Nys is the best! Good football games and nice families! It is always great to see the games and hanging out with everyone! I don’t have children, but I support my friends who do! Go Nathan Casarez fanatics

NYS was a complete blessing for my daughter and our family! She’s been in the volleyball program since she was 9 and eagerly looked forward to playing every season. Now that she’s older, she’s realizing that she can take the skills she’s learned, and apply it to high school sports, and in life, as well. Our family really bonded over the «volleyball life» and YES, I eventually ended up coaching her team! At first, I was that parent trying to point out the «have not’s» and aim my spotlight at the things NYS «should provide». But something told me (this is not about you) this was an opportunity to make an impact in the life of a child, even someone else’s child, at that. As I reflect on what my daughter experienced at NYS, I realize there are much bigger things to be thankful for. Like, the memories, the friendships, and the love of a sport she would’ve easily just been a spectator to/​for. Instead, she became an athlete, a participant, a teammate, and a friend. The blessings came through lessons of humility, grace, sportsmanship, self esteem, respect, teamwork, leadership,… etc. I’m glad I got to experience this with my daughter! Thank you NYS!

We love NYS! They have knowledgeable and helpful staff. My 5 year old had a blast playing soccer. I would recommend them to anyone in the northwest valley! Thank you for all you do for our kids and the community!

I love NYS!!! They have always been a great organization to be apart of.
My son was 5 years old he started his 1^st tackle season with the Cowboys in NYS. We did Tackle Football Fall, Winter and Spring with NYS till he was about 9 – 10 years old (that’s when the hits get harder) Then we started doing Winter and Spring till he was 15 and started high school. We’ve never had ANY issues at all with NYS. We also tried Pop Warner but we never got the outstanding customer service we had received with NYS. That’s why we kept returning. They have awesome customer service, no issues at all with paperwork in the office always a smooth transaction. No «political issues» like the other league.
Whenever we had an questions or issues Mr. Connors would immediately take care of it or email me or my husband right away. I’ve always recommend NYS to friends, family, ect.
My son is now in high school but finished his youth tackle football career with NYS. I would highly recommend them if you looking to sign your son or daughter up in a sport.

Don’t waste your money. The only thing NYS provides is a Jersey, that’s all. There are no trained soccer coaches. A parent has to volunteer and is then expected to provide all equipment. You practice at a park– all of these things cost NYS zero. Last week at my daughter’s game, no ref showed up. On top of that, there was no net in the goal. The opposing «coach» said that at their game the previous week they had no ref as well.
If you are going to take people’s money, then at least provide the basics. Clearly this company is pocketing the money and not caring about their young players, or the parents who signed their child up for a good experience. I will not be signing any of my children up again for any NYS sponsored team, and urge others considering it to find a more reputable league for your kid.

My son usually plays soccer for another league but we decided to give NYS a try for Spring season. I have been hugely disappointed. Our other league provides a full uniform (2 jersey’s, shorts and socks), which are included in the cost of registration. NYS provides a jersey and we had to pay for that separately from the cost of registration. We also had to pay for the trophy. It adds up. The first few games were a joke in that there were no nets on the field and games started late. The early refs were also young adults/​teens who spent more time on their i-​phones then they did watching the game. It has just been really sad. We will not play with them again.

What a joke… Kid wants to play football and every time you turn around they are wanting more $$$… 180.00 to register… 135.00 for jersey and trophies… 200+ for their equipment??? WTH People and the only fee that was discussed was the 180.00 and equipment… #duped

I would tell anyone signing there child up in kid pitch baseball go see a couple of games and see if what is offered suits your child’s needs for learning and excelling in this sport. Most of the coaches (and I am guilty of this also) put there own kids in wanted positions no matter what there skills are. It also takes away from a dedicated player that is not given a fair shot due to coaches kid. In baseball you play your best and make the rest work harder to gain there position.
If your child is deciding if he may like a sport and has not played before NYS is a great place to join. If your wanting to actually teach your child and them to progress to next level I would recommend a little league or private league.
CYBL is a great league for the same amount of money and twice the games. There players are A+ players so not always the best setting for a beginner.

I wanted to give a little more information on NYS now that the season has ended:
1) absolutely zero action was taken in regards to my complaint. According to the parents on my team, not one of them was contacted in regards to the situation.
2) Shawn also never contacted me back to address my complaints.
3) Shawn put a Unilocal response up to mine, stating, «Since the opposing team in question still has a remaining game, I have made arrangements to personally observe the game as to not dispel any claims that come to our attention.» However, Shawn made arrangements to be at my game for tipoff and the first 5 minutes or so; my game started at 10am at 63^rd Ave and Union Hills; the «opposing team» started their game at 10am as well, at 24^th St and Cactus. Even under the best of circumstances, that’s about a ½ hour drive, not including time for parking, and our games, including half-​time, timeouts, etc., are barely 40 minutes. (Note: it may very well have not been Shawn… it may have just been a man who looks exactly like the picture of Shawn attached to his Unilocal comments… who just happened to be walking around introducing himself to people as Shawn from NYS… I wouldn’t know because he never approached me)
So, it sounds like Shawn specifically scheduled it so he’d show up in time to celebrate with his buddies.
4) One last thing to make clear: through this entire process, not once has anybody with NYS given a simple, «I’m sorry». Not the refs at the game, who could have easily said «I’m sorry man, I didn’t see enough for a foul.» Not the league coordinator, who could have easily said, «I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching the game at that point, and I’m sorry I didn’t step in to stop the poor sportsmanship from the other coach.» Definitely not the owner, who has only spoken to me once about this whole thing, and that was only after my persistence, who could have said, «I’m sorry, I don’t have enough to go off of,» instead choosing to just go with the «it’s all in their imagination» defense. You know who DID apologize to me? Parents of players on the other team. A coach from the game after ours. A referee who works NYS games who has seen the videos and agrees that the the officiating at the game in question was horrible and clearly got out of hand.
It needs to be noted that every one of the parents on my team left NYS after this season. Several, including myself, had already signed up for the next season and had to go through the hassle of arguing and getting refunds, due to the NYS «no refunds» policy (Note: my wife didn’t have to argue for a refund, as it was apparently expected, but I’ve heard from two other parents that they’ve had to argue for refunds, and NYS told them that they don’t do refunds via phone, you have to come into their office, which is only open M-​F, 10a-​5p, which is when most people are working. It is interesting that Shawn states he was present when my wife went in for a refund… as somebody who has been in business for many years, I would have made it a point to step out of my office to greet her and apologize, face-to-face…but that’s just me).
