Ryan is one of the most standup dudes in the business. I have nothing but good things to say about him. Best prices in town and he’s always willing to go the extra mile for you. I highly recommend Lightstone for your rental needs.

Ryan is great — responsive, fair pricing (actually under market which is a bonus), fantastic attitude, reliable. The total package! Gear has always been exactly what we need and functioning at top notch.

Ryan is the man. He knows his stuff and is always in a good vibe. Great guy, and very knowledgeable about his camera equipment.
I am an amateur photographer so he helps out a lot when I go in and tell him what I plan on shooting. From portraits to landscapes, he is a great guy for information and I highly recommend him to everyone wanting to try out equipment before buying or for anyone doing a big job from videos to photography.

Oh my goodness… I almost don’t want to tell you how good these guys are because I want all their awesome gear to myself ;) Seriously though, I literally followed the company founder Ryan from his previous job at another rental company, because he was so knowledgeable, personable and on the money while working over there.
Now that he owns this place, he’s been able apply his style of customer service to an entire operation, got a great manager Chris working with him, among others. Their gear packaging, recommendations, pricing are as rock solid as ever.
They are solid rental businessmen, but they are truly talented filmmakers-​gearheads themselves first, which helps them relate well to big studio and indie clients. Highly recommended for professional media production crews needing to gear up for blockbuster theatricals or to shoot a web series. Go for it.

Ryan really is the best. He has years of experience with his equipment and takes time to explain every detail to a new costumer. He was extremely accommodating with our schedule. We had a last minute request and he waited for us after closing hours to pick up, and took time to teach about the jib and motorized head we needed.

Ryan at Lightstone is the best. We rented lights and a dolly for a last minute shoot and his prices are amazing equipment in great shape and they are all such nice guys. This will be my rental house from now on!

Lightstone saved our production date. When our equipment rental fell through last-​minute just before the shoot weekend, I called every rental house in LA to no avail. Finally, someone gave me Lightstone’s name, and not only did they have exactly what I needed, they had it for half the price.
What’s more, no one from my team could make it out to Glendale before closing hours and they weren’t open the following day, but Ryan made a special trip in the next morning to get me the gear. I couldn’t believe it.
Really great customer service and responsiveness. This is the kind of company I want to do business with.

Ryan and Lightstone are simply amazing. Top notch equipment. A+ service. Great prices. Doesn’t try to sell or rent you crap you don’t need, but instead finds tools that will assist in smooth and easy productions.

Lightstone Rentals is awesome all around. I’ve been renting from them for a couple months now and could not be happier. I actually drive up from southern Orange County to rent there and it is totally worth the drive. Here is why:
Great rates (seriously – great rates) for sure but it’s more than just the great rates. Lightstone is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the equipment they rent out. If there is something about the equipment you’re not sure about – or if you’ve never worked with a piece of equipment before, Ryan takes the time to show you how to use it. And if by some chance Ryan doesn’t have the equipment you need, he’ll go out of his way to find it for you – or he will at least point you in the right direction. In my experience, few rental houses have been as accommodating.
Another quality I like: If you tell Ryan a little about the project you’re working on – he’ll offer up different suggestions and solutions to problems you might have. It’s very apparent he sincerely has your best interest in mind – and he has the experience to really help you.
Also, for my production company, attitude is everything – and that includes the attitude of the vendors I work with. As I said, I don’t mind driving from Orange County to rent from LIghtstone because Ryan’s attitude is awesome. He’s a hard worker and will go out of his way to make your rental experience a pleasant one.
This might seem over the top to some people but I sincerely mean what I say.. I’ve worked with numerous rental houses (even outside of CA) and have rarely had such a great experience.
