The Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shops are one stop shops for all of your soda pop and candy cravings. There are thousands of bottled soda pops and candies from all over America, including some from other galaxies. The gigantic selection will launch you back in time to when you were a kid – even if you are over a hundred light years old. And if you are a kid, don’t plan on growing up when you are inside of a Rocket Fizz store. Rocket Fizz is a lot of fun and nostalgic. There are hundreds of retro and gag gifts, and concert posters and movie posters, and tin signs too. The inventory is always expanding, just like outer-​space. So if you want to have fun then fly on over in your space ship and cruise around a Rocket Fizz universe.

History

Established in 2011.

Rocket Fizz began several years ago with founders who loved creating unique and fun soda flavors. The Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop located in Glendale, CA opened November 2011, is an independently owned and operated store. We specialize in retro, imported and specialty soda pop and candy. This is where you’ll find the zany line of Rocket Fizz brand sodas ranging from Judge Wapner Rootbeer, Lester’s Fixin’s Bacon Flavored Soda to Martian Poop soda. You’ll also find sodas from Detroit to Austrailia. We also have lots of reproduction posters and unique signs as well as fun novelty items to suit individual quirkyness of our guests.

This isn’t so much a review as to point out that Unilocal shows hours from 10 AM to 9:30 PM. I can see the store from a window in. California Pizza Kitchen across the street. It’s not even 9 PM, and Rocket Fizz is already closed.

Everytime I walk into this Rocketfizz and speak to the owner, i get a big smile on my face. He is do kind and sweet!
They always have a wide variety of soda pops, chocolates, and candies from around the world. I love checking out whats in store!
I recently went on a dark chocolate binge purchase there and everything was delicious.

I must’ve come on an off day because contrary to other reviews, service wasn’t particularly good, and the older woman working there wasn’t knowledgeable about candy at all. My hair stylist from next door recommended that I come here to check out all the sodas and retro candy. I wanted to buy some retro candy for my friend’s upcoming birthday, but there weren’t as many candy from our childhood as I had expected.
And talk about overpriced! I totally expect hard-​to-​find candy to be expensive, but it was just the regular stuff you can find anywhere that had jacked-​up prices. As an example, you can get a little bag of sour spaghetti for about $ 2 at Ralphs (often on sale for $ 1). At Rocket Fizz, the same bag costs more than double that. Hmm.
Also beware of what you buy because it looked like a lot of the less popular candy had been sitting there for months and months, if not years, getting old and stale.

This place is so awesome. The orange cream soda they have there is amazing and also the root beer is amazing there to. I recently found out about this place cause my brother went and bought something from there and it was great.

I like to take my daughter for long walks on the weekends. Our walk this past weekend led us down Brand Blvd. My daughter’s toddler senses must have told her this was a candy store because she pointed to the entrance and yelled «snack» before we had even approached the opening. I follow direction very well so we entered the store. This candy store is adorable. I’ve visited its twin in Burbank once before. They carry all of the misfits and forgotten childhood candies. It’s like an instant trip back to elementary years. Of course, they carry the current favorites as well. Worth stopping in for a «snack» if you happen to be in the area.

A very good place to get specialty drinks. Also, you buy 7 you get 1 free! Kind of pricy though as each drink is greater than 2 dollars.
The only complaint (kind of a big one) is that they will only give you one stamp no matter how many drinks you buy. Therefore, it’s kind of false advertising as it says «buy 7 drinks get 1 free», not seven visits! I inquired about this to the owner and hopefully they’ll change it! The owners are non-​english speakers, so I’m sure it was an honest mistake.

Cute store. They carry lots of cool retro candy and soda pop. In addition to novelty items as well. It’s a much smaller store than the one in Pasadena, but it is stocked with plenty of items to choose from.

Rocket fizz has become a chain place that has been popping up all over LA. I’ve noticed. But I don’t mind at all because I’m a huge fan of sarsaparilla. And this place is full of it. The owner or lady working was really nice and friendly and she suggested I buy the 4 pack so I can save.

