Thai Food Express

Take out pad thai was was a lumpy sticky mess. I was surprised people gave good reviews for the take out food. It came in one solid climb of noodles that was impossible to separate.

The food here is good. Its not the best thai I’ve had but it was cheap and fast and the service was great. The Thom Kha was fun, they give you the stuff to season it to your level of spice. I will order from here again for sure.

Food was horrible! I placed the order for delivery & how ever took my order completely wrote down the incorrect order. We decided to try the food instead of calling back and making a big deal. but it was the big mistake giving the food a chance! Not worth on bit. Chicken was horrblie and smelled gross

First time, will be going back very soon. Ordered Panang curry, Pad Kee Mao, Eggplant with fried tofu, Chicken larb. The ingredients were very fresh, the dishes were light and flavorful. Very impressive!

I had the shrimp fried rice and it’s always very good. We also had quick delivery and good customer service over the phone and with delivery. My son enjoyed their chicken satay skewers as well!

So, I was running an errand next door and something drew me to stop in. The place looks like a dive inside. Like total L.A. hood back in the 1990s kind of dive. Ain’t nothing fancy about this joint at all.
BUT, they have an A rating with the county so can’t go wrong there. Now on to the nitty gritty. The girl behind the counter is cute and friendly. I told her I needed my food with little to no salt because I am on dialysis and she totally worked with me on my order. Since I have no idea about this place beforehand, I kept my order to pad thai tofu with no salt and no fish sauce and crab fried rice in the same manner. I am accustomed to bland no salt foods, so figured it couldn’t be worse than what I prepare myself at home.
Took the food to go since they only have a couple tables and the joint has that one bedroom apartment feel to it. I paid cash but they didn’t give or offer to give me a receipt. My bad for not asking for it.
Popped the boxes open when I got home and dug right in. Holy $#!& that food was on point. I could tell it lacked the crazy sodium you typically find in Asian mom and pop joints run by old school cooks that believe that high sodium equates to flavor. While it lacked the stinging bite of salt, it still had that kick of flavor. I was able to enjoy the familiar flavors of Thai food without sending my kidneys into overload.
Will I come back? I just might if i can find parking. Parking sucks in this part of Glendale. Traffic sucks worse. I wasn’t driving today so it was convenient but I would have a hard time trying to squeeze my fully built offroad truck here.

First time there a few weeks ago. Had the beef pad see yew, and my bf had the Hawaiian fried rice. And we were both satisfied. Big portions. Well priced. Delicious. If you plan on ordering call in, the orders take about 20 – 30 mins. We will definitely be going back, and we recommend it.

It doesn’t really live up to the 4.5 star reviews on Unilocal.I expected it to be much more flavorful, but there are better places in the Inland empire as far as I am concerned. But the 4-​star is because of the service! The lady behind the counter is super helpful and nice! Very helpful in suggestions on what they make the best and you can see her make your food, which is pretty cool. It definitely makes up for it’s shortcomings. It’s kind of a dingy interior, but I think most people do carry out anyway, so that part is forgiven.
Overall: I probably would go somewhere else, but it is very quick and has good service, so maybe i’ll come back!

Great food at a great price. I got the chicken with basil combination and it was $ 6.50 for a nice portion. It tastes very good too.

A great little family run restaurant. They don’t have a lot of tables so I got my food to go. I was in the neighborhood and was craving for Thai food. Thai Food Express had lots of great reviews so I decided to go here.
They don’t have a parking lot so I ended up parking about a block away on the street. When I walked in, the order taker, server and cashier (father) was so sweet and kind where he reminded me of my father (RIP my daddy). The cook (daughter) was sweet and very patient with all the incoming orders and she kept on apologizing to the customers for the wait. This place is definitely worth the wait.
I ordered the following:
Spicy Beef Salad ($ 7.50) — it was so good, huge portion. The beef was very thin, tender and juicy. The dressing was the perfect blend of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. Served with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, red and green onions and cilantro. Such a delicious and refreshing salad.
Pad See Yew ($ 7.50) — flat rice noodles with Chinese broccoli, egg and tofu. So delicious. Huge portion and I love the sweet and saltiness of this dish.
I would definitely go here again.

This is definitely a hole in a wall diamond in the rough. Beware of the parking situation as it can be tough. I was able to find a spot about a block away on the street, but your mileage may vary.
It can be easy to miss this place as there is another Thai-​themed restaurant a few spots away! (Thai Food Express is in the middle while the other Thai restaurant is on the corner) Check the number and be sure that it’s 1361 before you enter!
How it works is this:
1) Grab a menu from the cashier
2) Wait in line (if there is one)
3) Order
4) Sit down (if there’s any open seating, the place is a bit on the small side)
5) Food arrives
6) Pay at the cashier
7) If paying with credit card, let the cashier know if you are leaving tip on the card (via a percentage or exact amount — they will give you a final price before swiping).
I ordered the Pad See Ewe chicken and it was fresh, piping hot, and enjoyable. I’d have to say it was one of the best ones I’ve had in recent memory.
I wasn’t able to try the other items on the menu as I was full but I plan on returning soon to try their other offerings.
The lady that took our order and coincidentally cooked our food was very friendly and prompt. 5 Stars and will update this review again after another try.

