History

Established in 2002.

Rolling Robots was founded by husband and wife team George Kirkman and Bing Jiang, two long-time aerospace engineers, who decided to use their expertise to open their own business. As the parents of two, they developed their business model around their three passions: kids, technology, and teaching.

Two stores and hundreds of birthday parties and camps later, we’re still defined by our founders’ three passions. Because at the core of Rolling Robots’ philosophy is the belief that early exposure to science and technology will give kids more opportunities later in life. We don’t expect every child to become a robot engineer, but we know that whatever they do, technology will play a vital role in their lives. Why not get them excited to learn about it as early as possible?

It’s this simple philosophy that makes us who we are: Learn as much as you can, and have a lot of fun doing it.

In 2014, the West LA opened its door.

Business Owner

George, or Dr. K. as he is known to his students, is the founder and resident Robot Doctor of Rolling Robots. Having earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering, he has over 20 years of experience in aeronautics. One of his projects flew to the moon, and another orbited Saturn. He has taught at every grade level from elementary school to graduate school.

These days he spends most of his time figuring out ways to bring high technology to kids in fun and creative ways through robotics.
