Kokos Lock & Key

So I called this place to see if they make copies of my car key, the lady said she was able to so I chose to make my way there. I understand that this shop closes @ 6pm so I let the lady know that I was on my way there. I got there @ 5:55, I see that they closed EARLY for some reason. I see this old lady walk right by me, & if I can match a face with the voice I heard over the phone, I’m pretty sure that was her bc she gave me this look like, ‘tough luck’. Whatever, maybe a dumb assumption but if u hear u might get some business @ a key copy place, u should honor ur business hours. It doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to copy a key.

I really like this place, they know their stuff. They have every key imaginable and also have taught me a few things, like, the reason that fake Schlage key won’t work, how I can’t use a Quikset blank for some original keys etc. When you have to jiggle the heck out of your key to get in your house, you don’t need WD40, you need the proper blank! They take cash or check so that’s fine. They have always been very nice to me, including today when I got there before the 9:00 opening time and someone was already there to accept business. No credit cards but was able to cut my keys and have them ready before I could walk back from the ATM next door.

I would give a Zero star if I could. The lady quoted me $ 50 for a Home key copy that I got for $ 5 at Anawalt’s in NoHo. I am never going back. Since they only take cash, I think she quotes high, pockets some money and puts minimum down on the books. «Class Act»
Only go there if the price seems right, otherwise, you are being played.

They carry keys that home depot and other stores don’t. it took less than 10 seconds to duplicate a key. Its the ultimate key & lock store. I don’t really get why people say this place is expensive, it costs just 4 $

Don’t bother going here. The prices for colorful keys are outrageous; and the store associate claimed there was no way to make copies of the two small «made in China» keys I had. Really? I just had them duplicated at Industrial Lock and Security in El Segundo — wish I’d waited to return there — and will need to go back there now, after all. Another good locksmith is California Lock and Safe in Highland Park. However, the keys were cut right and worked. If you want limited and costly selection, served up with a defensive attitude, by all means go to to Koko’s. :/

Great customer service. The woman that helped me made a copy of my keys for me and kept helping me till it worked on my car. Wish they were a lot cheaper.

These are very angry people. First clue was watching the way they treated the guy in front of me when they told him in a very rude way look if you don’t like our prices go to Virgil’s. Then when I tried to tell them the situation with my deadbolt they kept telling me that I was wrong which eventually turned into a heated conversation to the point where they kicked me out and the man there literally almost wanted to have a fistfight with me. Amazing. I will never go back to this place. It’s a wonder that they are still in business with the way they treated me. By the way, I fixed the bolt myself proving I was correct after they repeatedly tried to tell me how wrong I was. Not only are they rude, they’re arrogant and not very smart. Needless to say I would not recommend this establishment!

Great rapid fast service. They also laser cut car keys for really cheap where dealerships charge 3 times the price. Not sure about the other reviews but I was blown away by the prices, service, and product availability by them.

I’ve only made keys here so I don’t know how great this place is as a whole, but hot damn they can make a key quick, at a super cheap price too. The service was much more efficient than had I gone into a Home Depot or a Lowes near by.

We had a key that broke inside the lock and went to Koko’s for help. Since we wanted to try and fix it ourselves, Koko gave us a tip on how to go about doing this. Unfortunately, we didn’t have all the right tools and skills, so we were not successful. Koko came over as soon as the shop closed and was able to not only fix it, but made us a new key from his truck. He was very reasonable, professional, and kind. We’ll be using Koko’s from now on. Thanks Koko.

I have done business with Koko’s for over 12 years and in all this time he has always been helpful & honest. He makes recommendations which save you money. He re-​keyed my home instead of trying to sell me new locks. He explained how the older locks and hinges at my home where very expensive and changing them would not benefit me.
I give my highest recommend for Koko’s excellent work ethic.

This establishment has terrible customer service. I lived at Monterey Islands in Glendale and went by there to have some keys cut. It was near closing and the older gentleman was very rude. I will be letting the other residents know how I was treated. Its a shame you cant get good service these days. Shame on Kokos lock and key

Lost keys to a lock box and brought it into Koco’s…they are not only fantastic at what they do but an awesome husband and wife run operation, and people that you can trust! I will definitely be back!

they don’t take cash which always annoys me. they had all the keys I needed including one to enter my security gate. it was expensive though, $ 18 for the security key. very old skool atmosphere, very european.

I needed a key copied over the weekend, and as we were on our way to Virgil’s to get it done we saw Koko’s. We figured that it specialized in keys, so why not try it first? I got out of the car and my husband said he’d look for parking. I entered the shop, showed the owner the key, and in less than a minute it was copied. I quickly paid the $ 3 or so, and by the time I was out of the shop my husband had just circled the block once. I tested the key today, and it works better than the old one. I’ll definitely return to Koko’s!!!

Didn’t want to risk going into Home Depot and wait for 20 minutes before i can walk outta there with a copy of a key. so i looked this place up. its pretty cool, lots of designer keys too.
its a bit pricier than Home Depot i think, cuz i paid nearly $ 5 for 2 copies… and they weren;t even designer keys.
but, i was in and outta there i less than 5 minutes.