Oh my… did Santa moved his candy shop in Glendale?
Rocket Fizz is your neighborhood eye candy and I say that literally, from the moment you enter the door a colorful sugar galore will greet you, there is also an array of old school memorabilias and some Norman Rockwell posters on the wall which add so much charm to this delightful candy store, I have to say, it sure brought great memories of childhood.
You look to your left, you look to your right, look on the floor, look up on the shelf — Candies, candies, and more candies! Of all shape, colors and sizes! I have stumbled upon some delightful licorice’s from Rocket Fizz, as a licorice fan I bought a package of the good ones that I know and bought pieces of the imports from different parts of Europe and New Zealand.
They also have a novelty soda fridge where you could try different sweet libations (non-​alcoholic) Cream Soda, root beer, coke with real sugar, raspberry soda, the list just goes on and on and on! Refreshing!
Lastly, I just want to thank the sweet young lady at the counter, she was truly wonderful, thank you for taking the time to educate me of customer favorites and the best delightful treats! Also Thank you for the very nice raspberry licorice you threw in the bag for my godfather, that was very sweet (no pun intended)

Much like any other Rocket Fizz, you’ll find those same sodas here. It seems like if you’re looking for some version of a poorly concocted sugar bomb with a silly name like North Korean Orange bomb or something like that.
I’m not saying this place is bad. If you’re in the need for something nostalgic or kitschy, they’ll probably have it on the wall along with all the other tin signs that you will regret buying the moment you take it home and realize that the practical use of it is zero.
In fact, there’s not much here that you’d actually need. But hey, that’ doesn’t stop anyone from wanting a thing.
In any case, the customer service here is pretty solid. They’re helpful and what not. I did find instances where the soda was expired or well past the sell by date. When it comes to HFCS and chemically made sugars, once it gets past the expiration dates… yeah, they start going down in flavor.
This does also worry me about the actual turn around on these sodas in how long they sit on the shelf. Eh, this is my reservation. It’s a neat candy and soda shop for the kids and when you’re craving that sweet tooth kick — but just be mindful of the expiration dates on these suckers.

I love Rocket Fizz because they carry Moxie soda.
This particular one always has nice cold Moxies in the fridge section. Hence why I am a fan.
So if you are lookin’ for an ice cold moxie, go here. BUT! They ONLY carry standard moxie, in glass bottle format. BevMo does carry diet moxie and sometimes alternative moxie flavors, but I don’t like BevMo because it’s almost all booze now (versus cool alternative sodas).

I can not believe this place exists.
It’s like every candy from my childhood AND adulthood in one place.
Not only have I been able to find tried and true candies here, but also nostalgic sweets and new discoveries that I’ve added to my list of favorites!
The owners are rad and sometimes will give you extras. And the store is clean, organized and not too crowded.

I had hope of this place because

Even though this was my first visit, still as a business place you should check out the expiration dates. I was excited to come here to see mainly the sodas. I did however got 2 different kinds of sodas. Candy cane soda is not that great — damn Jones Soda… idk what I was thinking. I should of just got pumpkin pie.
Anyway I came here on Saturday with my bff because we didn’t wanna go to the Burbank location and get lost lol. As I was looking around I found some grapevines. Yay! I said to myself a place that offers grapevines and I don’t have to go to the other side of LA to get some. So I got it and some other stuff. The guy was nice he offered me a tiny basket for my things.
Today, I finally ate my grapevine and what do I find a hard batch and I just check the date it is expired on April 24, 2012.
Now that is pretty lame. If you don’t have someone checking expiration dates, please employee someone to do it. Because my candy is pretty far out to still be on the counter.

This place is awesome to peruse for dumb novelty items such as «Handerpants» (underpants for your hands,) and it’s cool when you run out of C. Howards Violet candies and you don’t want to go all the way to Wacko’s in Hollywood to pick up some more. but the truth of the matter is, Rocklet Fizz is WAY overpriced. I suggest checking out Galco’s soda pop stop in Eagle Rock for any and all of your soda needs and some of your nostalgic candy cravings.

It’s great to see that all the empty storefronts from last year are starting to fill up with new and exciting shops. Upon walking into Rocket Fizz, I was immediately impressed with the selection of bottled sodas they had to offer. Its one of the biggest selections I’ve ever seen and head and shoulders above anyplace in Glendale. In addition to that there is a fine selection of candy and other random kitsch merchandise.
Personally, I was more into the sodas. I was very amused at some of the more eccentric soda flavors like Pumpkin Pie Soda, Peanut Butter and Jelly Soda
…AND BACON SODA!!! Anyone who knows me, knows how obsessed I am with bacon so I had to pick this up. The Bacon Soda (2 out of 5) was pretty nasty! It wasn’t as rancid as the Bacon Bubble Gum I had. The soda was still drinkable and I finished it (barely). It wasn’t all that «bacon-​y.» It was very artificially flavored and a little overly sweet.

This Rocket Fizz is smaller than the one in Pasadena, but it’s also more convenient for me since it’s right by work! So happy they’ve opened, and yet. so mad!
A decently sized selection of bottled bubbly beverages and a whole host of sweets and treats and gags.
It calls to me, it does.
I’m such a fan of Rocket Fizz ;)