Food here is amazing. First time for me and siblings and we loved it. Yummmy. Loved the noodles, fried rice and orange chicken.

Don’t let the exterior fool you, contained within these stained walls, lies the treasure of a myriad of mouthwatering, flavorful, bold thai dishes– awaiting to flaunt away their perfectly blended herbs and chili balance on your hungry taste buds.
Look, I’m going to keep it simple, because my phone is at 4% battery life– you want great thai food, come here! Service is excellent, food is excellent, price excellent, parking is street only. Booooo… Not really– because, it is totally worth the walk!

Delivery food which is amazing!
Lady was extremely rude on the phone. As though I was wasting her time when i asked for specific things. Or like she was half listening.
Not enough veggies so I ordered broccoli additive && didn’t receive anything. She read back the correct order.
This is my first review after being on Unilocal for two years.

So it’s definitely not the best Thai food I’ve ever had… We were really excited to order from here because of the positive reviews and extensive menu.
My husband and I LOVE our Pad See Ew with extra sauce. He asked the lady on the phone for extra sauce and she told him that it would be too salty and he told her that was ok, she continued to tell him no and that he should order something else on the menu. Um, we like extra sauce. Especially when the noodles dry up SO quickly. We know what we want. Needless to say, we didn’t get extra sauce. When we received the Pad See Ew it lacked flavor and there was hardly any meat! :-(
We also ordered the crab fried rice which was decent. It definitely needed soy sauce though.
Lastly, we ordered the vegetable Tom Yum soup, it was full of veggies and was pretty tasty. However, we probably won’t return.

A sip of their hot Tom Yum soup is like heaven… the perfect savory soupness! Compared to other Tom Yum soups out there, this broth is definitely one of my favorites. I will say, DO NOT GET THE CHICKEN! The chicken is low quality and pasty, it stringy and tasted like Mcdonalds frozen-​for-​months chicken.
The curry and spicy beef salad were on point, the beef was good quality and well marinated.
Overall, great food for great prices. Love supporting local ma and pa stores. Good customer service.

We just moved to town two weeks ago and have been scoping out the local food scene. We came across this place and were intrigued by the pics and reviews so we figured we would give it a shot!
The restaurant doesn’t really give off a restaurant vibe. There’s really only like 4 tables in the whole place and it’s pretty casual (it’s like you are sitting in the kitchen with the cooks, ya kno?) And i was totally digging it! It was quiet and low key and relaxed. Nothing pretentious, just all about the food! And boy was our food good! The star of the show for me was the yellow curry which we ordered with chicken. I’m a huge fan of thai yellow curry to begin with and this one takes the cake. Right amount of sweet coconut and spice! We also ordered the pad see ew which seems to be a customer favorite among Unilocalers. It was also really tasty and fresh! The fried wontons and egg rolls were pretty typical and I liked their thai iced tea (just a little too sweet actually). The service was super friendly too! All in all, super pumped that this place is right around the corner. We will most definitely be back :)

Definitely would not expect amazing Thai food from the looks of this place. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and we were skeptical when we walked in. I feel like it’s more geared for take out but I ate here anyways.
I was so impressed by the girl who works here. She literally makes the food right there and then in front of you while also handling dine-​in guests as well as the constant stream of incoming delivery orders. Kudos to you!
The food was pretty bomb. Legit, authentic Thai food; the flavors were very fresh and my Pad Thai was not oily like it is at some places. I didn’t get that heavy feeling afterwards.
Wish this was in my area because I’d be ordering for delivery every single night!

Mediocre Thai delivery food. Came 35 mins late and the delivery guy didn’t apologize or mention it. I took the high road and said «have a nice day» and he said nothing and walked away.
Now to the food. 3 things:
1. 3 egg rolls (standard in the Thai food delivery business is 4)
2. Dark meat in the chicken curry. Never seen this. Not a fan. All white meat chicken or bust.
3. Pad se ew is greasy and below average.
Overall, disappointed given the barrage of stellar reviews, but maybe they are worth another shot for redemption.

I’ve been here twice now and ordered to go. I really like that the young guy who works here speaks English so well (seems like a native speaker). The young gal who makes everything (Shannon) is also a native English speaker. Makes ordering vegetarian dishes easy! Shannon is great — she literally is the chef of this place and is cooking multiple things at once.
There’s really no ambiance here so it’s definitely not a date spot or anything.
They have an extensive menu. We ordered vegetable chow mein and kung pao tofu. Both were average — definitely not out of this world but acceptable Asian food. I wish the kung pao had peanuts or cashews in it like it typically does. The food was not greasy at all which was a definite plus. Thai iced tea is great; not too sweet. Just right.
