They are amazing! they did my wedding and my sisters wedding. I fell in love with these chair covers and we could not fit them in our budget but when I got to the venue the chair covers are there Henrick threw them in as a gift he was so accommodating and easy to work with and their prices are amazing! I see all these bad reviews that’s unfortunate because we received excellent service.

I used Mellanie for my wedding 2 weeks ago. I rented 160 silver Chivari chairs and a cake stand. Their prices were great! I worked with Robert, he was very helpful and they delivered and picked up as promised the day of the wedding. Will definitely use them for any future party rentals needed and I recommend them :-)

Great prices yes, services… What service??? I can’t seem to get a hold of them. I have been trying for months by e-​mail & phone. I talked to some guy a few times with a thick accent who apparently only knows how to say one phrase, «Sorry, we are closed please call back.» Ah, sorry dude a bride can only hear that so many times before she looses interest in the company. One thing is for sure, customer service skills are seriously lacking. =(

I found Mellanie Party Design online and decided to rent a dance floor from them for my wedding because of their very reasonable pricing. I contacted them in March of 2014, signed a contract and went on my way. As my August 30^th wedding approached, I called them to confirm my final payment on the dance floor and then informed me that they could not find my initial invoice. After calling them multiple times (yes I am the bride) to find out if they eventually found my invoice, I then let my planner take over.
Henrik accused us of not ever signing a contract when in fact we had and my planner sent him the invoice showing that both parties had signed it in March. He was BEYOND rude and unaccommodating, saying to our planner «Don’t push me» and «Don’t play hard ball with me» when in fact he and his company were at fault for losing the contract. He did not follow up with my planner to help us find a dance floor when he and his business were in the wrong, he did not apologize and try to find a solution and we were 2 days until the wedding. As you can imagine as a bride, this was a panic moment for me.
This vendor exhibited NO professionalism and they were not willing to help find a solution even though they were at fault. I would not recommend anyone use this company for a rental. Clearly, you get what you pay for… or what you don’t pay for.

Seriously, I am so happy I found Mellanie Party Design. I was so stressed because I had to let our original choice for rentals go because of horrible communication and lack of professionalism (see my review for Vigens Rentals), but then I found Mellanie. It was a little intimidating meeting with Henrick because he is a very confident and straight forward guy. Because of what had happened with my previous vendor I had my guard up but Henrick kept reassuring me that he would take care of everything for an unbelievable price. He worked with our budget, giving us many options for our ceiling drapery and we agreed on one that fit our theme and budget at the same time. When the wedding drew closer, I started to get fearful of them adding surprise charges and issues with installation, but I was stressing for no reason. We got permission from our reception venue to install the ceiling drapery the night before and to deliver all the chairs, tables, bar etc, and everything went as planned without a hitch. His staff really knows what they are doing. The chairs for my ceremony arrived on time and looked beautiful. I did not get to see anything before hand, so when I walked down the aisle it was just as I imagined, maybe better. When we finally got to the reception, I was extremely impressed. The drapery worked great with our warehouse wedding theme and the lights bounced off of them beautifully just as Henrick had told us it would. We saved tons of money going with Mellanie Rentals and Party design and we didn’t have to sacrifice quality. I would definitely recommend using this company. When I saw only a few stars it scared me to hire them. When I read the reviews the bad ones were from people that didn’t even do business with them. I’m so glad I ignored the stars because my venue looked amazing! When I walked in I was speechless. It’s hard to impress my hubby he was definitely impressed. They did an amazing job. Their prices are very low compare to other vendors. Don’t overlook this vendor. You’ll get a great deal and you’ll have an amazing wedding.

I used this company for my wedding and my wedding was beautiful. I delt with Henrik, he provided everything he promised. He was easy to work with and was available to me every time I called him. I have recommended him to 3 other people who have used him with great success.

