almost 20 years ago, and still going at least every two weeks :)

I’ve only had takeout from this place and found it to be more than decent. My parents eat here regularly so they like it a lot. I had the kalbi and the bulgogi. The kalbi was good and had a good smoky flavor. I liked it. The bulgogi had some moistness to it and also had good flavor. Nothing worse than dry bulgogi. The banchan they packed in a separate container consisted of bean sprouts, kimchee, egg pancake and fish cake. Good food, decent prices. No real complaints from me. Seems like a family run establishment. That’s always a plus. Not a lot of parking and the space inside the restaurant is limited as well. Parking on the street might have be the right move. I would definitely go back and try some other menu items.

Glendale has a ‘hole in the wall’ Korean restaurant that serves AWESOME Korean food. Everything we’ve tried so far is awesome. At least now I have choices as far as Korean food in Glendale. I Love Tofu &BBQ and Kim’s Kitchen!

Good, reasonably priced Korean food, with very fast, efficient, and friendly service. I had Dolsot Bibimbap with beef. It was exactly what I expect, except the Nurungji that formed was possibly the best I’ve ever had. It wasn’t burned anywhere, yet formed a perfect, crisp crust. Superb! My dining partner ordered Kalbitang(beef rib bone soup), which was very good(but didn’t have green onion as it often does). Overall, a good experience.

I just moved to Glendale, CA and it is was a great find to find this Korean home cooking restaurant so close to my apartment. I have been there three times already, and it has not disappointed! The BiBimBap in hot stone is the best if you are dining alone.

What a super hole in the wall Korean restaurant on a fairly busy street that you will probably drive right by if you don’t pay attention! Now I am a big fan of these types of restaurants just because I know that 99% of the time they are going to be good. Just take a look at Mexican food places for example; almost all of them are better than your average chain restaurant. My gf and I came here on a Saturday night since she was craving some Korean cold noodles. After carefully following the navigation, we arrived at the location but as we turned into the parking lot it was TINY! Only about 4 – 5 cars can fit inside so we had to back out into the road and find parking on the street. This is what I would advise you doing since it is not worth the trouble and headache. It was a busy dinner service and luckily we got a table all to ourselves. I would say that there are around only half a dozen or so tables so you can expect this place to get packed quickly especially since it’s the only decent Korean food around. The menu is very easy, only on one laminated sheet. After browsing the menu, we quickly decided on getting the cold noodles, large spicy pork and a fried rice egg omelet. The banchan that was included was very delicious! Nothing too extravagant but just simple and down to earth; I appreciate this simplicity since that means I actually finish the banchan and don’t feel wasteful. In fact, I ended up asking for seconds! The employees are very friendly and since it is a family business, you can expect it to be much more genuine than chain restaurants. The cold noodles were good, what stood out was the soup base. Served not too chilled, I would have liked to have some ice in there to make it even colder. The spicy pork was decent. I had better at other places but it does its job. The egg omelet was HUGE! I only ate about half of it which was a blessing in disguise since I ate it the next day for breakfast. Bottom line, come here and experience some great authentic food!

Kim’s kitchen feels like eating at a korean auntie’s house. PARKING: Tiny lot — try street. FOOD: –Basically anything is pretty good here. I personally wouldn’t order a tofu bowl because I know other places specialize in it, but if you’re looking for a swiss army knife type Korean restaurant, Kim’s Kitchen is for you. –I personally like the knife cut noodles. Chewy noodles with a light but rich(in flavor) broth. –Their ban chan selection is decent considering the size of this place — literally just one room! SERVICE: So kind and attentive. Can’t ask for much more than this in a local spot! Default!

After eating burgers and fried chicken, sometimes you simply just want some rice and meat. I’m so happy to have this place nearby. They have bugolgi and that cold noodle soup(I’m not even going to try to spell the proper word for it). Two of my favorite korean foods. Both times I’ve ordered food to go, and it’s always fairly quick. They deconstruct the soup so you can throw it together when you get home. When I got the bugolgi, I found they threw in some banchan in there for me too. PARKING: Street and small lot behind the shop.

When in need of some good olé Korean comfort food, Kim’s will provide! :D This is a tiny restaurant in Glendale with(surprisingly) their own parking lot that may probably fit up to 4 – 5 cars. What I got: Mool Neng Myun(buckwheat noodles in cold tangy broth) Noodles were thin and chewy like they’re supposed to be(or what I think they’re supposed to be), broth was ice cold like we all agree that they’re supposed to be, portion was generous and comes with boiled egg and thinly sliced radishes. Good for some added crunch to the meal~! Kalgooksoo(Knife noodles with hot chicken broth) The temperature of the broth didn’t overcook the noodles, so that’s a plus in my book! Noodles had just the right amount of chewiness. Broth was great. Hearty, not too salty nor bland. Portion was large. Kimchi Fried Rice. Saved the best for last! AMAZING. No, it’s not just kimchi«fried rice». It’s GREAT fried rice. They didn’t skimp on the ingredients and definitely didn’t with the portion either. Their style of the fried rice is truly like what your korean friend’s grandmother will make you when you’re over. It’s good for the soul ;-) Also, the server was friendly. She’s middle-aged. I emphasize this because when you live in Koreatown(I have so for pretty much all of my 20-something years), we’re not high up there in ranking when it comes to customer service. Anyway, thank you ajuma if you’re reading!