GORGEOUS WORK! This review is long overdue! Henrick and his team definitely exceeded our expectations taking care of the ballroom décor for our holiday party in December! For a couple of years I walked by Mellanie Design’s showroom during my many trips to downtown LA. When planning our company’s 2012 Holiday Dinner Dance I decided to see if they would be a viable option. I called for an estimate and their prices were very competitive. I scheduled an appointment with Henrick to come meet me at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles (where we’d be hosting our event) so that he could take a look at the ballroom and work with me on design options. Henrick arrived to the hotel as agreed and gave me a fantastic deal. He is creative and his vision was spot on to what I wanted. I have worked in the event planning industry for years and could tell he was a seasoned design pro! I contracted Mellanie Design for the rental of 400 gold chivari chairs with ivory cushions (not commonly included with other vendors), 5 decorative trees for the foyer, twinkle lighting for the ballroom ceiling, and pipe and drape for the entirety of the room (428ft x 15ft). Henrick was very reasonable as far as pricing and professional to work with; he followed through and just did an exceptional job. I have to say that after reading some of the reviews on Unilocal I was a bit concerned and skeptic but I voiced my concerns with him and he reassured me I would not be disappointed. I gave him a chance and can honestly say, hands down, I made the right decision! The morning of our event his crew arrived at the hotel early and got straight to it! I was impressed at their efficiency in the setup. Henrick arrived later to work with them and finalized a few details with me. He was very sweet and put up with my pickiness :)Once everything was done, the ballroom looked absolutely gorgeous! Our guests were stunned and many said it was breathtaking! One of our employees even told me she felt like she’d walked into «heaven». Our employees had a blast and we got many compliments on the décor. The morning after our event I walked down to the ballroom to pack some items and ran into his crew taking care of the strike down first thing and I left without a worry. I know this made the hotel staff very happy as well. I just want to express my gratitude once again to Henrick and I can honestly say I can vouch for his work. It was a pleasure working with him and I truly am grateful for the fantastic service I received. I know I have high standards and our events can be quite demanding but I am happy to say I have found a vendor for my event planning repertoire. I’ll definitely call Henrick come time to plan my next event.

I am surprised to see bad reviews for this business. Henrik did my wedding and he also helped with functions and events I did at my house. He has a great selection of items and his prices are very competitive given what I have seen with other party rental providers in the industry. Henrik is very flexible and is willing to go out of his way to handle all your needs. For my wedding, he made special couches, white leather with lights on the inside so the couches were lit during the outdoor reception. The end result was amazing and the guests were very happy with the ambiance and the layout. You need to sit down with Henrik and he’ll show you everything. He even has pictures of all the events he worked on. Check those out. You’ll see what kind of work he has done and is willing to do. I highly recommend Henrik. He is a good man. Most of all, he is trustworthy.

Yes, unprofessional. They also go by Mellanie Party Rental. I have been communicating with an unidentified individual via email asking about products and services. The last email stated «Call to make an appointment.» So I did. I called twice and left a message the second time I called. No one picks up the phone apparently. I did not get a call until the next day. They call me at work when I had left my personal number. Spoke to Henry (or Henrik according to the first reviewer) and he said «Are you sure you’re coming?» What?! Seriously? I responded, «Yes, that is why I called and left a message saying I want an appointment for this day and time.» He said «Ok, just checking because we’re busy and if you don’t show up…» I told my fiancé about the phone call and he was pissed off. So I called back 30 minutes later to cancel the appointment. Henry picked up the phone and I said, «I want to cancel my appointment because of your poor customer service.» He said, «Ok thank you.» Potential customers, take your business elsewhere. With that type of service for merely making an appointment?! I will not trust them for my special day. And I just created this account just to leave this review.

Unprofessional! I called these people because their prices are super low! Well now I know why. I called for a quote and I spoke to Henrik. He said they needed exact numbers for the draping and to email him. I emailed him the next morning. Three days went by and nothing. I called him back and he said he hadn’t seen my email and he would look for it and email me back. I received an email a day later stating that he had just seen my email and either him or someone else would call me the next day and that he didn’t call sooner cause he was extremely busy. Never heard from him or anyone else. No email no call no nothing! Well if you’re really that busy, which I highly doubt, I will take my money elsewhere!

Run Away as fast as you can to any other party rental business. there are hundreds in Glendale. Hired this company to do the rentals for my wedding earlier this year and it seemed like it was too good to be true… their rentals were in great shape and his prices affordable. However, come the day of the wedding. not only does he hassle me about the time of delivery but the products he delivers is not what is presented to you in the showroom. (Nonstop complaints from my guests about how flat the seat cushions were). Then after the event, in order to make some money off my security deposit, he claims that chairs were broken but cannot produce said chair for me to see for myself. Last time I checked, it was a wedding not a frat party where chairs get tossed around and broken. Dishonest and unprofessional… would not do business again.
